The only song that can do well is Catarina's Canta por Mim.
@ Ana María:
Coral has a guaranteed spot in the final. She has like 200.000 votes until now, no need to vote for her anymore. Better if you help acts that are close to drop from the Top 10. That's José Galisteo, Fran Dieli, Anabel Conde and Ainhoa Cantalapiedra. I am quite sure the freak numbers (El pezón rojo, John Cobra) will be disqualified sooner or later, so these acts I mentioned above still have chances of grabbing a place in the final.
In my opinion, it's always better to have a jury or 'experts' making a preselection, like in the Portuguese case. Their criteria might be not be the best and the songs they choose could be average. But they exclude the freak acts, at least. Look what's happening right now in the Spanish voting. The Neandethals from a car forum are voting like crazy for the crappiest songs to mock on Eurovision. I hope it's the last year of this 'open voting'.
I have done this account just to say that more than never all the eurofans of Spain need you help. Just a call for all those europeans who love the contest.
Coral need your votes, all the freaks supported by other channels, radio ... are going to get the pole position.
This is a video that i have done whith English SUBTITLES, if you want to see English lyrics in a fan video just:

Lovely Catarina sings Canta Por Mim

I'm sorry, but I'm in love with this girl... lol
She's really cute but in a simple and fresh way that I like... and I actually like her voice.
It will be so sad if Portugal let this entry become unknown...
I'm excited for how they're gonna perform it... it must go to Oslo... at least I hope so!
Does anyone know when can we hear Catarinas complete song? as well as the others lol
Well well, not too bad again from portugal this year, some songs caught my attention yet again. Unfortunately they didn't make the top 3 in the vote on the web, but last year same thing happened, the one song that caught my attention was not in top 3 but did go on to win Festival da Cancao!
So here is my veredict on the top three from the online voting.
Felipa Azevedo- Not a bad song at all, sounds nice, but the big problem is that the ballad type song would need to be big and a song that would push the singer vocally and be sang with outsdandingly good vocals in order to make an impression at Eurovision and am not saying this girl can't deliver that because I don't really know her so will have to hold judgement till I see her singing it. That said am not sure the ballad is big enough!
Nuno e Fabia- Better than last Year but am afraid still not good enough, what's wrong with it? Well most things in Eurovision terms. Doesn't really fit in with Eurovision, sounds more like a filler track to make up numbers.
Nina Pinto- Well the start to this song is not good as it's too depressing and initially the music sounds like something that belongs to one of those Arty foreign films! It sort of gets better but just not sure it would work at Eurovision, that said Patricia Kaas did well last year and this could sort of be a bit like her entry in the sense that it perhaps didn't quite fit in, only problem is Patricia Kaas is well known and that helped a lo,t where as Nina isn't.
Good luck Nina!
I adore CESARIO EVORA
... and, ''What I've been lookin for'' is my favourite... she sounds amazing on it!
Oh... I found right now on YT that Catarina Pereira played Vanessa Hudgens' character "Gabriella" in the portuguese musical theater version of ''High School Musical'', in 2008.
Great!
Catarina Pereira in High School Musical:
''I can't take my eyes off of you"
I Can't Take My Eyes Off of You
''When there was me and you''
http://www.youtube.c(...)/watch?v=8BtgtV_Whho
''What I've lookin' for''
http://www.youtube.c(...)/watch?v=FybVCNKUfZo
''We're all in this together''
http://www.youtube.c(...)/watch?v=xRFOu-h7Ln8
Once again, although other songs are above it in the chart of the online voting, I hope it doesn't mean anything.
I heard all the songs again, and I still think "Catarina Pereira" is the best choice Portugal could make.
If they are smart enough, I think they can do an interesting stage performance with that song.
And the girl looks cute and also has a cute tone in her voice.
Once more, be smart Portugal!... And take risks, please!
(By the way, Senhora do Mar (Vania Fernandes - 2008) by Portugal, was my favourite entry that year. Unfair results.)
From all the songs yo have this year, I believe Catarina's one, is the only song that can surprise in Oslo, honestly talking.
I can't believe if Nucha is still popular after her terrible entry in 1990. Her song this year is no better or last year terrible terrible. It's just as people from all over Europe have been voting on the net for the worst songs just so their country might have more change because every thing is upside down. If this is going to be the result I would advice people to pray for qualification to the final.
@Laila
...Your words ..."So I think I have already accepted that some people like what I consider crap, but that doesn't mean I can't have an opinion on it."... I agree with you 100%, you can have an opinion about anything you want, you have that right, everyone has that right.... But you also have the right to keep your opinions to yourself... you can also be a bit more respectful of other peoples opinions... remember???? we all have that right... Besides you never heard the expression "one mans trash is other mans treasure" ????. it's easier to be be nice... try it ;O)

