Malta: Thea Garrett reveals the new version
Thea Garrett who recently returned back from Germany as she was recording the new version of the song My dream at Cap Sounds studios commented positively on the set up that will support her towards Oslo.
The singer that last Monday turned eighteen spoke with esctoday.com about the selected backing vocals who will accompany her on stage. In all there will be three backing vocals who were revealed earlier this week by partner website escmalta.com. The backing vocals are Pamela, Nadine Axisa and Jackie Pace Delicata. The first two participated in a number of editions in the Maltese national final and Nadine Axisa recently also worked with the composer Jason Cassar (composer of year’s Maltese entry) in the Malta Eurosong 2010.
Thea Garrett stated that Jason Cassar and the national broadcaster PBS came to an excellent choice since on one hand they selected great vocals to accompany me but on the other hand the backing singers will not over come the main voice in the song.
The Maltese Eurovision hopeful described the new version of the song My dream as exceptional which though the frame work is the same for that the Maltese and the jury voted for, the orchestration was enhanced. The Eurovision version is expected to be officially launched on cd in few weeks time.
Jesmond Darmanin who conducted the upgrade of the website on behalf of Storm Design explained that the site was given a fresh look considering that the Maltese package for Oslo is expected to be highly promoted on the net. During the launch those present were treated with a sneak preview about what the team behind the new website was doing.
Thea Garrett invited everyone to follow her road to Oslo on www.theagarrett.com Malta will compete in the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest scheduled for 25th May 2010.

remember all the bad comments about uk and iceland last year?? they called them old fashioned/boring/cheesy/ disney etc etc , until they both reached a top 5 position............. than everybody liked them!! so stop talking BULLS...
She's got a great voice...
At first i was like what ? when this was chosen but i have grown to like it and like every year I hope Malta will get a final round place and do well
finally i can comment
this is my first comment lol
well the new version of course is better than the original but in my opinion is the same song... only with live instruments i expected more indeed well if we see last year chiara original version was a crap =/ but then the new version was amazink =D i was disappointed this year =/ i dnt know if im right but on the stage only 6 people they can come up? well lets start counting thea + 3 backin vocals =4 the 2 remaining are going to be the violionist and the guitarist? or that bird ?
Go thea Malta kollha warajk make us proud =D xx
The Best Entry of 2010
Well Done Malta + Best Of Luck
I'm not saying this because its my country but "My Dream" could possibly be what came for Iceland last year. Very Underrated at first, Surprise in the end. I'm not saying Thea will place 2nd.. I doubt that but if she manages to get through from the Semi Final, I think she'll be able to do us proud. GOOD LUCK THEA!!
I think it song is very charming and nostalgic. maybe it will get through to the final, im not sure but i like it. the lyrics are rather bland but she can sing.
She seems really sweet. The song sounds more polished, much better than I remember. The dance version sounded good too. Good luck Thea!
new version??? jeje!!! it´s the same!!!!
The isn't too bad
But it certainly has that Hungary 2008 vibe
Pleasent enough for everyone, however not enough to make anyone vote for it, unfortunately I can see it coming last in the final, unless she really improves the performance, but I don't see how this can stand out this year. I really hope the quality of songs in Malta improves for once for next year
This is actually one of the better ballads. Who'd have known this back then. Too many bad ballads got chosen after this, lol.
I must confess that at first I did not like this song. I have changed my mind!
there's no version that can save this song.. baaaad
A very dull entry for Malta this year! Extremley boring, sorry
SHE DESERVES TO BE IN THE FINALISTS considering all the CRAP EUROPE OFFERED... GOODLUCK THEA... does anybody knows when the order of all participants will be known?
she is a finalist that's the only sure thing !!! it's a great ballad...!! and it's going to place quite good..! they deserve it..!!!!! good luck malta
This song is not that bad, maybe bland a bit, but I listened it after Spanish song now (and watching Spanish video, NEVER will do that AGAIN
) and it sounded so GREAT after that!!
The orchestration makes it much nicer, but it's still fairly plain.
good singer, no doubt about that. and i really like the ending of the song, but i m unsure about the song a s a whole.
@online, is that the Oslo stage? Where did you find that pic?
Does that mean that on the night she will have LIVE INSTRUMENTS..... I'm telling you I met her, and she's a freaky little girl, you love her the very second you see her
GOOD LUCK THEA YOU WILL BE IN THE FINALS !!!
Hey Europe...don't underestimate us
this happened in 1997
This song is so dull that I am at a comlepete loss for words. I simply don't know what to say about it except ... What the hell you think you are doing? Sorry, Malta ... only 34th place on my list.
Good luck! ... And yes, Thea has a great voice. Such a shame about the song ...
it sounds the same
Stage

that would allow her youth to shine on ....
I agree that this song is not very original and that it sounds just like one more ballad. However, it is well put together, Thea is capable of making it soar which is a good thing, because this type of tune relies heavily on the vocal abilities of its singer. I like to hear her voice and 'This is my dream'.
I would like to see her in Oslo with much less make up and with a different dress that would her youth shine on stage. As for the big bird, keep it if you want, but lose the mask at least!
