Georgia: Over 100 entries submitted
Georgian public broadcaster (GPB) has announced that, by the decision of producing team of First Channel that the country will be represented by 23-year-old Sopho Nizharadze at the 55th Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Oslo, Norway.
Georgia was represented in the Eurovision Song Contest for the first time in 2007, when Sopho came 12th with her song "My Story.” In 2008, Diana Gurtskaya improved that record by one place, reaching the 11th place with "Peace Will Come.”
Last year - "Stephane & 3G" with the song “Put In Disco” were selected as the Georgian entry for the Eurovision Song Contest through Georgia’s national competition. Later, Georgia had announced withdrawal from the Eurovision Song Contest 2009.

Well maybe that one wins? hahahaha
Anyway, I think in MF most songs are compromised with schlager. So even if they are rock, ballad or whatever.. many still have that schlager sound mixed... which is kind of sad 
Maybe this year will be differently.

I guess he meant he doesn't want Georgia to send one of those "Swedish influenced" type of songs (schlager for instance)...
and with that I can agree... I don't even want Sweden itself to send it so hahaha.

If I'll get kids later.. I'll name one Sopho.. I love that name Hoping for something good from Georgia, they put a lot of effort in JESC and I don't doubt that's the same with ESC.

Visionary Dream is an awesome song no doubt, but IMO Verka wasn't crap 
He was original and very entertaining.
'Visionary Dream' was EXTREMELY UNDERATED in Helsinki... It was a fantastic song especially compared to the garbage that was Verka Serducka!
I agree with others on here; I hope for something beautiful and ethnic and hopefully in Georgian... or even Russian

I liked your 2009 entry "We don't wanna put in" I think it was hillarious that you had to withdraw.....but "Visionary dream" from 2007 was THE BEST.... of course it would be incorrect and unfair from me to say that Diana Gurtskaya was not good as well...but Visionary dream was maybe one of the best songs in Helsinki! You have really nice singers and I know you will surprise me in positive way this year ! Greetings from friendly Croatia! Keep up a good working!

@ Sara - thanks for the link . Road salt is fantastic . i think most people will like " i did it for love " - its regular and mainstream enough and its nothing too different. it probobly suits a regular european , but not me

She can sing but has boring songs, so I really hope the 5 picked are not in the style presented to us up to now.
I REALLY hope for something ethnic and I would love to hear something in Georgian.
