Second semi final Festival da canção 2010
Results: Six acts qualified in Portugal
The following six acts have qualified for the national final this Saturday, 6th March:

The esctoday.com poll voters partly agreed with the results in the national final. Runaway poll winner Cartarina Pareira (61.6%) did qualify for the final. However, the only other act that had a major impact on the poll, Nina Pinto (19.8%), did not qualify. Only two of the acts that finished in the top six in the poll made it to the final. The other four acts that made it were actually the bottom four in the poll.
In 2009, Portugal was represented by Flor-de-Lis, who finished eighth in the first semi final and 15th in the final with their song Todas as ruas do amor. In 2010, the country will compete in the first semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest on 25th May.

I know what you mean, eventhoug I like the way she makes the music grow on the stage. I don't like musics that starts showing everything, there'll be no surprises. With Filipa's song it is exciting. I would like to see her representing Portugal.
IM so hoping for catarina to win... ill vote for her im almost sure that she will have a good ressult in televote but jury will be very bad to her 
anyway shes the best choise the eurovision this year has a lot of ballads so lets send something more grovie my top:
catarina - canta por mim
filipa - ha dias assim
seis po meia duzia - passaro saudade
vanessa - alvorada
i know that the jury will vote for filipa and vanessa and thats sad... but anyway goodluck to them all especially to catarina canta por mim sing for me

I agree João. Filipa Azevedo cannot be overlooked. In fact, I much prefer her song to 'Alvorada' and 'Canta por mim'. I just think that Filipa needs to go about her song in a more 'soft' approach. Her live performance last Tuesday was a bit 'forced.'
In terms of vocal potential 'Alvorada' is stronger than 'Canta por mim' but Catarina's song stays in our mind. And we shouldn't forget about Filipa's, the song, the style and performance were quite an act.
Adérito, I was kidding. I do not really like Vanessa's over the top vocals, but I think she has a good voice, if only she'd use it more tactfully. Yes, RTP are probably crossing their fingers for 'Alvorada', but I would wait until the last minute before opening the celebratory Moët. We do not have access to the voting data so, as far as we are concerned, 'the jury is still out' so to speak.
Let me make it clear that if forced to choose between Vanessa and Catarina, I would not hesitate to go for 'Alvorada' over 'Canta por mim'.

I'm sure the juri is aware that Catarina is also a good choice to represent Portugal, not like Luciana's rubish last year.

I didn't like Luciana's song last year. I was glad she didn't win. That's why Catarina should have some chances of winning this year. Her song his not as bad as Luciana's. But it's more than obvious that the juri will vote for Vanessa. Because RTP people really love Vanessa's sort of screamy ballads.
I think Catarina's song has lots of potential, but there's something missing... what I mean is: we don't know how to do 'breath taking' performances on stage. This song could reach high enough to win if we would know how to make a performance like Helena's 'My number one'. It is not just about the singer or the song, it is also about the show that happens on the stage.
My four favourites:
Vanessa, Catarina Pereira, Filipa Azevedo and Seis Po' Meia Dúzia!
It's quite clear that the audience (i mean, the portuguese people) will choose Catarina's songs but the juri will decide for Vanessa's. So, this will be like last year and also like what happened in 2006 with NonStop and Vânia Oliveira.
About last year, I was really happy that Luciana Abreu didn't win.
I hope that Catarina will win tomorrow. My second choise is Vanessa and my thrird choise is Seis Po' Meia Dúzia.

As for Caminheiro de Mim:
i liked the music, but i really disliked his vocals... and he went off key at times...

This demand left me puzzled! I don't know Vanessa, i'm not one of her fans or friends, thus i don't know how to reach her...
Actually, i'm not crazy about any of the songs, so i'm not supporting any of them. I think Vanessa has more chances of getting a good result in Oslo than Catarina. But i don't care who wins: the 2 of them or Filipa A. As long as it isn't Jorge Guerreiro or Rui Nova. What's REALLY annoying me since last night is: it's pretty obvious the juri will make sure Catarina has no real chances of going to Oslo. Like they did last year to Luciana Abreu.

I think that the jury will choose Vanessa over Catarina, Marko. It'll all depend on how the televoters will rank them. In the end, I think hurricane Vanessa will win and you'll be happy, at least. Catarina's performance is not strong enough, the dance moves do not come easily to her and I the backing singers are not well integrated in the song.
Btw, there are some good acts in today's Croatian semi.
Adérito, you have your answer by now about the voting process. Don't be so shocked. His song reminds me of the 70s, which is not necessarily a bad thing. What I really like is his voice. I know that the song sounds terribly nostalgic, but what can I say? I can't help liking it. It will never win, though.

Tomorrow, Portugal will decide. Our NF has not been going very well this year, especially when it comes the vocals. That being said, I think that the winner will be selected from these 4:
'Pássaro saudade'
'Canta por mim'
'Há dias assim'
'Alvorada'.

Yes, Catarina was great last night, but i'm sure RTP already has decided that Vanessa should win the ticket to Oslo. You just wait and see. Never forget that Nuno Feist Is a regular collaborator of RTP! Catarina will be this year's Luciana Abreu.
