Daniel: "I fell in love with the song from the first minute"

TVE, the Spanish national broadcaster, held a special press conference in order to officially present the Spanish Eurovision 2010 candidate Daniel Diges to the press and media. Daniel spoke about his passion and dream to conquer Europe and about his forthcoming plans and preparations. He hopes to captivate Europe with a magical performance.

Daniel Diges is a 29 year old singer, who hails from the Spanish capital Madrid. During the official press conference, the Spanish artist mentioned that he fell in love with his entry Algo pequeñito. He wishes to achieve either a top 5 or top 10 placing in Oslo with his entry. Daniel is ovehelmed with his victory on Monday, which for him came as a big surprise. He told the press that he was not expecting to win the Spanish national final and that it wasis one of the most amazing things that has ever happened to him in his life. Talking about his song, Algo pequeñito, Daniel went on to say "The song is like a small monster, once it enters your head, it sticks there. I fell in love with the song from the first minute! It is a very beautiful song which capitivates you with its sweetness and elegance".

Daniel is currently working on the Spanish preview video of Algo pequeñito, which according to him will have a circus theme. TVE and Daniel will be working very hard in the coming weeks in order to prepare their entry and stage peformance for Oslo. TVE is very happy with the results of their Eurovision national final and hopes to achieve a good result with Daniel Diges and Algo pequeñito in Oslo.

TVE head of Programmes, Eva Cebrián, was also present at the press conference at the Buñuel Studios in Madrid and was more than happy to answer questions. She told the press that Daniel had been successful in conquering both the juries and the audience.

Eva said that she was very satisfied with the results of the Spanish Eurovision final and that the Spanish national broadcaster TVE was very happy with the outcome. She expressed that the broadcaster was proud and honoured to have an artist like Daniel Diges represent Spain at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest with a beautiful quality song. She concluded by saying that she hopes that Algo pequeñito (Something tiny) can become something big in Oslo.

I love Daniel, and his song the only problem i see is too many male singers in this year, i would have prefered Anabel Conde, her song is fantastic and her voice is still amazing.

Mina,
A friend captured the performances (I should not be saying this) -not the whole broadcast, however. And you can find them on YT, anyway :)

Alvaro,
wait until May 29 before you start feeling sorry for Spain as I'm sure this will be in the top 10.

Marcelo,
where did you watch it again??

I had the strength to watch the Spanish NF again just an hour ago.

I must say, with a heavy heart, and having listened to the songs a zillion times, that out of the 9 performances + 1 outrageous scandal in the gala Daniel's was by far the cleanest, sharpest and most adequate. The vocals were fantastic, the staging OK+, and, sadly, some of the other really good contenders were lackluster to say the least. Conde looked aggrieved and barely managed to get through the song; Ainhoa was all but a complete shame, and Lorena did great but the song... well, we know it was childish.

Coral will go doen to history as the great performer who took an enormous ballad, almost an above-ESC candidate IMHO.

Things are looking very gloomy here. A part of the lyrics of all our songs leaked :(
The only thing that comforts me is that Spain also started with problems with the online selection but ended up with a beautiful song.

@ Mina X:

Eric is just my tip, not my favourite. ;)

My favourites would be Salem and Darin. Pauline if she gets the ticket in andra chansen and maybe Ola. Oh, and Sibel if she gives a good performance and makes it to the final aswell.

I only like POS in this year's MF, which is the weakest since I began following MF in 2006 imo. I guess that in the end they will send something that ends around 25th place on my list. They usually do!

unfortunately, although MF is usually my fave NF I don't have a clear favourite this year. at all. Pernila's classic schlager is my fave but it stands no chance. Oh, I guess that Timoteij are very nice! and I love swedish so I guess from those who have qualified Timoteij . Ola's Natalie is nice too.

Oh yes. Salem for Sweden would be great. But I think Eric Saade will made it.

Who do you want Sweden to send???

Charlotte Rulzzz [46321]
Fri 26 Feb 2010 14:58:31

If they do - I can honestly say both fave esc nations have failed me. these are my top 2 esc countries of all times...Salem's song is nice and unique but it doesn't wow me.

Mina X [59957]
Fri 26 Feb 2010 14:54:52

If they send Salem, my top 2 favourites will both have curly hair.
lol

Sing my song in Georgia and Lovestoned in MF.
But Salem is my big favourite in Sweden (L)

Truce! any favourites on the georgian NF? and in the 4th semi of MF?

Mine are 'sing my song' and 'Shine'
in MF - Pernila and lovestoned (Gison you have rocked my world this year (L)) but yeah, I know it's Jobak to Globen :(

HAHAHA @ the apron. I don't have an apron and you do!

Mina, you should seriously stop it. My arguement had sufficient proof, togravus agreed with me as well. I will accept any result in esc whether I like it or not. I think that the jury's 50% are in place because I didn't like the block votes and immigrants who left very few chances to western countries, that is until last year. Now as I allready said, especially in such a poor year,
it's anybody's game. Stop patronizing and insulting me. Neither one of the others used your tone, even if they agreed with you. it's very unpleasent to me.

Perhaps I should try a mid-sized country like Portugal, Sweden, Greece or the Czech Republic ....???

Greece..and bring your cooking books with you :P

Charlotte

I think it is quite natural to long for what you don't have in everyday life. I lived on Malta for a year, but that became far too intimate after some time. Everyone, absolutely everyone on the island seemd to know what you had done the night before (not that I do terrible things a lot, but still ...) Perhaps I should try a mid-sized country like Portugal, Sweden, Greece or the Czech Republic ....???
