A1 would be delighted to represent Norway in Eurovision

Esctoday.com is present in the arena in Skien tonight, and got to talk to Mark Read from A1. They had a spontaneous comeback in Norway in the summer of 2009, because when invited over to a TV show (Allsang på Grensen) by Christian Ingebriktsen, and it all started from there. After that they had some concerts in Oslo in December 2009.

When A1 got a request from NRK to send in a song for MGP, they were thinking about it for a long time, because they had never even thought about doing such a thing before. They were thinking about making a song especially for the Eurovision, but decided to send in three songs, and let NRK pick the best one. NRK then picked the song Don't Wanna Lose You Again. Their new album will be out in spring/summer 2010, starting off in Norway, and then A1 will take it from there. They have been in touch with Universal in the UK, so it is possible that this comeback will spread througout Europe.Mark told us that A1 really would be delighted to represent Norway in the ESC at Fornebu Arena, and that this could be a great kick off for their comeback in Europe.

Talking about their performance tonight, Mark said that they are really confident with their song, but that the competition is really hard. A lot of famous artists is in this year, so anything could happen.

Marks sends a special greeting to all of A1's fans all over Europe saying he really wishes to see all of them again as a result of their comeback.

Sara
I can never understand times when TV channels in other countries have broadcast sport at the same time as the national selection contest. I know France have shown rugby matches at the same time as Eurovision.
I don't think for our selection contest that the main UK channels would ever do that.

Well
After I watched the semi-final on the web, I was wondering why on Earth if they wanted to do it they chose to represent Norway rather than Uk, as they are 2/3 UK, but if 1 member is Norweigian than I guess that's OK.
I think its very interesting NRK have approached A1 for Eurovision.
I remember seeing A1 in the charts when I was at a young boy and never would I thought they might give Eurovision a go.
I hear they got to the final.
I wish them the best of luck for the national final and if they manage to win the Norweigian ticket, then that will make the Grand Final a whole lot interesting. I shall firmly be supporting the UK's entry, but after that if A1 get through than from 1 Brit to the British lads, then I hope they finish well as well.
Good luck to you, A1!

I wonder if there will be a lot of Norwegian people who's going to watch the European Championship in handball at 20:00 (Norway - Ukraina) instead of MGP (and that will reflect the result). I'm not sure yet, but I think I will tape MGP and watch it right after the handball game is finished. (I'm a sportaholic, hehe).

So, if I decide to do that , I wont be here "live" with you guys....but I'll be back right afterwards... :)

Good luck!!!

Good luck with your comeback guys! (as if they're reading this :P ) I wouldn't be too upset if they represented us even if 2/3 of them are British, lol. Their song is better than some of the other potential winners at least.

@Circus and everyone else who has problems viewing

You need to click on "Innstillinger", then "Ta testen", then "Lagre". It is measuring your internet speed so you can watch it or something.

Further down you can choose to view with either Windows Media Player or Silverlight. Lagre = save.

Ozi:
Ben and Mark are British and they live in UK, but they have been staying in Norway for a while know producing their new record.. Btw. the 4th songwriter of "Don't wanna lose you again" (David Eriksen) is also Norwegian, so it's 2 Norwegians and 2 British who represent the song. :)

I really hope their comeback will spread all over Europe. Of course they would be delighted and honored to represent Norway :) (it will bring more money in the moneybag too)

Watch Ben Adams from A1 doing 5 tasks to becoming a Norwegian (funny) :D

(btw. The sentance which Christian learned Ben: "Jeg har liten tiss" does NOT mean "Hello, my name is Ben. I love my mother". It means "I have a small weenie" LOL!)

Watch how A1 gets ready for MGP:

I have a question, out of the 3 members in A1 only one of them is actually an ethnic Norwegian; are the other two Norwegian citizens or live in Norway?

They're such nice guys. I was never that aware of them back ten years ago but I like their new songs. They still have quite a young sound, definitely not as mature as Robbie Williams or Take That, but with a good degree of quality. I hope they'll do well in the UK again regardless of how they fare in MGP.

Keep of Kalessin will probably win anyway.
