Netherlands: Eurovision aspirants revealed
These are the Dutch Eurovision hopefuls and their respective coaches:
- Sieneke (17), coached by Marianne Weber
- Vinzzent (33), coached by Grad Damen
- Marlous Oosting (21), coached by Corry Konings
- Peggy Mays (20), coached by Albert West
- LOEKZ (girl group, consisting of Dessa, Elske, Merel, Martine and Jezebe), coached by Frans Bauer
The Dutch representative will be selected by professional jury with four memebers, as well as the audience in the studio. No televoting will be involved in the selection process.
Dutch broadcaster TROS asked the 74-year-old composer Pierre Kartner to write the Dutch song for the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest.

It stays a weak song in each of the 5 versions.....a sad ESC year for the Netherlands again. Compared to shalali, even the Toppers were modern and hip!
everyone being so negative now ... but just wait and see ... netherlands will suprise everybody!!
Hmmm. I am not convinced that The Netherlands will qualify this year. The song does sound very Dutch, but it's not the music that even appeals to most the people in The Netherlands.
After listening to the 5 versions (although the clips were so similar), I think the girl group may have the edge. I think they are the only ones who could possibly make the song sound half decent. Plus, when I heard the song I thought it was so typically Frans Bauer and surprise surprise he is coaching them.
I'm thinking it'll be Loekz for The Netherlands with the hope of dragging a poor song out of the 1960s.
I've just seen the short clips and all I can say now is OH MY GOD! Netherlands, why?
god, poor netherlands!
I thought it couldn't get worse.. obviously it can get worse.. and I thought the TROS would have at least the intelligence to know that you shouldn't let people who aren't even capable themselves of bringing quality to coach.. and bring their own trash along.
HELLO THESE COACHES ARE ALREADY C-ARTISTS.. except for Frans Bauer who is quite good in his genre.. but horrible nevertheless.
And Vinzzent is a D-artist..
Thanks for screwing up so fast TROS
as I've said before, the only way for me to like this song would have been if it was performed by a metal group. I see happy little girls and male singers. naaah. better luck next year....
I have just relistened to Pierre - why could he not sing as the demo? Its fab
I LOVE THIS SONG!!! This will appeal to many of different ages I reckon
It has to be Vincent
He made the song a little different and I think it suits better to a male voice... I am confident for a top 5 palcing for Netherlands
I really like the girl group singing the song, they sound good and
Sinneke. I really believe this song can be made good. It was really nice to see them singing "Ik ben verliefd" finally.
Honestly, I think it's great that Netherlands try sending some of their typical music and sing in Dutch. I think the only minus about the song is that it repeats "shala-lie" so much. Other than that it has a great melody for that type of music and why shouldn't that genre also be welcome in Eurovision?
A great song by Marlous: http://www.youtube.c(...)/watch?v=zOtNf3-e-_8
I knew it from the moment I read there was a girl group that they would destroy it. Loekz were bad.
Sieneke and Marlous were good and I liked their voices. Marlous also seemed to have a bubbly personality so she could make a good stage appearance. I think the song will sound quite nice if they sing it.
I am so glad that there are other people in this world with a taste different than the people on this site (who often have a terrible taste and get the poll winners wrong often) and that they can enjoy this song, including me.
It's the best winner so far and those two girls can make it good.
I watched the clips of them singing it, and well OK it didn't make much difference for me i'm afraid
I mean, they're all obviously good competent singers but I can't get my head around the song. I know sometimes a good singer can turn a mediocre song into something good but this song is beyond mediocre, it's just bad! For example, you can put a very nice hat on a pig, but at the end of the day, it's still a pig
Sieneke has the strongest vocal I wish for her to Go to Oslo and hopefully the song is remodified by then. she would have a great jazz voice
I don't like this at all..... this song sucks.. and will suck in any interpretation- lol, i do believe in miracles.., but not in that case...this song is seems to be hopeless....
What's Cilla Black doing clapping along with Sieneke?

OMG, I actually feel sorry for those singers, especially the one who wins. Oh well, a free trip to Oslo at least.
Gosh, one of these poor souls has to sing this dreadful song! At least it's in Dutch though.
I think LOEKZ are the best singers but Sieneke sang the song the best.
I can't wait for the Nationaal Songfestival. I will certainly not dismiss the song until I've heard the different versions of it
WOW I like the version by Loekz!! This should win!! Its summerish, they can sing, they look good!
! ATTENTION PEOPLE !
You can listen an example of the song from the artists already!
LOEKZ: http://www.youtube.c(...)ture=player_embedded
Sieneke: http://www.youtube.c(...)ture=player_embedded
Vinzzent: http://www.youtube.c(...)ture=player_embedded
Marlous: http://www.youtube.c(...)ture=player_embedded
Peggy: http://www.youtube.c(...)ture=player_embedded
Utterly hopeless. The song is so bad that it wouldn't make the slightest difference who sings it. I'm even surprised that there are people who actually want to sing it!
Well you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear and unless this song suddenly sounds completely different, there isn't much hope. I'm not encouraged that Dutch people also seem to think that it's fairly hopeless
@ Marc King
I think you could say: Getting from bad to worse or something similar to it
Hmm, let's see how things go. Will be quite interesting hearing a girl group sing this song.
Honestly, dear neighbours, I couldn't care less. Sorry and good luck anyway! You'll need loads of it ...
@ w s
Yes thats true its hard to find any positive comments haha and you know the TROS turned down a few big eurovision composers mid 2009...even the composers of zeljko!
