LIVE
The show is starting!
The two hosts welcome the audience and the eight artists to compete tonight are introduced.
First duel
1. Skanksters - Life is here today
Current esctoday.com poll result: 6th (1.4%)
Skanksters - who qualified as a wildcard for Siste sjansen - consider themselves outsiders in the competition. They still think that their advantage might be that they are able to outnumber soloist Bjørn Johan Muri being a group of six members.
Just like in the semi final, Skanksters deliver a simple but very enthusiastic performance of their happy tune. The stage is colourful, which obviously suits the song best. The vocals are very strong and the audience reacts very positively to this effort. Still, the song might be too much of a stage tune to do well in the Eurovision Song Contest.
2. Bjørn Johan Muri - Yes man
Current esctoday.com poll result: 3rd (17.4%)
Youngster Bjørn Johan Muri, who can be considered a one-man boygroup, presents a very interesting mid-tempo pop song that is very well produced and has a catchy melody, which is not too intrusive. The vocal performance is rather strong and generally, the singer seems to be more confident on stage tonight. The classic performance with background dancers suits the song very well.
Results: Bjørn Johan Muri has qualified for the second round.
Second duel
1. Gaute Ormåsen - Synk eller svøm
Current esctoday.com poll result: 16.0% (4th)
This is the only song på norsk in MGP 2010. Synk eller svøm is a very sticky tune with a perfect arrangement that definitely stands out tonight. Gaute delivers another powerful performance with flawless vocals. This entry might not sink but well swim to the next round and maybe even to the national final in Oslo.
2. Heine Totland - The best of me is you
Current esctoday.com poll result: =7th (0.9%)
This song reached the top four of the second semi final. The best of me is you is a nostalgic up-tempo show tune, which might not be the most popular song tonight among the younger audience. The vocals are strong but the stage performance and the facial expressions are a bit too enthusiastic making the whole effort slightly synthetical. Nevertheless, the audience reacts positively to this one.
Results: Gaute Ormåsen has qualified for the second round.
Third duel
1. Johnny Hide - Rewind love
Current esctoday.com poll result: =7th (0.9%)
Johnny Hide is the second wildcard qualifier and his song is a very reserved love song whose melody cannot be considered overly catchy. The performance is kept simple and therefore does not help making the song more special than it is. Nevertheless, there have been surprising results in Siste sjansen in recent years, so you should not overlook this song!
2. Mira Craig - I'll take you high
Current esctoday.com poll result: 2nd (27.2%)
Mira Craig has qualified for Siste sjansen only last week. She returns with her very special dress, which has obviously not been bought off the peg. The stage lift is still impressive and Mira's unusual voice, which seems to be in better shape tonight, still suits the style of the song perfectly. This was probably the strongest reaction by the audience tonight so far.
Results: Mira Craig has qualified for the second round.
Fourth duel
1. Karoline Garfjell - Tokyo night
Current esctoday.com poll result: 5th (7.5%)
Karoline Garfjell presents ne of the most unusual songs tonight as it mixes classic Eurodance with an arrangement that features very slight Asian elements. The vocals are almost flawless and the background dancers, who remind of Gwen Stefani's Harajuku girls fit very well in the overall performance.
2. Venke Knutson - Jealous 'cause I love you
Current esctoday.com poll result: 1st (28.6%)
The queen of the night returns wit her classic 1990s Europop song Jealous 'cause I love you. The performance still suits the song and this is definitely a fan favourite. Nevertheless, it might be a bit too sweet and harmless to actually impress the televoters in the Eurovision Song Contest.
Results: Venke Knutson has qualified for the second round.
The show will be back in half an hour. Please do not forget that you will have to switch to the other webcast link.
The show is back!
First duel of the second round
First, Bjørn Johan Muri performs his song another time and he is followed by Gaute Ormåsen. Both already had to compete against each other in the first semi final of MGP 2010.
Second duel of the second round
Mira Craig will be the first performer of the second duel and she will be followed by Venke Knutson.
Our poll is closed for voting now. You can find the updated results above.
The results are coming in!
Bjørn Johan Muri and Venke Knutson have won the last two spots in the final.

Oh, hell! None of these have been good. All the horrible shit.
That wee Venke one has rightly grew on me now - catchy wee ditty and happy enough.
The Bjorn one is kinda good too - in a 80s sounding, he reminds of Michael J Fox in Back to the future kinda way.
Anyway as long as that smug looking twat Alexander Stenerud doesn't go to Eurovision with what is in my opinion the worst song I have heard this whole Eurovision season I'll be happy.
