BTRC call for songs

The national Belarussian broadcaster BTRC has officially called for songs today. As already announced, this year's Belarussian selection of their representative for Eurovision 2010 will be run internally following rejection to ONT's EBU membership application. The submissions deadline has been set on February 15th, and no restrictions as to the nationality of both performers and songwriters have been made.

The 2010 Belarussian selection for Eurovision will be run by an internal jury, which will assess all the materials submitted to the broadcaster. The decision on the candidate to represent Belarus next May in Oslo will be made no later than March 10th. Also, a back-up singer will be selected in case the official representative is not able to perform.

All those interested in applying for the Belarussian national Eurovision process can do so by sending the song in CD or DVD format together with the lyrics and a filled form. More information can be found here .

Maybe a few good acts from the Moldovan & Romanian NF could send thier material? Or Kirkorov with a song for Koldun/Ani Lorak ( of foreign acts are allowed ) again?

@ San LEGENDA!!!

Yes, Byanka is Belarorussian.

As for their previous entries; I only liked their 2004-2005, but both of these years had bad performances (vocally+accent).

Koldun was also ok, but the song was nothing special I think.

2006 was awful in all aspects, and 2008-2009 was really bad songs aswell.

i love belarus for their entries. they are like the country that try so hard but they can't speak english and attend the remedial class.

god love them!

isn't it the first time that Belarus opts for an internal selection? I can't say I am fond of their songs in ESC till now... I liked 2004 (but what a terrible terrible accent!) and 2007 a bit, but Belarus for me has not really made a statement in ESC yet. I wish them the best and... not another pop/rock song!

Good luck, Belaruss. I really liked Elfimov's voice. Let's hope for a better song this year. Off topic, you have one of my favourite flags in ESC!!

Don't give up hopes for "Veryu Ya" to be picked just yet! I think there might still be a possibility, since the selection was meant to be a collaboration between ONT and BTRC, with "Musical Court" being one of the parts.

Basically, BTRC could ask the rights from ONT for one of the "Musical Court" songs, and I think that would be even easier for them then to try to pick a new one.

About Eastern Slavic singers; true I like quite many. But then again I am partly Slavic so ;)

But Veryu ya" from NF was PURE MAGIC!! :( :(
Still hope for good internal choice!

New in Town
You like Eastern European singers alot! :) :)

Can't they just chose one song from "Musical Court"? I thought from the start it was meant that ONT and BTRC were to co-operate anyhow, so ONT could basically just give them the right to some entry like it was suppose to be.

I still hope that somehow they will pick "Veryu Ya" from Musical Court!

If they are to chose something completely new, then I would chose R&B-folk singer Byanka internally, probably the most famous Belorussian singer with a career in Russia. Her style is pretty cool and I think it could fit Eurovision well.

why is everyone complaining.... theres always one good song in the belarusian final, and the public never choose it, so maybe this time belarus can send something good, maybe it will have to be a foriegner... i think i might send a song in lol

So after all that upheaval thanks to that doofus dictator Lukashenko and the pointless Musical Court, it has come to this!

Pathetic Belarus, PATHETIC!