It's deffinetly - V-Boy will qulify!! YAY!
OK, I've popped over to check things out. Yes the deadline is almost here and my favourite songs are going to make it through, among them I point out four: Nina's, Ouro's, Filipa Azevedo's and Seis po' Meia Dúzia's.
I do not share at all the enthusiasm behind 'Canta para mim' - unoriginal, insipid and tepid piece. Catarina in Portugal and Hera in Iceland are two sides of the same coin.
i hope catarina win´s

@ Laila ♥ YEUROVIZJON!
If you write in certain ways, be ready that people will react the same way toward you.
So you think that calling people "mindless sheep" tolerating their opinions?
I don't ask for you to like anything else than your own taste, but you can act classy while saying it.
Constantly acting like you are better than other and even calling them such things as "mindless sheep" is very unclassy and it's very low to discuss such a simple thing that way... I mean c'mon? Is this a political board?
Nope.. it's about music and people do have different taste and you are not better than people who have other taste than you.
If you start discussing with respect, you will get respected back. It's pretty easy. You can disagree without calling people different stuff.
@New in Town
I don't respect something I don't like. I TOLERATE. Tolerating other peoples taste doesn't mean I can't express my opinion on it. And if you accept other peoples opinions so much, why do you feel a need to continuously comment back to them?
You should read your own comments before calling me arrogant and get off your own "high horse". You are no better by the way you comment. Everyone sounds arrogant in here when typing their opinions on songs being "crap or no good".
I am not surprised and I don't care how you people react, it's your problem if you can't handle it because I don't owe anyone of you anything. End of discussion from my side.
@laila
I welcome every music style in Eurovision even if I don't like it. It's good for variation and for others who like it.
Then why do the genre of music of Catarina Pereira gets on your skin? Also i think its only natural for a country to send genres of music that tend to do well in esc.
Portugal have sent lots of slow pace songs as well as traditional inspired ones and they didn't work. I think its time for them to send something different.
Portugal should not be used as a country that sends quality songs to a contest that is about everything except quality. What i mean is that some can agree that Portugal should send a quality song but then go and vote in a trashy one for their country.
If Portugal wants to win they have to try what works, and Catarina song is in a genre that usually works so i think its the perfect shot for them.
@ Laila ♥ YEUROVIZJON!
You obviously have very little respect for other people's opinions... if you call people quote; "mindless sheep"... if they like something you don't like... then it's very arrogant and disrespectful.
I mean even if we don't think alike, atleast we could discuss with respect, but you constantly act extremely arrogant toward other people in here so why are you surprised that people react on that?
I mean it's just music we discuss right? We all have different opinions but you put yourself on high horses constantly not just dissing songs... but dissing people on this boars who do not share your taste.
@david lopez
sorry but ESC fans are tired of jokes, unfortunately there are already too many and what may be trash to you could possibly be good to others.
And ESC fans never get tired of trash? Also, I would say the same thing back to you. What you think is a bad joke entry might not be to others. I don't consider every band who uses humour as a "joke entry".
I welcome every music style in Eurovision even if I don't like it. It's good for variation and for others who like it. It's up to people to vote for it after all and maybe they would have wanted Homens da luta. Anyway, no problem anymore as they're already out of the competition.
@New in Town
Except I didn't make up ANYTHING about you, YOU did. So I think I have already accepted that some people like what I consider crap, but that doesn't mean I can't have an opinion on it.
I didn't direct my comment to anyone either, it's all general speaking, so maybe you should accept my comments/opinions too and just ignore me, we don't agree about much anyway.
@ Laila
