Fabrizio and Claudia Faniello in the Slovak final
Faniello's to guest star in Slovakia
Fabrizio Faniello who represented Malta twice in the Eurovision Song Contest will do a come back in the show business by launching his latest single I no can do in the Slovak national final. Fabrizio, who disappeared from the music scene following the bad result in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 held in Athens, is working on new material.
Last week during the Maltese national final Manfred Holz was spotted along with Fabrizio. Holz is Fabrizio’s manager from Cap-sounds and this is a sign that the collaboration with the German record label is set to continue.
Apart of Fabrizio, his sister Claudia will also perform in the interval act. Claudia Faniello will sing Samsara which received an eight place in the Malta Eurosong 2010. The Slovak broadcaster STV invited Claudia Faniello a way back before the outcome of the Maltese national final and though the singer did not achieve the top place she will still appear as a guest.
Twelve acts will compete in the Slovak final to take place tomorrow in Bratislava. The winner of the show will represent Slovakia in the first semi-final of the next Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Oslo.

The only time I ever liked Malta in Eurovision is when Fabrizio Faniello enters
the I DO DISASTER GUY!! haaahaahaha
It will be the kiss of death, I'm afraid...
I'm with you Marky, poor Slovakians. If they really have to endure Maltese songs, why not at least the winner? Fabrizio gives me flashbacks of horror.
I thought his 2006 entry was good.
Just a shame every backing singer was in a different key.
hm why not winner from Malta?
malta 2009 was very nice song! Kiara's woice was nice but what she could do whe ESC is a contest of beutiful girls, cute guys a la Rybak and Bilan and monsers of Lordi???
Actually I liked both of Fabrizio's entries, catchy and care-free and ironically two of Malta's least kitschy entries, although maybe even they were kind of kitsch in a way still... but there have been way worse for sure. A little bit plastic, but both works kind of well as summer-fun-party songs.
Fabrizio sang ok in 2001 and I really don't know what happened in his 2nd try.. kind of weird.
2 countries that like semi finals most will meet
fabrizio was great in 2001 but then he was so nervous the 2nd time he entered , which was very surprising
Exactly Igor. Malta specializes in the ultimate kitsch. Their only decent entry was in 1994, and that was a blatant rip off of Mike and the Mechanics. And their 2004 entry is one of the worst in eurovision history. Even Barbie and Ken have more character then Julie and Ludwig.
@Danny.
Slovakia and Malta had a weird connection in past. Sort of a deal. Juries gave eachother 12 points.
Well, I don't like none of them.
Well after his two attempts my only hope is that he's going to give up eventually
Those 3' Maltese entries I've mentioned are summing everything I don't like in the ESC
why would the slovakians care about the weird eyebrow fella from malta?
I find this rather amusing. Slovakian team obviously thought Claudia would win in Malta so they send their invitation.
Oh well... it doesn't matter so much who is guesting, what matters is who is winning and in this case it has to be Kristina and Kristina only!
What did Slovakia do to deserve this !?!?!?
I know that the invitation was sent before Malta's NF took place, but I do have to say that it is a bit odd not to have the winner present. After all, Slovakia is staging its NF and not an ESC unrelated event. Anyway, I wish Slovakia all the best.
I am now trying to erase the image of a certain singer from ESC 06 from my mind. Ok, I hope he has learned something in the last few years, I should at least give him a chance.
If there haven't been another Maltese entry (2004) and that horrible Polish so called song from 2003, Fabrizio's attempt from 2001 would hold the trophy of the worst ESC song from 21st century (and the other one of him is at 15th position) IMO
