Tonight: National final in Cyprus
The show
The show to be broadcast on RIK1 and RIKSAT will start at 20:15 CET (21:15 local time). It will be hosted by Andreas Georgiou. Nine acts will perform one song each and the winner will be chosen by a mixture of televoting (50%) and jury voting (50%).

A webcast is provided for international viewers here (requires Real Player). The show will also be broadcast live on RIKSAT and ERT1.

In 2009, Greece was represented by Christina Metaxa. She finished 14th in the second semi final thus not making it to the final. It was the fourth year in a row that Cyprus did not qualify for the final of the Eurovision Song Contest.

@Phantom Matt, I know that, but I started the stream early so that I don't get locked out. (the RIK SAT stream is notorious for reaching its viewer limit very quickly) It seems the stream is choppy for some reason, cutting in and out.

Good luck Cyprus!Cybc should reconsider uploading the songs at least a weak before the final...I read that the favourites are 3.i can';t express any opinion but i wouldn't like to see constantinos Christoforou again!3 times are enough and i find his voice weak and irritating..I think that most of the times the cypriot televoters decide based on their favourite or most famous singer and not on the song itself.That's wrong!

Konstantinos is the entry like B&H 2006 and Nicole paparistodimou is like cyprus 2004 (same composer)....they are both favorite
I loved Deep Zone's song, pitty they are disqualified!

well according to reports from dress rehearsals the favorites to win are angel which is a balad ethnic dressed in white (too B&H 2006), nicole paparistodimou which is a Witney Huston style balad but her voice was a bit unstable and island of love which is 15 music styles in a 3 minute song. its too memorable but the table on the stage is unneccesary (whoever will watch tonight contest will understand what i mean) lol

Mmmm not expecting much myself, we are used to the kinds of shows RIK puts up for us here, some of the names are known to us either as composers or performers. Not sure about Constantinos trying for the 4th time, they say his song is rather good and he is a pro, however it would be good to have some fresh faces accross our screen. Mike Konnaris has yet to convince me after the beautiful 'Stronger every minute', he has been in the finals before but with nothing remarkably better or as good as that. The dark horse and much talked about is ofcourse 'Island of love', tacky as it may sound, a mixture of all kinds of music all in 3' (or so they say). Maybe it stands out, afterall it has among other tings been called 'emetic'! Come watch with your sick backs lol Good luck to all, hope the one with the best potentials wins.

I just want to say ( if u would 100% vote tonight ), that if u can vote for Constantinos? I liked his entry in 2005 'Ela Ela'! And I'm sure it's another great entry and similar to that song!
