Tonight: First heat in Germany
The show
The show to be broadcast on Pro 7 will start at 20:15 CET and it will be hosted by Sabine Heinrich and Matthias Opdenhövel in Cologne. Ten acts will perform cover versions of famous songs and five of them will be chosen to reach the second stage of the competition. Along with another five qualifiers to be chosen next week, they will meet again in the first elimination round on 16th February. A jury will give advice. Head judge Stefan Raab will be joined by two guests: Singer and actress Yvonne Catterfeld and singer and former actor Marius Müller-Westernhagen.
How to watch?
There will be no official webcast, but all performances will appear on the official website shortly after the show. A full live report will be provided here on esctoday.com.
Pro 7 is available on satellite. You can find detailed information on how to receive the channel here.
The participants
The ten contestants are being kept a secret until the live show tonight.
In 2009, Germany was represented by Alex Swings, Oscar Sings! with the song Miss kiss kiss bang. The duo finished 20th in the final with 35 points.

I read the rumour that Meri Voskanian is among the 20 finalists. She took part in the German idol show a few years ago and was among the Top 12 that year.

The ARD will only show the quarter final (5. March) and the final (12. March) on TV. The other shows will be on Pro 7.
The stage is nice. You can see it in this video (from 04:00). The man and woman speaking with Raab are the hosts.

But none of the singers in these videos are among the 20 best.
Sometimes Pro7 will put a whole show online shortly after they showed it on TV, but I don't know yet if "Unser Star für Oslo" will be such a show. But I am sure that at least the performances of the singers will be online somewhere.

Hello, i cant wait to see the show. I am very happy that the ARD and Raab are working together. I hope it will be next year too.

It's good to see it start... But I have to admit that I've got some desastrous attentions - don't know why... our results in recent years aren't given to bring the same euphoria year after year...
hopefully, Stefan Raab can save us a third time...

No! I really like her and "Für Dich" is AMAZING song and video! I always wanted Yvone to represent Germany in ESC, I think she will be just right thing for ESC and I know many ppl who also wanna her in ESC!
