These artists will fight for the Estonian ticket to Oslo on March 12th. They have been selected out of 155 submitted entries. Heidy Purga, producer for the show, said that the 10 finalists are "the ten best" acts among all the candidates.
Shortlisting them was responsibility for a 11-member jury, comprising Ardo Ran Varres, Olavi Paid, Erik Morna, Toomas Puna, Ingrid Kohtla, Helen Sildna, Owe Parsley, Meelis Meri, Dawn Raudsepp, Siim Nestor and Valner Valme.
UPDATE. The song Made me cry, by Nikita Bogdanov, has been disqualified as it was found out to be published before October 1st, thus breaking the Eurovision rules. The gap has been filled with another entry, Siren, by Robin Juhkental. Robin is known known from his participations at the 2007 edition of ETV's young singer's contest Kaks Takti Ette, as well as the Estonian version of Idol.
Thanks to Eerik P. for the submission of the information.

Max Walter,
Piret is the one that says "never, ever ESC again". Mostly she mocks the "competition" factor. Deep down I'm sure she knows the exposure can be priceless. So many Vanilla Ninja fans because of ESC 2005.
Of course, not that EL is technically ESC. It has a new purpose now. ESC is supposedly the afterthought if victory is secured at EL. Maybe she would not accept the invitation if her song won.
Lenna is probably more open to ESC, hence she's actually performing. Last year, Piret was also on stage for an entrant. Maybe the "no ESC" rule only applies to VN. Whether VN ever returns, who knows.
@Andrew England
Don't worry, an announcement is coming in a week or two!

And in the end that made you cry............
Well, I didn't like the new singer that replaced him either. Robin Juhkental also had a monotonous voice and terrible songchoices in "Idol". He was quirky and cute though.
i just heard " siren " from ETV . i cant compare it with anything from eurovision. its like oldschool popsong .Maagiline päev is still best
Oh no, I loved Made me cry so much
Violina and Rolf are very good , although i usually dont listen to music like that. But their song has catchy violin rythm . We will just have to wait for the final version
If Estonia sends Viloina & Rolf Junior it will be top 5 maybe? This song is very good?
@ Richard M, the rules said no public performance/play before October 1st.
I invite to visit my channel to all the fans of the Estonian pop

Thank you!
I love Rolf Junior's song, It's been around for some weeks too so they cant be following Sweden's strict - "no play" before contest rule - will be fun to see if the songs are all as good as last year !!
Violina are great....
in the end made me cry was disqualified .although ive only heard 4 songs i think maagiline päev is the best
Good luck to Eesti
Last year, my favory

Now I'm confused too!
Thay actually told us that it isn't available yet, like some other songs, but how comes that singer will have two songs with same title?
Marko,
that's what I thought last night, too. But I saw many people commenting on it and I got confused as I can't find another one with that title.
@ Mina
In the end they told us that it isn't!!
I'm confused. Is this the Made me cry song?

I think that already Ice-Cold Story should have been Estonia's choice in 2008, but Astronaut is even better - it's simply great...
Hm, I am not too happy that Lenna and Piret are taking part in the contest separately but not as Vanilla Ninja considering that the band still exists
Lenna is participating as a singer and Piret is participating as a songwriter but probably their songs will be disco-pop and will have nothing to do with the style of the band.
And yep, I am also disappointed by Iiris Vesik. I expected a little more after Ice-Cold Story. But her current song Astronaut sounds really funny
I am so looking forward to this one.... Estonia is one of my all time favorite countries.
So wonderful to see Lenna Kuurmaa in this list, the greatest singer in the world!
For fans, she's currently working on a solo album.
Estonia are the coolest country I think in Eurovision. Bar Rolf Junior they can be so bloody experimental with what is thrown into their national final. Urban Symphony last year was literally incredible and now this year I have heard only two songs (the Ground Hog Day one and Astronaut) and they both give me multiple eargasms...
I need to go have a lie down cos I'm so flustered now! Can't wait to come back for the other entries tomorrow!!!
@sanka
I know my taste very well. Let's just wait and see til after we've heard the songs and see if I change my mind, LOL!
Vaiko Eplik wrote the song and he didn't have any good songs either - too "alternative" so that doesn't promise good for "Rapunzel" either. I think I prefer Eurolaul than this new format. This format is way too alternative. And just so you know, I didn't have a bad day until AFTER I heard these songs.
That was the worst part of my day spankyouverymuch.
i love maagiline paev , but maybe its too soon for violins , and i also love " new" , good song
@ sanka
thx for the links