Give it to me... cos you helped me change my mind who the f**k came up with that shite
Most of the great music in the world happen to not be in Eurovision,
I rest my case
I do prefer this green over the purple
It's much more happier
and like my msn, but suprising green is my least favourite colour
But I think it suits like msn and stuff like that quite well
I think the dark blue background is too dark... I dunno
I'll get use to it... I don't do well with change that well
Sara
I don't know, at first I thought it was groovy, but I think the colours need to be more subtle, it's making my eyes go funny
It needs to be lighter too, but it's good to have a change
Also I doubt I'll ever show my friend that
He doesn't like ESC that much
Guate seems lovely, and he sings perfect too
I really did love the top 4 tonight
Shame they all could't go to the final, and you could have kicked some out
MARKY! :
What do you think of the new design of esctoday? I like it! Now I see it changes from purple to green. I like the talking bubbles too
Markeli:
Just the opposite of me then. I'm a "matvrak" as we say in Norwegian. (hmm, difficult to translate but if I translate the word it it will be something like "food wreck"
..LOL! I almost like all types of food...hehe. I can't imagine someone looking like Bjørn and being english for some strange reason..hehe. Have you told your friend and showed him the video of Bjorn?
Btw. I loved Gaute's comment after Bjørn Johan had beaten him:
"I am so happy for Bjørn Johan. He deserves it so much and I wish him the best from all of my heart. It's been too quiet from him in recent years, so if this can get him back, then I am very pleased with it, "says Gaute".
Gaute is so sweet
Marko
Hmm... She acts and has a similar colour and face to my cousin I suppose
I'm pushing it a bit
But I suppose they are fairly similar
ROFL who's next ?? The rock band !?
Sara
My ideas are always brillant ofc.
I've never tried marmite, and never will
I'm so fussy with food, I basically eat pasta and fruit
I really don't like food
There is a little dude, in a lower year at school, who's kinda chubby with similar glasses
So I suppose so
But omg Bjorn looks and acts so much likes one of my friends, it's freaky !
@ Marky
Do you know somebody like Mira Craig!?
Markeli:
I like your idea for Maria A. Simple and pure (and maybe the northern light in the background). You should send her a mail...you could be her personal styler..hehe
LOL! The comment of Simon in that video was funny.. . "You are the singing version of Marmite, you either love it or hate it". Gosh, my sister had an english boyfriend when she lived over there for some years and he always brought along his marmite when he visited or went o vacation. I tasted it once and it was disgusting.. LOL!
Ahh...so your hairdresser is an Italian stallion then...hehe. Do you have a lookalike for Per Sundnes also? (the little host)..hehe?
Sara
You had me lovely Alex till the fishing part, pfft. hmph. I always do a lot of
's, it's just coz I wrote a lot fo text, so had more chance of them
Maria A just needs to make it sooo simple. I was thinking more like this:
http://www.youtube.c(...)/watch?v=4m7eLjXRCKY
Although I don't find she could do that style
But it's better than the Yohanna-copy, and OMG !! I forgot to tell you, I can't believe it, and I haven't told Stiney yet
But my hairdresser looks so much like Didrik, just a little bit smaller and Itailen !!
ROFL !! I know all the lookalikes of MGP this year
Markeli:
Wow, a lot of smileys tonight..hehe
I know you aren't joking about Venke and your wish for her stage-performance. Its just that you always say things in a funny way
You have to be the joy spreader among your friends. I'm not to keen on Maria Arredondo's dress either...the light blue is too much like Yohanna last year. (but Maria's dress was praised in the Norwegian media, so I don't think she will change it)
Maybe a waterfall or water on stage would have worked...? I'm trying to brainstorm...hehe
.
I know the reason I find him weird... JIM CAREY !!
LOL! Jim Carrey does have an extremely more mimical face..he does all sorts of faces.. http://www.popsucker(...)cker/ohdeargodno.jpg
I like Alexander S. He moved from the busy city center to live on a car-free idyllic island just outside of Oslo. He drives around with his grasstrimmer in his garden, picking apples, has started fishing and picks up nuts on his way to and from the bus going to work each day... LOL!
@Sara
I don't hate him, it's the song I don't like at all. I have no special opinion about him, I don't vote for the people I like, but the song.
@Keith Timmons
And your trademark is to be a rude and irritating besserwisser. What is wrong with you anyway? You really think you know my taste? What I have liked over the 50+ years of Eurovision and not? Based on what? Some songs I have not liked this one year?
FYI Eurovision is great fun for me and I find something I like EVERY f'ing year. YES, there is a lot of CRAP in Eurovision, but then there are the few gems every year (from various NFs and don't necessarily win) that make it all worth it. 2009 was a good year, 2010 is looking like it's going to be a bad year for my taste as all my favourites are not likely to win or are already out. So just STFU already. Most of the great music in the world happen to not be in Eurovision, so get off my back already.
