Tonight: Second heat in Germany
The show
The show to be broadcast on Pro 7 will start at 20:15 CET and it will be hosted by Sabine Heinrich and Matthias Opdenhövel in Cologne. Ten acts will perform cover versions of (more or less) famous songs and five of them will be chosen to reach the second stage of the competition. Along with the five qualifiers chosen last week, they will meet again in the first elimination round on 16th February. A jury will give advice. Head judge Stefan Raab will be joined by two guests: Singers Sarah Connor and Peter Maffay.
How to watch?
There will be no official webcast, but all performances will appear on the official website shortly after the show. A full live report will be provided here on esctoday.com.
Pro 7 is available on satellite. You can find detailed information on how to receive the channel here.
The participants
The ten contestants are being kept a secret until the live show tonight.
In 2009, Germany was represented by Alex Swings, Oscar Sings! with the song Miss kiss kiss bang. The duo finished 20th in the final with 35 points.

It is still not clear if Stefan Raab will also write a song for the finalists. So or so there will be songs from other songwriters, too.

I'm really sorry but I really disliked the first heat of the German NF.
All the girls who qualified were dreadful (especially that girl with the Armenian surname... Agnes should have come and slapped her on the face after destroying 'Release Me' 
and I only liked the guy who made a very shabby version of 'Hotel California'.
I just hope the contenders of today's show are better.

Do you know Bonita? She was in SSDSGPS, the casting show which Max Mutzke won and which guaranteed him a place in the German final in 2004...
She became 2nd - and she was my favourite back then...

I can´t understand why everybody seems to be so keen about Lena Meyer-Landrut. I think, this way to sing is rather dull and it´s getting on your nerves after 30 seconds. So please everybody but her in ESC, othervise we have another Bottom 3 place in may.
Katrin or Kerstin with a really good ballad could be an option for a TOP 10 place.

I saw that you put Raab's entry and Max's entry (Raab composer) in your ESC horror list!! I think this preselection is not very promising for you then, but I also hate "Wadde hadde dudde da" and "Can't wait until tonight" but I hope this time it will be much better!
I don't like this idea of "Idol" type preselection, especially such along one and with so many "singers"! 
Kind of nonsense, but I will see IN THE END If i will like the song which could already be given to soem of those "singers"!

I want to see a strong challenge from Germany, from what heard last week you've got some good singers, now all you need is a killer song (that'll be easy considering the standard this year!).
I just hope that this time they don't eliminate the BEST singer AGAIN!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAY !! I loved the show last week, but it went on for ages !! and I burnt my back on the radiator !! I can't to see if there are any more awesome, new and fresh singers Lena last week was just incredible, I hope for someone to match it I have a really positive feeling for Germany this year, I just hope the songs match the singers quality !!
