Urban Symphony win Best dressed act award

The votes for the fourth annual esctoday.com awards have been cast over the last three and a half weeks and now it is time to reveal the results. We continue with the Best dressed act award.

The 2009 esctoday.com Award for Best dressed act goes to...

  • ...Urban Symphony of Estonia

Urban Symphony represented Estonia in the Eurovision Song Contest this year and and finished  third in the second semi final and sixth in the final with the song Rändajad.

  • You can find the list of all award results revealed so far this year here

The winners

This is already the fourth esctoday.com award for Estonia this year following victories in the categories Best duo/group performance, Most creative effort and Best arrangement and production. Previously, this award has gone to Kate Ryan (Belgium) in 2006, Sopho (Georgia) in 2007 and Ani Lorak (Ukraine) in 2008. It is therefore the first time that this award does not go to a female soloist but rather to an all-female band.

The complete results

Urban Symphony win this award ahead of Jade Ewen with Patricia Kaas being very closely behind. Regina, the only male act nominated, finished fourth.

  1. Urban Symphony (Estonia) - 26.4%
  2. Jade Ewen (United Kingdom) - 20.7%
  3. Patricia Kaas (France) - 20.1%
  4. Regina (Bosnia & Herzegovina) - 18.1%
  5. Malena Ernman (Sweden) - 14.7%

In my opinion no one was better dressed than Inga and Anush. But I realise that's not the kind of attire your average teenager would vote for, so they were naturally not even nominated here. I can't remember what any of the nominees wore, so I guess I might as well be happy for Estonia. Nice song. Nice people. Nice country. Whatever.

I would have given this one to BiH or France. I love 'Rändajad' but the dresses weren't anything special.

Any award given to this song or to Urban Symphony is well deserved. For me this entry is already an ESC classic.

better than Malena's superly expensive dress or Regina's cool white clothes ? I think this site is getting blindly excited about the Estonian masterpiece, which was an amazing song and entry but may be overrated in all the other aspects

They deserved it, but I think that the dress Malena used was the best!
