Tiiu Kiik for Oslo!!!!! please
I'm so proud of my "adopted" country Estonia, daring to explore the unknown in ESC terms, and 2 years in a row, coming up with a brilliant range of songs - it's not just about the bing-bong-bos and the key changes, it's about decent music and they've succeeded !!
Haha, it's nearly a pity that Estonia has so many good songs in their national final - nearly each one would get my number 1 in the finals of Malta, Denmark, Slovenia or Iceland...

”The one and only – love” reminds me a little bit of the Twin Peaks theme song...
http://www.youtube.c(...)/watch?v=7oDuGN6K3VQ
...it makes me shiver... LOL! (I was so scared watching Twin Peaks and everytime I heard this song, even though it is really nice, I got this creepy feeling)
”The one and only – love” is a bit too boring on an ESC-stage....if you don't want the public to fall asleep. It would fit perfectly for a TV-series or something.
It's not for ESC because ESC means decades of SAME bad schlager music. Everything evolves but ESC stays and stagnates.
Vast majority of eurofans tend to forget that ESC audience no matter of figures or ratings is mostly more familiar with this kind of music (or any other non-suitable for the contest - hard metal, rap, whatever....) than with europop, schlager or Eastern pop simply because you can hear dance/rock/pop anywhere across the globe, and others you can't.
I'm sure that there could be found more average wiewers from f.e. Georgia and Sweden who can relate to this Goldfrapp-alike tune (as I said this genre has it's audience everywhere), than average Swede who likes Georgian ethno, or the opposite - average Georgian who likes Swedish pop.
I'm not saying that this song will win just that it has way more potential voters among the audience than among the eurofans, and they will choose the winner
@sanka
Oh sorry, I was just, you know, living my life, and I felt that Estonia's horrible song could wait.
Where were you all that time Laila ? this topic was posted many many hours ago and not a single ... comment ... from you so far ? be faster next time. i was really expecting you to post that copy-comment faster
These elvish, electronic tones suit Estona very nicely. I think this could make for an enchanting stage performance in Oslo. The song might be a bit too weird for some people but others such as myself see it as a beautiful song.
It's f'ing ugly and hideous. Worst of them all and I who thought it couldn't get any worse. Now I really dread to hear the rest.
Groundhog Day to Oslo/Bærum PLEASE!!!
@ Norman
True, but still it's a high percentage. Every greek person would tell you what was our entry in 2009 for example.
Good Luck Estonia
I really like this song. Estonia, Latvia, and Portugal will probably be my favourite NFs this year.
I dunno, maybe I heard the Eurovision 2008 album was the most bought album in Serbia ever. But Serbia do well in Eurovision (mostly), so I expected it to be really popular over there
We need to take it in to perspective when talking about television ratings. Ratings count the amount of people watching the show who were tuned in to a television programme that night. It doesn't mean that because the viewer rating was 80% that 80% of Greeks watched Eurovision, it means that 80% of people who watched TV were watching it.
Paschalis
That's GREAT!
Jack
Eurovision 2008 was the most watched show in Serbia ever
We were hosts and all ppl knew that, but of course that wasn't the most watched show ever!!
How you can say that when even Belgrade Arena was half empty for the first semi final!
And I wrote already "Molitva" recieved 5638 votes in 2007 Beovizija final!!
You can check on Wikipedia if you don't believe....
I like it - very nice song!
Different choice.I may love it!
Go ESTONIA, GO!
I thought I'd read somewhere before that at the time, Eurovision 2008 was the most watched show in Serbia ever. And I thought the Eurovision album also sold very well there...I was sure ESC was very popular in Serbia.
In the UK, I think it is starting to become more popular (well, I think more watched in 2009 than in 2008, and "Fairytale" reached #10 in our chart). I think 2009 had a peak of about 9.6million during the voting - and I hear the BBC pays more than any other country, so they must think it's worth the money
@ caven dish
"Reminds me of Nitin Sawhney - spark"
YES! God I LOVE Nitin Sawhney.
...and I LOVE this! Gorgeous!
Tiiu Kiik for Oslo!!
@ Marko
I found this about the 2009 ratings in Greece:
Television ratings for last night's Eurovision Song Contest peaked at 87.5% on ERT. The ratings hovered in the high 70%'s from the early stages of the show, going into the 80%'s during the songs. The most vierwes tuned in during 23:45 and 23:59 CET, during the voting, however by the time it was well clear that Norway were the runaway leaders that figure dropped a couple of percentage points.
ESC is the television program with the highest ratings in Greece every year since 2005!
Marko
Ohh , but I hope it will become more populare there and I think it will
In sweden it's just getting less and less populare :/ but next week Melodifestivalen starts
I am so exited
I expect at least 3-4 million will watch it in sweden anyway.
estonia!
SEND ROLF JUNIOR! THE REST SUCKS!
rold junior is the on ly oen w ho will get u to final! and actually will get into top10 hopefully!
Patte
I doubt
, that's why I think Bregovic must choose somebody who is popular here If they wanna more ppl to follow ESC!
And I agree Violina feat. Rolf Junior FTW!
OMG I've just seen who entred into Serbian VIP BB house, and I can't stop laughing.....
90% seems such an impossible number .. though it might be true . In here it was about 400 000
There is only one winner here and its Rolf junior
Marko I think its becoming more and more populare in Serbia though.
I will be happy if here 10-20 % watch ESC!
In 2007 Beovizija "Molitva" recieved 5638 votes in the final!
that tells me how many ppl watch ESC here!
And "Molitva" won in ESC!
But it's true! And in 2005 during Helena's performance it was about 90%!!!!
