Princess Engla
Yes, and the same goes for Lena PH. Helena and Lena were obviously SVT's 1st and 2nd choices ;)

OT: Paparizou was the 4th MF wild card. She has a song but she thought it wasn't enough with time to make a new concept around the song. That's why draw out from MF 2010. Now it seems 2011 will be her year... It's seems very possible that she will participate in MF 2011.

Sweden are clearly getting something really wrong here. They had great songs the last three year which have bombed in the Grand Final. Last year the public picked the wrong song and the jury the right one, then in 2008 it was the other way round!

The voting just isn't working.

That's what I mean, ppl here complain about MF coz they don't like style of music which ppl and jury in Sweden choose for ESC!! :S

Yeah I'm happy with Peter at the final spot And I think Swedes love kempes music, so stop saying: UUUh not Kempe again!! OMG -.- If they like it, let them sent it! Let's wait till we hear the songs, but there are many different songs ( i think) so be patient and stop bashing
Well said!! ;)

Kenneth Koehler?!? His name is Kenneth Gärdestad.

BTW, looks like the unofficial rule that the most famous artists shall perform last is still going strong.

Sweden always impress me,

Malena was 5th in my top 25

Also Sweden in 2008 made my top 10 also.

Sweden have been underrated from 2006, the Ark was not my cup of Tea but I think they too deserved a higher place. I have high hopes for Sweden in 2010. I hope they recieve some votes if the song is anywhere near as good as 08 and 09

I think that Sweden would achieve good place last year if they would send Sarah Dawb Finer with "Moving On".I know it would be another ballad but it's very beautiful and maybe they would have top 10 or top 5.Swedes badly choose their songs for Eurovision.

Without the juries La Voix would be placed as 15th , which I doubt would have made the Swedes more happy. For me, not a revolutionary difference from 21st place.

Swedes care too much about placing in the running order. I trust the Swedish public to be smart enough to vote for something else and NOT another Kempe-song for the guy performing last of all. Or at least I hope they are. :)

@Michael UK
If Hero was such a good song then the masses would have voted for it! She was rather bad live and the song was a cheesefest! Of course that means it's a favourite - hereamong eurofans who loooove cheesy pop schlager :P

@ Morgan
But if ppl in Sweden and jury in MF won't like Kempe's song, It isn't important if that song will be performed last in the last semi!!! ;) If they will like it, it will win wherever it will be performed!! :)

@Marko : the fact that his songs are loved or not is rather out of the question.. You don't seem to get that it is not at all about the songs here, because we don't know them but SVT does and they seem to only care about making it so that a certain song wins and not others and that's unfair, regardless the songs quality.

As for Malena you can not say she did so badly (the worst esc result ever placewise, though Sweden did get last in 77 but only 18th) just because juries did not vote for her. Sure some people liked her in Europe but not enough to give her pts. Her live was very boring and her singing in the verses was even sometimes off key ! Moreover, you seem to forget that on the other hand in 2008 Peter Kempe's song was saved by the juries themselves from the semi where, once more, it was killed by televote.

Mira Craig FTW [60087]
Fri 8 Jan 2010 15:58:37

@ Morgan
But ppl in Sweden love his songs, and many ppl from other countries, many ppl voted for Malena Ernman "La voix" last year, it was 5th in semifinal, and then jury didn't vote for it at all in the final! :S :( You can read on YT that many ppl from all around Europe loved that song!!
I only recomended you to wait to listen songs, not first day when order is pubnlished to start complaining!! ;) :) It's quite normal to wait for the songs, to listen them and then to critise competition if it is nesccesary!! :)

Morgan S. Trouillet [10463]
Fri 8 Jan 2010 15:54:48

@manuel lol that would be an option but I'd rather see them 8th of the 3rd semi here and be done with em

Manuel (Germany) [34658]
Fri 8 Jan 2010 15:47:20

Just let Alcazar qualify so they can be last in Oslo and finally stop competing!"

Morgan S. Trouillet [10463]
Fri 8 Jan 2010 15:40:09

@Marko we are not PASSIVE esc fans who just accept everything that is going on and applaud at everything. There are very unfair decisions, some stupid elements that can ruin a show and we fans know better because we follow closely and yearly each of these events. Here we ALL agree that MF is definitely among the best NF if not the best NF through the decades but the way it is currently being handled is definitely unfair and in huge favor of a certain particular song writer. If you wanna stay blind and be happy about Sweden sending over the same dumb songs and kill its chances in Eurovision, then good for you. We ain't sure that's what we want.

lol :D :D this is sooooo currupted! But I love Kempe's songs, other than La Voix so I don't mind another Kempe win...I hope it'll do much better this time - remember people, that the last Kempe songs to fail were sang by divas who had several image problems, in my humble opinion, and I'm a huge Charlotte fan...Besides, 50 percent jury etc, so don't be so certain that if Kempe goes again he is sure to fail...it's a young male singer now, isn't it? is he good? is he big in Sweden this Peter guy? lets wait for the songs, shall we?

Best of Luck! I love Sweden :)

I hope SVT fix the voting debacle from last year. Hope & Glory ranked 1 & 5 was beaten by La Voix ranked 8 & 1. How can that be if the voting is 50/50 between jury and televote?

The problem is that for winning the jury, H&G only received 90pts. For winning the televote, LV received 144pts. To get 144pts from the jury, the song must get 12pts from each of the 12 sub-juries. Not really possible!

Maybe I'm wrong with the 50/50. If not, they need to proportion the points evenly. :)

Let's hope Sweden makes a good choice and not like the last couple of years sending old fashion songs .. :S
