And the show has started. The presenter says "the decision will definitely be very tough as this year's line up presents high quality of songs". Edyta Gorniak, the first polish representative back in 1994 is opening the show with the song Jestem kobieta.
1. Leszcze - Weekend
Current esctoday.com poll result: 10th (1.4 %)
Leszcze is a band made of a soloist, two guitarists, drummer and a fake-trumpet player. Their song Weekend, sung in polish, is a jazzy song which is performed very well. They are dressed in white and black. However, the song is not so catchy and might not fit into Eurovision.
2. Dziewczyny - Cash box
Current esctoday.com poll result: 9th (2.4 %)
Another band, but now the soloists are two women. one dressed in black and white and the other in a dark blue dress. On the stage you can find as well a guitarist, cello player and a drummer. The performance is moving and although the song is mostly acoustic it is very catchy as the lead singers keep asking if 'do you wanna be my cash box?'. Overall, the song has a distinct american sound to it, something which rarely does well in Eurovision.
3. Iwona Wegrowska - Uwiieziona
Current esctoday.com poll result: 3rd (7.8 %)
Another song in polish. It's a typical ESC ballad and Iwona is accompanied by two backing singers and two dancers. She is dressed in a silvery dress while the backing singers are in white.. The song is performed very well and reminds the latest two polish entries: For life and I don't wanna leave, which didn't do well at the contest. Shall Iwona win and make a change? *At the end of the song Iwona shows off her vocal skills by a high note which drives the audience present wild.
4. Marcin Mrozinski - Legenda
Current esctoday.com poll result: 1st (42.2 %)
The song is sung in polish and english and it is an ethnic ballad that goes stronger and stronger. Marcin is dressed in black and accompanied by two backing singers and two dancers. It is very strong and catchy, and might win tonight's show. The intro is impressive and bound to catch the viewers' attention. Marcin interacts greatly with the TV audience through the camera. An excellent performance overall, only dark cloud being the backing vocals.
5. Aneta Figiel - Mysl o tobie
Current esctoday.com poll result: 4th (5.4 %)
Anita is singing next to a piano. A guitarist who also playing a xylophone, another pianist and two backing singers accompanies her. The vocal and visual performances are very good and the song it quite catchy. Dressed in red and black, will she go to Oslo?
We are halfway through the show and we have to comment on the atmosphere inside the studio which is rather explosive. The audience are having a blast and it comes across making it highly enjoyable to watch.
6. Nefer - Chcialem zostac sam!
Current esctoday.com poll result: 5th (4.7 %)
It's the time for a rock song. The band comprises a male lead singer with long, messy hair, dressed in black along with pink pants. There are two guitarists and also a female drummer. Again we can see an american-styled song sung in polish. Although performed very well it might not do well in Eurovision if chosen. It goes down rather well with the younger viewers though.
7. ZoSia - To, co czuje (Jak ptak)
Current esctoday.com poll result: 6th (4.1 %)
ZoSia is dressed in a black dress. Three dancers are on stage with her and also two backing singers. Her song is pop-rockish, the performance is moving and she is not out of tune. However, the song is not going anywhere and might not win tonight's show as a backflip by one of the dancers attracts more applause than the entire song.
8. Anna Cyzon - Love me
Current esctoday.com poll result: 2nd (25.0 %)
Another rock song, sung by the blond Anna in the shining silvery dress, who asks you to love her. Her band comprises two guitarists and a drummer, and again we can see this unsuccessful kind of songs at Eurovision. Anna's performance is flawless vocally and the fact that she is so sexy makes her a strong contestant for the ticket to Oslo.
9. Sonic Lake - There is a way
Current esctoday.com poll result: 8th (3.4 %)
Sonic Lake is another band who sings their american-rock styled song There is a way. Their lead singer is dressed in blue and like in the former performance we have here two guitarists and a drummer. Performed very well might not be so successful , and it is not so catchy. Plus she was unlucky enough to be drawn to perform after Anna and there is just no comparison between the two ladies' vocal abilities with Anna being the runaway winner.
10. VIR - Sunrise
Current esctoday.com poll result: 7th (3.7 %)
The worst vocal performance of the night is saved for the end of the show. The lead singer looks like Bono and we wish he sounded like him. The song itself is not bad but the performance has just killed any chance of it doing well.
And the winner is Marcin Mrozinski with Legenda

Sorry Poland ! It could be better!
this is so dissappointing, this is the worst eurovision in years (so far)...
no final for poland again.
