Actually, my favourite in now (no doubt)...
CATARINA PEREIRA - Canta por mim
Best song from the songs that are already chosen by some countries.
This year, I think Portugal will be in the favourites list, before Eurovision... as Norway and Turkey were last year.
Remember, last year - Alexander Rybak and Hadise were the most talked names.
This year, it will be all about Catarina.
Portugal, choose wisely!

My favourites are:
Catarina Pereira - Sing for me
Nina Pinto - My heart's not mine
Well, now i have listened to all of the songs:
it's true RTP is making more of an effort in the past 3 years, but that doesn't mean much. If these were really the 30 best songs...i wouldn't like to have to listen to the other 390........
My favourites right now (in no special order):
Catarina Pereira - Canta por mim
Ouro - Arco-Iris dentro de mim
Vanessa - Alvorada
V-Boy - Quando eu penso em ti
Terra d'Agua -Amanhã no mar
Banda Trocopasso - O mundo de pernas para o ar
Jorge Guerreiro - Ai Lisboa
Let's wait for the live performances...
@ João Lima
"Last year RTP had an audience of more than 3 million people. Are you saying that this 3 million are gay? almost half of the country, if it's let me get out of here."
Eurovision is and always has been a gay thing in EVERY country, because the gay community always identified with the glitz and glamour of the show. Some of the more loyal and more passionate spectators are gay. But with a few exceptions, there is nothing overtly gay in the show. That's why it's a show for everybody, not just for a few people. And that's why the majority of the spectators in EVERY country is of course hetero. Possibly another reason why Eurovision "is such a gay thing" is: gay fans would assume they were Eurovision fans in times when nobody else would.
In order to become a gay icon, an artist doesn't need to do anything gay, you know. Abba & Amalia Rodrigues are 2 gay icons.
@ Shevek Urras
I haven't had the time yet.
Adérito, I'm glad you're here. Have you listened to the snippets? What do you think of them?
@ Peter Sedan
"No one asked the portuguese people if we did agree with the same sex mariage, they simple aproved it in the Assembly, which I think it is total incorrect at this time since Portugal is facing more serious problems than this that need to be solved."
That's not true. All of the left wing parties had same sex marriage in their programme. They all said publicly they were for approving same sex marriage. In the October elections by voting in any leftist party, people were saying they were ok with it. People can choose not to follow the political debate, but then they can't say they weren't told.
As a gay man, i think approving the gay marriage is a good thing, it's solving a very serious easily solveable problem, and it will have an enormous effect in MY LIFE. Even though, i agree it's building the house by the roof. When was there any gay friendly programs on RTP, for instance??? NEVER of course, because they are always way too ocupied serving the catholic lobbyism, aren't they?
@joaquim gonalves
Yes, and Babic also gives you a song that is a complete rip-off and copied from a mix of previous Eurovision songs and it's painfully obvious.
Yes, I'm afraid so, João. But, as you said, RTP is trying harder and the audience numbersare rising. Vote wisely, everyone!
not bad
Trocopasso is a strong song the one that make me sing along
Catarina Pereira a voice and once again Babic give us a music whit a portuguese sound
Nina Pinto her song as a touch of fado that reach my soul
one of those will be great to Oslo.
I think that if Portugal stays in TOP 10 is a victory rigth now lol we want to win but I think that will last some more years until Portugal wins ESC
Well, Portugal just have to send the right song for the right Eurovision moment. They have sent good and very good songs but sometimes not in the right year. They have to keep trying... I think that none of this 30 songs is a winner though it might bring a good result for portugal at the end...we have to wait for the complet songs yet, since we just have half of each!
Definitely, João.
i don't understand you guys.........
if portugal send a ballad (it's to old fashioned, you don't like it)
if they send an ethnic song (it's too portuguese, it doesn't say nothing to you)
if they send a pop-catchy song (it's to eurotras and crap)
what's wrong with you all?!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not saying that Catarina is going to Oslo or even win there, i'm speaking in a geral way, if we win this year, or in 2011, 12, 13, etc it will be a big moment in Portugal
So the assholes disqualified one of the best songs they had, typical. They obviously want the eurotrash CRAP to win like always.
I see you really are convinced Catarina's song might be the one, João. I am more of the opinion that it is a bit unoriginal and insipid. I do agree that her vocals seem very good, though.
I just can said that if Portugal wins at least one time, we have the next ten years confirmated in Eurovision, and the Portuguese interest on ESC will increse to levels never seen before
esctoday publish this news lol
I like many of the songs, almost all of them, with exception for the Homens da Luta, but now they are oficially out of the race
Apart of liking almost all the entreis, I think that Catarina is the most "Eurovision" one, it's time to try a new thing, Sabrina was not equal as I have already rode
Well This was told me by a friend that lives in Madrid...he says that in Spain Eurovision is mostly a Gay thing...here in Germany is mostly and above all a gay thing also nowdays
And my friend told me that in Portugal is the same as in Spain. I´m actuly very happy by Portugal legalising same-sex mariage as they did in spain...and for that I imagine that gay comunity is as well very important as it is in Spain... Anyway I think this is very waise of Portugal, in Germany we are still waything for this day to come, even though gay cene is much more open than in Portugal, I supose...But, most of all I now that this days Eurovision is not a top-of art thing in Portugal, I was wondering about that. Sorry if I assume too much here!
Obrigado, João. Vamos lá a ver se escolhemos a melhor canção! This is a great way to finnish the week. That song was just inadequate. Now, I must say that Nina's song is growing on me along with 'Pássaro saudade' e 'Arco-íris dentro de mim'. 'Ai Lisboa' is sounding good too. Pity the whole songs aren't available.
