National final on March 7th
Russia: 25 national finalists announced
Two performers, group YoYo and Julia Voice withdrew their entries, while eight other entries failed to qualify from the jury vote.
They 25 finalists are; including the running order:

- Group 'Buranovskiye babushki'

- Group 'Nano'
- Natalia Damas and group 'L'brand'
- Alena Roxis
- Antonello Carozza
- Polina Kozhikova
- Group 'Los Devchatos'

- Elena Esenina
- Group 'Alaska'
- Group 'Scenakardia'
However, according to the rules of the russian national selection this year, the broadcaster can add wildcards to the final 25 to progress directly to the national final. The wildcards need not have submitted songs to the selection process. The russian national final will take place on March 7th, 2010 on RTR at 19:00 CET (21:00 local time).

haha it is so fantastic to see this year becoming the worst ever ESC edition.. i guess Layla is all over herself of joy then:-D HORRIBLE HORRIBLE songs and worst of them all is the horrible Russian song with the worst lyrics and worst accent ever!!! Dima BILAN SAVE US!!

Did you hear Esenina's song? I find it quite average for Russian pop music, but it wasn't too bad. I kinda liked Jay Stever's song a bit, but I am hoping the songs will all be bad so Peter has better chances, haha.

Awwwwww, Peter Nalitch's song "Lost and forgotten" is so pretty! I hope he wins so baaaaaaad. I want to hear the studio version too.

His accent is part of his specialness. It's so cute! And his voice is NOT average! It's wonderful! The songs are lovely and I have not heard many with songs and voice like his combined. He is special to me. Anyway, like I knew, you didn't love him because we have different taste.

I don't dislike that singer and songs, but it's so average, you can find singers like him playing piano and singing with better voice in every corner!
And his accent is quite bad!

by the way RTR broadcaster has changed its name effective from the 1st January... now it is channel "Russia 1"

I doubt it is something you would love though, we tend to like opposite things, lol.
You know, I made a comment on YT one day saying I wished he would be in ESC and I got a reply from someone who said he was "above Eurovision standards", but ahahaha, this year he IS in Eurovision! Fantastic for me, but that person was probably right. His musical style (which I love) will probably not be appreciated by the masses (it's a POPularity contest after all), but if he, by a miracle, should win then Eurovision would be the greatest ever for me this year, haha. I am just so ecstatic he is in the national final at all (there IS hope), It's really cool for me.

OMGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!! PETER NALITCH made it through to the final! Of course he would, because he is guaranteed 100% to be the BEST OF THEM ALL! He has a fantastic voice and WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW! Russia rocks this year! Now if only the public isn't STUPID enough to vote for craps like Elena Esenina, Princessa or That Panayotov guy. They suck and Peter RULES EUROVISION THIS YEAR!

It looks like a good selection from Russia this year and a wide variety of styles hopefully. Too bad Z.I.M.A.'s cool song was disqualified or something. I thought Alaska's song and Nano's song were also disqualified? Or did they submit another song instead?
"Maya showtime" is a terrible song and it will be very bad live on stage. Alena Roxis sucks and sounds too American wannabe-like. Alaska's song "Piastry" was GREAT SKA! Russia finally sent that style! That was also on my profile's wishlist from Russia! I love them! Just too bad that song must be disqualified?? Nano's song was also great, but it must also be disqualified? Ed Shulzevsky has a terrible, UGLY song. I don't like Ekaterina either. Pavla sucks bad too. I'm glad Plazma didn't make it actually because I didn't like the song so much. Princessa Avenue's song is booooooooooooring. Basically...

'Princessa Avenue' are cool, hope they have a great song! BTW., 'Buranovskiye babushki' are a bunch of 70 years old grannies, this is going to be interesting. Knowing that mother Russia loves thier " babuschkas ", I really think they may win!