@Marcelo
and she looked like a potato in satin dress , plus her fake boobs are just enormous haha
@ Michaell,
Well, in that case, and now you've made it clear... Anyway she was not "great" or anything close to it
Good luck Poland!
@ Marcelo
well, I expected her to be really really bad, and she actually surprised me in a good way so i'm gonna have to defend her ; )
@ Michaell,
I'm so sorry I have to be rude... please get your ears checked. Iwona sang dreadfully.
OMG for the first time in ym lifetime...I LOVE THE POLISH SONG!!!!
my #2 so far
as i understood she kind of gav a hint that she might consider going there again, she said somethin like : hey guys how would u like me and miczyslaw szczesniak doing eurovision together" and i'm like: forget about miczyslaw and go SOLO lol
oh and Iwona looked dreadful tonight, she sang really good tho i actually never heard her live, she's good
AMATEURISH!
@ Marko and any others who had high hopes (and especially for the Poles), with all due respect,
The entries that were not amateurish did sound that way. Iwona’s performance was simply annoying to hear (I will not hear otherwise, for God or whoever gave me a very sharp musical ear). To make matters worse, most of the other acts competed with songs that lacked musicality. Perhaps I don’t understand Polish musical tastes --of course I don’t, I mean-- but the majority of songs sounded bland to say the least. I am generally against lollipop songs, those sort of easy, cheap tunes; but the contestants in this final sounded nowhere near catchy. As I stated above, unclear tunes (indeed), suspicious performances (to say the least), and very little professionalism abounded. Too bad, for I hoped for the better.
The only songs that I liked were “Love Me” and “Legenda”. Of course, the former had nothing much to give in terms of originality, but at least (which I must say meant a lot in this NF) it sounded ok and REHEARSED. There were others, such as “VIR” and their facsimile of a demo outtake by U2 (recorded after a night at the disco, thus half deaf) which actually made me feel pity for Poland. Now, as regards “Legenda”, IMO this is an example of an heroic-cum-folk-cum-worldwise concoction which, all in all, does not provoke shame for being overstretching, too pretentious or fake. I will support it as one of the better ones so far (not too hard to be, we must admit), provided that they --especially the lead singer-- can relax a bit. I think that is their uttermost woe: getting overexcited and screw it up live.
My respects to Poland, and good choice,
GO SPAIN! GO CORAL!!
ps: Gorniak is dynamite!
HOW FREAKIN AMAZING IS EDYTA GORNIAK ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
LOL, Agree, Poland can you send Edyta instead of this
!!
New Legenda
I can't stop watching and listening "Manboy" all day! LOL
HOW FREAKIN AMAZING IS EDYTA GORNIAK ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
Good luck to Poland!
Don`t forget points from Azerbaijan!
Song is good! Some corrections would be needed: backing vocals are hardly hearable. Why does he need those dancers? hmm, dancers and clouds like Lidia Kopania had, it is not the way to do well in ESC. More traditional backing vocals would be nice to see and more movement from them! His vocals are decent and finally: I like IT!
Good luck Poland you are among my favorites!
@ Iwona Wegrowska FTW
Thank you Marko
I'm sad for you your favorite didn't win... but it's difficult since my favorite won so...
but still ...
WHO HOOOO!!!!! BEST SONG WON!!!!! PERFECT!!!!! AMAZING!!!! MARCIN FTW!!! ^^
What is so nice about this song? can't really find anything out of the ordinary. It is okay, but it starts and end in the same way and feels like half an hour goes by not 3 minutes. Maybe it was the best in THIS selection (though I do not think so), but not in Eurovision.
New Legenda
I'm happy for you as I promissed!!
YEAH GREAT DAY. Poland and Armenia the best of both came 1st

Paschalis - Norway and Iceland have the best songs so far
Great show - well done TVP! Edyta Gorniak is as radiant as ever. A much stronger selection than last year, and a good choice. Congratulations Marcin - a great song really well performed. I'll be there in Oslo to cheer you on. Powodzenia Polska!!
YAAAAY!
This OBVIOUSLY was the best one out of this bunch. It was almost a terror watching this selection except for a couple of songs and this obviously being THE one.
Good choice Poland...
But someone should shut that screaming girl up in the background haha... I like the folk ladies singing, but that background singer had a pretty annoying voice...
other then that...WELL DONE! Good luck in Oslo Polska!
