Running order for Eirodziesma 2010 revealed

As announced earlier, 10 songs are going to compete for the Latvian ticket to Oslo at the final of Eirodziesma 2010. During the TV show Sems, with the majority of the participants of Latvian national final present, the running order at Eirodziesma 2010 was decided.

Today the Latvian Broadcaster, LTV, hosted a press conference informing about the future participation in the contest. The agreement with the long time partner Ventspils City Council was signed for a continuous support in the coming five years.

The press conference was followed by a live show at a TV studio where the draw determined the running order of the songs:

1. PeR  - Like a mouse
2. Trianas parks - Lullaby for my dreammate (Diamond Lullaby)
3. Aisha - What for?
4. Lauris Reiniks - Your morning lullaby
5. Dons - My religion is freedom
6. Konike - Digi digi dong
7. H2O - When I close my eyes
8. Kristine Karkla - Purina - Rishti Rashti
9.  Ivo Grisnins - Grislis - Because I love you
10. Kristine Zaharova - Snow in July

Among this year's songs, one is sung in an artificially made combination of words and sounds (Digi digi dong) and another song is performed in the Livonian language (Rishti Rashti). The names of several finalists are already well known to Eurovision fans  - Lauris Reiniks (represented Latvia in 2003), Aisha (her 3rd Eirodziesma final), Kristine Zaharova (runner up at the Irish final 2009).

There are two musicians this year although working behind the scenes, but still having their songs in the final competition, worth to mention - Martins Freimanis (penned The War is not over and represented the country at Eurovision 2003), as the author of PeR song, and Guntars Racs who is the lyricist behind Aisha and Kristine Zaharova's songs. Racs wrote the only song in Latvian on the Eurovision stage so far, Dziesma par laimi (2004) and has been the producer of numerous Latvian entries at the European competition (Bonaparti.lv, Valters&Kazha, Fomins&Kleins etc).

The songs are available at Eirodziesma official website .

Eirodziesma 2010 final will take place on February 27th in Ventspils.

Number 8 and 9 are AMAZING and best! (L) I really hope one of them win and not Aisha as I fear. Thankfully they finish almost last so I hope that will be in their favor.

WOW! Well done, Latvia!

So far it seems one of the strongest NF comparing with other countries! There is more than one good song, that for such a tiny country is well-done-job!

Trianas Parks deserve to win, after they presented two fantastic songs in 2008 and 2009 and were ignored. This time, their track is amazing, mysterious and otherwordly. They definitely get my vote! :)

i also love Lauris Reiniks-your morning lullaby!
These 2 are my favourites."Rishti Rashti" more to be honest!
Other than that Aisha-"what for" , Trianas Parks- "lullaby for my dreammate", Grupa H2O- "When i close my eyes" and Ivo Grisnins-Grislis-"because i love you" are good too!Kristine Zaharova- "snow in july" is weak!
All in all, a great final!Better than the estonian i.m.o!

My favorites are Lauris Reiniks and Aisha. Somehow I tend to like more Lauris Reiniks's song. It's more personal and emotional I think. And the melody is awesome. Aisha is great, too, but I've heard that chorus somewhere..don't know... anyway, it will be a good and interesting final!

Great line-up, but I think that I like 'Like a mouse' a bit more than the others. But whichever song Latvia will send in the end, it will probably be very near the top of my list. Good luck!

Lauris - Love it.
PeR - Love it.
H2O - Think I like it.
Dons - Like it.
Projekts Konike - Interesting..
Aisha - L.O.V.E. (L) (L) (L)
Kristine Karkle-Purina - I love Strazdassy stuff xD although this is way different.. interesting again..
Ivo Grisnins - Grislis - Nice listenable song
Kristina Zaharova - Nice one
Trianas Parks - Haunting..

Risti Rasti is a very special one. I like the relaxing intrumental sequence at the end of the song. Close your eyes when listening to it and enjoy. ,-)
The long insrumental part gives me sopmehow reminiscences to "Nocturne". Would be nice seeing and listening to Risti Rasti in Oslo.

@ Iwona

Thanks for the link, I had already seen the link you gave in the norwegian article and listened to the songs. I liked Bryan Rice and Joakim Tranberg a lot, even more than before when I had just listened to the snippets. Can't wait to listen to the rest.

"Rishti Rashti" is very interesting song in Livonian language which speak only 35 people now! :) That's why I found this song very interesting and good... tho I think it needs more lyrics, half of the song is only music! :D

Hmm... i think i tend to like Aisha's song because they use acordion.though the song itself is a bit overloaded with different sounds