Marko:
It seems that I'm like Sweden in ESC, always try with the same thing... and flop...
Maybe you should try something new then. Change direction! (be a little Norwegian..LOL)...then maybe you wil have success. Use a pic of the artist you dislike the most from each country when they have their finals.
I don't think Bjorn would quite work if it wasn't awkward or so easy on stage
Sara
No
I didn't even watch the final, I was out
Maybe that's the secret to ESC, go out and watch the videos back
You may think I am joking about Venke, but I certainly am not
I also hope that Maria's A vocals improve and the performance is changed drastically, just her and a mic, 1 spot light, in a small little white dress
Nothing more nothing else
I still think Didrik will win, but hopefully A1 will just pip him
I don't think he'll be successful at ESC, A1 will be more creditable and have a better chance but hey ho
I don't hate any song in the MGP final, maybe only Alex, but I think I know the reason I find him weird... JIM CAREY !! ( is that his name ) the grinch/bruce almighty
He's like a clone of him
from his voice, looks and movements !! It's all freaky I tell you
Keith:
He's not cute, he's not likeable, he's just awkward and creepy and he makes me feel embarrassed on his behalf. He looks like someone who'd always get bullied in school.
I have no problems with him at all. I actualy think he is cute. If he was bullied in school, now he can just laugh back at them. (I hate bullies!). I don't see him the way you do at all. Creepy? No way. I do prefer A1 over Bjørn to represent us in ESC though. And I also think A1 have an older fan base than Bjørn has (the ones who grew up when they were popular and are in their late 20's and 30's now), but A1 also have a lot of young voters on their side (and perhaps also the generation above that). My mum likes Alexander Stenerud the most, then A1, Maria A. and Didrik.
@ Sara
It seems that I'm like Sweden in ESC, always try with the same thing... and flop...
Yes Iwona is from Poland....
He's not cute, he's not likeable, he's just awkward and creepy and he makes me feel embarrassed on his behalf. He looks like someone who'd always get bullied in school.
lol that's exactly what I thought when I first saw him live. But I loved his song before I saw it!
Markeli:
Ohh...how nice to hear that you are happy tonight
I haven't actually heard the finish song yet, I was afraid that the pensioners would win. Btw. did you see your darlin Rybak in Finland? (I only got to watch him, not the rest of the final. It was the only time my webcast worked) hehe
May I also add, get Venke climbing an effing piano now !! and shoot fireworks from behind her to dance too !! Then she will be my fav quite happily
LOL! You always make me laugh..
Marko:
So now its...NEXT! Iwona Wegrowska, is she from Poland?
A little friendly advice, maybe you shouldn't support the ones you like the way you do (with pics and all), cause that obviously brings bad luck...hehe.
Laila: Why do you dislike Bjørn that much? He seems a bit quirky and shy...and a bit stiff on stage...but what is it to dislike about him?
That's her trademark
She doesn't seem to like Eurovision music much at all, it's a small miracle she's so keen to follow the contests. But seriously, Bjørn Johan makes me cringe every time I see him. He's not cute, he's not likeable, he's just awkward and creepy and he makes me feel embarrassed on his behalf. He looks like someone who'd always get bullied in school. Perhaps he can get a few sympathy votes from mothers and youth workers here and there, but an Alexander Rybak he is decidedly not. Unfortunately his song is quite good. Good enough to steal votes from A1, leaving them with little hope of going all the way next weekend.
Sara
Marky
I'm proud of how you filed tonight's results in Finish final! I still can't believe how on the Earth heli Kajo didn't win, tonight I deffinetly concluded that she was the best!
Sara
I'm happy tonight, this is the first sign for 2010 getting better
I love Finlands entry, and I loved the top 4 of the second chance in Norway
Maybe ESC won't be so awful after all this year
I'm also use to my favs never doing well by now
Markeli and Marko:
So both of my "nephies" lost their favorite ladygirl tonight... Heli Kaijo and Mira.
Maybe its time for the Ice cream bucket now...
She did well for Norway once, why shouldn't she do it this year too?
Marko
Awwww. Don't be sad, it could have been worse, the lights could have set her dress on fire, and she had to jump off her SDF crane, and died... Although I think she would have been in the final if she did that
May I also add, get Venke climbing an effing piano now !!
and shoot fireworks from behind her to dance too !!
Then she will be my fav quite happily
Laila:
Why do you dislike Bjørn that much? He seems a bit quirky and shy...and a bit stiff on stage...but what is it to dislike about him?
