Timbaland to compose Azeri entry?
[UPD] Azerbaijani final to be held by March 1st
Last February 2nd, the semifinal in Azerbaijan was held. Three acts won a spot in the final, to take place by March 1st in Baku, and not on February 25th, as Ictimai TV previously announced. Milk & Kisses, Safura Alizadeh or Maryam Shabanova will be chosen as the country's third representative at the Eurovision Song Contest. The decision will be taken by the jury alone.
Moreover, the Azerbaijani Head of Delegation, Adil Karimli, has revealed that "about ten composers have applied to compose the song" that will represent Azerbaijan in Oslo. "The songs will be received by February 20. The opinion of the jury will be taken into consideration while selecting the song. Unlike in previous years, the selected song will be performed by all three qualifiers and the jury will pass a decision", Karimli has stated. This means that the songs performed at the semifinal were not the actual entries in the competition, but just a way to check the hopeful's performing abilities.
Nonetheless, according to APA, the author of the song to be performed by the Azerbaijani representative in Eurovision 2010 is already known. Famous American producer Timbaland will compose the song, the news agency claims. Timbaland has closely collaborated with Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Nelly Furtado and is now working with Rihanna, to name a few.

****** **** ************ ******!
who are you to tell me what to say ? Why can i notice a pattern in here ? If anyone saysa negetive comment about you then they are bashed and called stupid right away , but if users from a particular country spam the forum ( wont name the country , because they would call me racist ) then.... nothing happens. In this case it comes all down to the fact who has more money( i dont think Timbaland wnted to enter the contest himself) - thats a shame because eurovision has such a bad reputation
@ Marko- All songs in English - thats why Eesti laul was created.Was it in English last year ? it tends to be in Estonian this year aswell. As we all know the esc is quite pointless anyway and its about time to use it for something useful : to promo your country's artists for example. And since Kenan said Estonia has no culture ( there is a difference between saying out your option in a rude way and just being stupid, no matter what excuse you might have. you can critizese someones culture as much as you want and i would not have anything against it, but i am sure you are smart enough to know every country and nation , even if thay are influenced by a big neighbour, has culture ) and ofcourse you know all about the freedom of speech ...... ( wont continue it , because it would get too political ). You might not care who composed the entry , but if its all foreign it can represent any country and not have any connection with any particular country .
I am sure i will have lots and lots of replies after posting this and that would prove my point . Go ahead call me whatever you want , doesent bother me
@Marko
I know, I was just a bit angry to sanka coz of his rude comments ( as always
)!
But I hope now that this will be a good understanding for him not to say what he want!
@sanka
Maybe u are jealous, coz Timbaland is a really good composer! And that what Azerbaijan is trying should be an example to all the ESC-countries, coz no one of the countries tries so hard for a victory like Azerbaijan-RESPECT!
Sanka
Yes also you critisize it for English language, and Estonia sent almost all songs in English lang.!
Kenan
That's not true, all countries have culture, Estonia has very reach one, believe me!
Sanka
I really don't care who is composer of Azerbaiajni song or Estonian, or Serbian or UK song! I only care if song will be smth I can like and that's it!! It's so simple...
And my point was thet you critisize Azerbaiajn for not showing their culture in ESC and don't look at your country which also sent many songs without any influence of ethno style carcteristical for Estonia! I can't understand why is so big problem for you if Timbaland will be composer of azeri song! Your country has rule that only Estonian composers are alowed, some other countries doesn't have that rule and that's it!! It's not big deal really!!
*to talk carefully the next time
@sanka
As I said u before, u are too strict about the issue 'freedom of speech', but look what happened now? Every1 is against u! So, I advise u to talk carefully!
@Marko
Estonia hasn't got a culture, that's why they can't participate with an Estonian-style song!
how they show ? they were composed by Estonian composers and as you know Eesti laul has a rule that composers and performers must be citizens. the songs in Eesti laul ( wich isnt made to choose song for esc ) has Estonian popsongs . That is how its shows the culture and national music . and a song in 2006 wasnt chosen by Estonians anyway - you can leave that out.would it be better if Estonia is represented by a Swedish witha song composed by Finn ? how would that represent your country's music. There is a difference between choosing a song that most of people can stand and choosing a song that is good . As i've said before - the winner isnt always the best song , its the song that majority can stand
@Kenan
hehe
@sanka
no offense, but did it ever occure to you that your moaning a bit too much?
just sayin'
sanka
You really are a character
Protection?? Who am i protecting?? from what exactly??
Sanka
Can you tell me how many Estonian entries showd Estonian culture??
Maybe Estonia in 2005 and 2006!! GOSH!!
How does a song in English , composed by a foreign composer represent Azerbaijan's music ? ofcourse i understand that you are trying to protect them and so on , but its ridiculous what countries do. As one person said to me : we will send Europop because our own music might sound too strange and europe doesent like it . isnt the main idea of esc to have variety of cultures and generes ?
@Sabina
HAHA, gr8 pic!
"Sanka from Estonia" Now why does this not sound convincing to me???
Maybe because Estonians don't USUALLY focus their energy on both Turks and Azeri's prehaps???
Timbaland ..... no comments . and excactly how does he represent Azerbaijan's music ? its just another try to get western popularity while thinking your own composers are not good enough . i really hate this kind of thinking
@Kenan pls dont mencion my name in your arguments . thnx
Pinkywings
