Ukraine announces representative tomorrow

The Ukrainian broadcaster NTU will announce tomorrow at a press conference the act to represent the country at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest. Despite the election of the representative has been made internally, an open call for songs will be launched tomorrow.

The announcement is expected to take place at 14:00 CET, when the country's public broadcaster NTU will reveal the name of the artist to represent Ukraine next May in Oslo. A public call for songs will be launched, but it is yet unknown whether the Ukrainian entry for 2010 will be chosen internally as well or via a televised national selection.

Svetlana Loboda represented Ukraine in 2009 with the song Be my Valentine, ending up 12th in the  Moscow final.

Greenjolly were fantastic and the best ukranian entry! I also liked Verka lol, it was such a funny and deliberately trashy entry. The other entries are so-so, they wouldn't have done that well if it had been another country.

am probably the only person in the world who liked Greenjolly back in 2005

No, you're not. Greenjolly had the only Ukrainian entry I've ever liked.
lol

It's the only country that wouldn't have qualified without diaspora/cultural voting in 2009

Ukraine is one of the countries that gains a lot from such voting, almost one third of all the votes they have received in Eurovision finals have come from just 6 countries.

Bashing on:
It's the only country that wouldn't have qualified without diaspora/cultural voting in 2009 (it was Turkey in 2008)
Bashing off

It's quite early i think, did Ukraine ever reveal their artist before the end of the year?
A country that i like , they do not send crappy songs and take the contest seriously... in a strange way (sending gimmick entries) but they do lol.

'Shady Lady' should have one in 2008!!(That or 'Senhora Do Mar' ;)

NTU makes an effort for Eurovision every year, I hope they keep it up.

YAY, my favorite trashy ESC country :D
They can't possibly find someone as entertaining and laughable as Sveta, but I hope they'll give it a shot anyway. :D

Ukraine is one of the best countries in ESC imo, they always prepare themselves very well and shows that they take the contest seriously, unlike some certain countries ahem

San X

Thanks, too, for agreeing on Greenjolly, but I think that Ruslana is the worst winner ever and had Ani Lorak in second place from last. Well, sometimes tastes differ and sometimes they converge ...

And it is *weirdo of course.

Thanks, it is always nice to be reassured that one is not a complete weierdo!

I love Ukraine in Eurovision! Their 2004 and 2008 entries are two of my favourite ESC songs EVER!!! :D I think this years entry is their worst entry to date but I still like it and her performance was pretty Awesome. I'd love to see Ani Lorak back! but I'd like to see a male singer to represent. Besides, if Ukraine does send a gimmick entry, why not? Eurovision would be boring without at least one.

@ togravus ceterum

you're not alone, I liked Greenjolly too!

Dear Togravus, you are not alone, I also liked Greenjolly, in fact, one of my votes in 2005 went to them.

I hope that they will for once send a song and not a circus number. Loved Verka though ... and am probably the only person in the world who liked Greenjolly back in 2005 ...
Good luck!

I am glad to know that Ukraine will be present in Oslo 2010. I do hope they will go for something more low key; no more fireworks, please. Thanks. Good luck!
