Second semi final O melodie pentru Europa
Results: Seven acts qualified in Moldova
The following seven acts have qualified for the national final on 6th March:

The esctoday.com poll voters partly agreed with the results in the semi final. Poll winner Cristina Croitor (17.6%) qualified for the final; in total four of the entries that finished in the poll top seven qualified for the final. However, the only two acts that did not get a single vote in the poll - Boris Covali and Gicu Cimbir - both qualified for the final.
In 2009, Moldova was represented by Nelly Ciobanu, who finished fifth in the second semi final and 14th in the final with the song Hora din Moldova. In 2010, the country will compete in the first semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest on 25th May.

In all fairness you should mention how bad all the OTHERS were too... Most sucked bad live... Pavel was not much worse than certain fan favourites, hahaha.

Cristina Croitor was superb, from beginning at contest to televoting she was on the last place, but after she sang she high on the first place and she won the TV voting!
@ Arben: watch Turcu LIVE and then tell me you still wanna see this guy at the ESC??!! He is worse than the estonian guys in 2008, simply real bad! In fact, I ve never seen something more horrible since I am a ESC fan!

After watching the semi 2 I can say that most of the singers sucked live just as in the first semi. Especially certain favourites on here like Olia Tira and Monkey Mind would be a very bad choice because they sucked bad. Cristina Croitor was alright, Pasha too. Pavel was definitely the most entertaining tonight, but the song has changed a bit, it now has a more dance-sound to it and not that "manele" sound.
Pavel Turcu was leading the voting until the last time we saw the scoreboard - then Cristina took over the first place. They did not show the final results after the jury points were combined, they just came with envelopes with the names of qualifiers at the end. At least Pavel qualified! The LAST televoting scores shown that I managed to write down before they disappeared were:

Earlier Pavel was leading clear.
Doinita would be the best choice for Moldova, the other songs are quite dull on stage or poorly performed. Even Millenium made a bit of a silly performance, but they sounded good enough. Pavel would be fun to watch in Eurovision with his little anthem, lol. It would be a classic! Hahaha. I just wish he hadn't changed the sound. Just like InCulto... I don't like when they change things in the songs and it makes them less good.
Thank goodness there doesn't seem to be any fixed results now, haha. Mariana is out! Her English was really funny tonight.
The greenroom guy really got on my nerves. He was so annoying, rude and seemed a bit of a slimeball.

I haven't listened to Moldovan songs yet but now I'm tired. Tomorrow, I'll check them out. I know there are plenty of surprises waiting for me from Moldova. I loved their last year's entry. It was fantastic ethno harmony!

You are kidding right? The song is awful mess and he is not even a real singer, just a joke...
I mean even Popstar Queen with her Tsunami joke song was better than this...
If Moldova has any dignity and doesn't want to make a fool of themselves in Oslo they will NOT send Pavel.
Anyway it will not make it to the finals anyway because the juries will not give a single point to it and I doubt most Europeans will understand the "hype" around. He is a local joke and he should stay local.

Can anyone post Valeria Tarasova's performance please? She was my fav. from this semi! Gosh and no Turcu please, there is a jury vote in the semis this year, Moldova would never qualify with him no matter how famous he is there!! It doesn't matter at the ESC!

A quick search of just his name on Youtube shows that he's become Moldova's very own Jedward. In other words, pretty famous.
The greatest song in this nf is Monkey Mind & Daniela's "Smile".
All the others are average.
