BTRC receives bids from foreign countries
Fifth time lucky for Gunesh Abasova?
Gunesh says in an interview with Belarussian news agency Belta that she is planning to surprise the jury at the Belarussian Eurovision selection with a proper song, image and performance. Her bid for the 2010 local competition is entitled Every day, with which the singer hopes to reach her aim this year and represent Belarus in Oslo.
Despite not winning in her previous participations, Gunesh does not regret them: "By participating in those selections, I realised that someone who is willing and running, gets closer to victory and wins. Twice I became a finalist of the national selection and ranked second. I think this is already a victory. And if you have the strength and desire, then why not try it again", Gunesh states.
Eurovision is, in the singer's opinion, "a celebration of music, creativity and positiveness", and notes that thanks to being watched by millions and millions of viewers, "you are noticed and remembered".
Singers from Spain, Iceland, Poland, Israel and Ireland apply
BTRC has informed that 20 applications have been received as of yesterday, when the deadline passed. The broadcaster will continue receiving more materials submitted by ordinary mail. Some of the submissions come from foreign countries, such as Spain, Iceland, Israel, Poland, Ireland and neighbouring Russia, since this year the country's broadcaster BTRC allowed non-Belarussian citizens to take part in the process.
The final decision on who will represent Belarus this year in Oslo will be made no later than March 10th.

o.0
Connect the hearts is super song but I can live without you is boring
@Coral Tiene Pito
Your shortcuts are irritating as well.
By the way, scandinavian and baltic states are all voting one for another ... and are very chavinist as well.
As French say : "wipe out the dirt in front your own door before pointing the finger at others"
I Love you Gunesh....10 point from Azerbaijan. May be 12 point
I hope Belarus will chose you.
We support You Gunesh
UPS!! WHAT A NICE GIRL AND 5TH TIME LOL)))))
I don't like Gunesh at all. She hasn't a normal songs. In 2009 she decided to take part in Azerbaijan national final, but of course jury declined her in the beggining.
When is the Belarus NF anyway? In previous years it was in January and high profile ...this year it is very downbeat and quiet.
Seriously what do people see in her? She has a bad voice, bad accent and all of those songs were bad. The only "listenable" was the first one...
choosing her would just be a mistake...
I dont understand how someone could dislike the entry before even hearing the song.
if belarus sends her, final is very possible for them.. fantastic girl was a nice song but belarus sent a looser song and stayed in semifinal..
@ memetoo ooo
Well, no I don't have to love all their entries, I can dislike a Belarussian entry. Just so far, they always send awesome songs and I don't want them to dissapoint me. Also, participants do matter actually, a good artist does count. Maybe I'm too quick to judge because I haven't heard the song yet but I think all her songs are terrible and 5 times seems a little too desperate.
@San Xcalibur
"If Belarus sends her, this will be the first time I'll dislike a Belarussian entry."
you can start now!! coz i think you dont like the music, just you like participants.
and what happens when you dislike belarusian entry??
do you have to like all belarusian entries??
No no no no no! She's rubbish. If Belarus sends her, this will be the first time I'll dislike a Belarussian entry.
is Gunesh Abasova azeri?
Both of them fine for me.Very egzotic looking...
yes!only in the pic.As you see in her videos she looks very different
.Sasha is much more beautiful...
She looks like Sasha Grey in the pic
oh!ok coral tiene pinto.You didn't write it correctly so we got comfused.But then again i have to agree with Mina!
= 5 times too many! Gunesh was HORRIBLE every time! Please spare us the misery of her crap songs AGAIN! Just choose LiteSound already! They can actually sing and don't have a horrible English accent... much, much better than "Floptastic Girl".
Another painful example of how a singer may sound when he/she performs in a language they cannot pronounce correctly. And she's ging to try again in English... with Gunesh, you will have 12 points from Azerbaijan and not much more. Good luck, Belarus.
Just wait a few days and you'll see
That means: I do dislike when people from either Greece/Cyprus or Armenia/Azerbaiyan start praising their songs and even, sometimes, becoming kinda 'blind'
That's just prejudice. I've seen people from many countries praisings their songs and becoming 'blind' etc etc etc. All you're doing when naming specific countries is perpetuating wrong impressions.
Of course I'm basing my judgement on what I've read on this website...
I should have said 'ESC-related-chauvinism'
@dmitris
he meant ''our'' chauvinism you know the stupid comments about ''we are the best'' or ''omg she is Azeri ..or omg she is Armenian ...or omg she is Greek et cetera et cetera'', not our ethnic background.
RELAX
@Coral
You are basing your judgements on what you see on this website and I don't blame you, but keep in mind that not every Azeri is the same and we don't share the same taste. I'm Azeri and I don't praise this girl and don't even like her songs ...
doesn't * ......
