Tonight: National final in the Netherlands

Tonight, the Dutch national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 will be held. Five acts will compete in the Nationaal Songfestival 2010 for the ticket to Oslo to become the Netherlands' 52nd representative in the competition.

The show

The show to be broadcast on Nederland 1 will start at 21:15 CET and it will be hosted by Yolanthe Cabau van Kasbergen. All five acts in the running will perform the song Ik be verliefd (Sha-la-lie) written by Pierre Kartner. The winner will be chosen by a jury of four people and the audience in the studio.

How to watch?

A webcast will be made available on the official website here. The press conference with the winning artist will be streamed there as well.

Participants

  1. Sieneke
  2. Vinzzent
  3. Marlous Oosting
  4. Peggy Mays
  5. Loekz

In 2009, the Netherlands were represented by De Toppers, who finished 17th in the second semi final with their song Shine thus not making it to the final. It was the fifth year in a row that the Netherlands did not appear in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest.

Come on, Vinzzent is pathetic. It's a cheerful song, but he makes it sound boring! He better send a ballad next time.

I like Marlous's version best :)
LOEKZ's version sounds weird with all those misplaced ethnic sounds :/

@ w Z
Now you can see who is negative in this site!! :(
If that's me...then NO COMMENT!! :(

@Marko

"The Netherlands" won't be deciding tonight .. our fate is in the hands of The Father and the TROS Maffia in the building :P

Do you really trust people who go crazy for this :D :

Knowing that my country has no chance at all, makes it much easier to enjoy the show tonight. And I am sure it will be entertaining and great. Poor Cyprus may have some illusions about qualifiyng, the Dutch know better by now. So watch NF tonight.

@ Stockholm
Thanks! :)

WOW I like Marlous's version, If she goes that will be my favourite Dutch entry since Edsilia Rombley in 2007!!
Then Loekz's version is so -so, quite messy and Vinzzent's version is the worst! :S
Please choose carefully The Netherlands!! (K)

Robin
Thanks for the links. I'm sure there will be an entertaining show tonight ;)

Iwona
Scroll down for Loekz's version

@ Laila

I'm afraid there definitely will be family.. (giving LOEKZ the best chances) or TROS members ( giving Sieneke the best chances).

The version posted here was the right one indeed, her other version was carnavalesque in the not-so-exotic way. That person said that he loved the music in her entry, so he did like her, but was disappointed by her performance on stage. She has gone through a lot this week, the Dutch NF is not interesting enough for international ESC sites so you have probably missed it, but untill Thursday this week her participation was unsure, she's also been shifting with versions and there was a major conflict between her manager and her coach. That could have played a part. So maybe she will be perfect tonight.

The audience deciding thing is really sick, there will be some trashers among them for sure because the tickets were free and Baarn(studio) is in the exact centre of the country, there will be TROS members who are not quite known for their broad music taste, and there will be family, LOEKZ is with 6 or 5.. if they all bring mom and dad along you'll have like 12 family members already. VS. Around 10 from the rest :P

@michael UK

if you want to listen to real ethnic dutch songs listen to artists like andre hazes or koos alberts.. you'll see that their songs have nothing to do with this piece of has-been trash

I think the Dutch entry is probably going to be the most cheerful and happy song this year. It just makes me smile every time I hear it.

@Purple Cow
Maybe if we are lucky there won't be any family invited to the audience... :S
The link to her version was posted on this thread among the other two. I am assuming that's the version she'll perform tonight too?
Well, taste and opinions vary. Maybe what that person you know didn't think she was good, but maybe I (and hopefully others) will.

I look forward to the show at least.

M . r
the eurovision was founded to bring nations together but also to show different cultures so it sint nationalist if dutch people want their country to enter a song more western sounding, andfor those in the east to send songs with eastern sounds. thats perfectly natural

By audience in the studio? TROS is a really stupid station :/

@ M.r.

I'd love to see a discussion of the Dutch entry in parliament.. would this one guy also ask for a tax on eastern sounding 'riedels' ?

M. r. [10347]
Sun 7 Feb 2010 16:16:12

well the Loekz version isn't too bad. I like the Eastern sounds!

Of course there are some people who wouldn't consider it to be Dutch enough, but well, nationalist trash.. :P

"The winner will be chosen by a jury of four people and the audience in the studio."
LOL

Yeah it's slightly pathetic, but that gives LOEKZ the best chances.. Seen as they have the most family members in the building :P

@ Laila

I heard from someone who's been to the rehearsals yesterday that Marlous will probably fail tonight because she can't get her vocals right and she's nothing on stage. Haven't heard her version yet, but if she's the best it's a pity.

glorious, quite glorious. it just makes you feel good about yourself and the world.i particularly love the version by vinzzent.if he is chosen then this is by far the best qualifier so far and would be the best dutch entry in years and years. DANK U PIERRE.
HUP HOLLAND HUP. ( all the way to the top 5 ).

Oh wow. I knew Marlous would be the best!

1. Marlous (L)
2. Vinzzent
3. Loekz (they made it sound childish like those hits for kids songs, typical year 2000)

They really need to choose Marlous! She has a good voice, bubbly personality and stage presence compared to the others and she had the best version without sounding "childish" like Loekz Arabic-like version, lol. Vinzzent also had a better version than I expected from him.

I like Netherlands this year.
