Eurosong 2010 third quarter final

Results: Four acts qualified in Slovakia

The third out of six quarter finals of Eurosong 2010, the Slovakian preselection for the Eurovision Song Contest, was held tonight. Out of ten competing acts, four participants qualified for one of the semi finals on 14th and 21st February.

The following acts have qualified tonight:

  • Robo Opatovský - Niečo máš
    (R. Opatovský/P. Konečný)
  • Free Voices - Z osnov
    (R. Bendík)
  • Renata Čonková & Martina Polievková - Dúha
    (E. Čonka/P. Kubica)
  • Martin Konrád - Ja viem
    (M. Konrád)

Complete SMS voting results:
  1. Robo Opatovský - Niečo máš - 15,9 %
  2. Free Voices - Z osnov - 14,2 %
  3. Renáta Čonková & Martina Polievková - Dúha - 13,6 %
  4. Martin Konrád - Ja viem - 13,5 %
  5. Hudba z Marsu - Final song - 12,0 %
  6. Reverz Park - Po kvapkách - 11,9 %
  7. Robo Šimko & Mass Riot - Podľa vlastnej hlavy - 8,1 %
  8. Lekra - Dolina, dolina - 5,7 %
  9. Guru Brothers - Príčina - 4,0 %
  10. Andrea Sulovská - Život - 1,2 %

esctoday.com poll results

The poll voters and the SMS voters in the quarter final widely did not agree. Joint poll winners Renata Čonková & Martina Polievková (26.9%) made it to the final and so did Robo Opatovský, number four in the poll (7.7%). However, joint poll winner Andrea Súlovská did not qualify (in fact, she finished last) and neither did number three Hudba z Marsu (21.2%). Therefore only one act of the poll top three, which together received exactly 75.0% of the votes made it to the final. The other two qualifiers Free Voices and Martin Konrád had finished equal sixth and equal seventh in the poll with 3.8% and 1.9% respectively.

In 2009, Slovakia returned to the Eurovision Song Contest after eleven years and was represented by Kamil Miculcik and Nela Pocisková with the song Let' tmou. The duo finished 18th in the second semi final thus not qualifying for the final.

The problem with Hudba z Marsu's song was the English parts. The song was potentially good but those parts made it look silly and almost made me think of Gipsy.cz. Which is sad because the Slovak parts were really good.

As for the voting in general I don't really understand thing. I just hope that Kristina will be safe for the semis, but it's very unpredictable what will happen.

I'm glad Duha qualified. From these 4 songs I also like Robo. The Free Voices song is just weird.

Laila with this year voting I think Martina Schindlerova is favourite to take 1st place in next QF!! :( And again as you said ppl her like her song the most coz they know her! :S
And how wrong is this year voting I think Save the Cookie won't qualify! :(

The worst part is that the best in this quarterfinal got the dreaded 5th place - Hudba z Marsu! :@ I hope someone else gets disqualified or withdraws again so they can get the ticket. :(

Damn. Slovakia has a terrible taste it seems. They somehow manage to choose all the wrong ones... It's not looking too good so far. All my favourites are out or have no chance at winning so there's not a good chance I will like them this year either.

Strange selection imo. Martin Konrád had the worst song for my taste and Robo Opatovský's song is a bit boring, not as good as his entry last year. The two ladys are simply not my cup of tea ... I am really looking forward to learning how Free Voice's song will sound live though. This one is so strange that I still don't know whether I like it or not. But bloody hell!, where is Reverz Park?
