Ireland: Preview video scenes online
The video is of Niamh Kavanagh performing the song 'It's for you' in an empty theatre. She is seen in the video in her dressing room where she is having her hair styled and make-up applied before she goes on stage. Then with two stage hands to help carry her flowing petrol blue dress, she is seen making her way to the stage, passing a photograph of her winning performance in the 1993 contest.
On stage, the camera focuses on Niamh's face as she delivers the song to an empty auditorium. There are no other singers or musicians on stage. Then as the song finishes Niamh heads backstage.
The preview video was shot in the Olympia theatre, Dublin.

Not a very strong song and quite average, but it's pleasant enough. The singer is better than the song though. The video is OK.
She has a beautiful voice, but I don´t like the song - I prefered >In your eyes
@tom jones
What's your problem with Ireland, their entries, their participants, ...?
Please be respectfull, we Eurofans don't like to read such comments!
Axel
Nothing, believe me!
Just can't believe that you act like that sometimes to poor countries, and I respect you on the other hand! You know.......and then i can't believe you write comments like that for other countries, nothing more....
Starts more and more to feel like a good old Bette Midler song! That styling, that melody! I could imagine Miss Divine singing this on stage...
But the styling of Niamh... I'm sorry but it makes her look old and old-fashioned - that 40's Gilda-look. A short hair - like in the 90's she had - would do her more favor!
Marko,
sweetheart what's your problem dear ?
WHAT SHIT SONG COPY JADE LAST YEAR IRLAND SONG SHIT
1.Israel,Croatia or Norway!
10.Ireland
I think Ireland is going to be the jury favorite this year...!! Niamh deserves to win as she is the best singer this year and she sings a classic ballad that people always like...
in 2006 Brian Kennedy got the 10th place with a song not as good as niamh's and without the juries so niamh can easily place top 3..!!!!
I like this entry it is so nice and mellow. She has very good vocals too.
Best of Luck Ireland
Good Luck with the Video too
Sounds exactly like Jade's video for my time lol
Axel
are you the saver of the world over here? Let's hope we will be sitting next to one another in Oslo ok.... love you too xxx
Again show me how you treat poorer countries.

She doesn't need to be saver of world and those countries, but she can be fair enough at least.......
Classic ballads never go out of style
@ Mi reina
Yeah, whatever...
The great star from yesterday who does not have a career at all came back with this utter ridiculous "ballad". Bahhh, it´s on my snack break list.
I love everything on it
My video clip for "It's for you" :

It's such a dull song ..... There are plenty of ballads this year and this might get lost or narrowly qualify........
Nice song and I would like to see it qualify for the final and do well - but it wouldn't be the most groundbreaking winner ever, so I'm hoping for a Top 10 or Top 5 only.
The video is cast from the same mould as the UK video last year (which was, in turn, cast from the same mould as countless other generic ballad videos). So nil points for originality on that score...
@ Alex Kearns
Haha
Where will you sit? I am in section F
Tohoshinki,

If Ireland doesn't qualify this year, and Ukraine does, RTÉ should really consider withdrawing from Eurovision totally. Because it's a decent song. It may not be a winner, but it deserves a top 10 spot anyway.
I am not going to be able to vote for Ireland 10 in the second semi, but I am counting on doing that in the final
The same is here!
Tohoshinki for PRESIDENT!!!
I really do like this entry and hope from the bottom of my heart that Cheaters like Azerbijan and Ukraine won't take the well deserved place of Ireland in the final...... Boycot Ukraine and Azerbijan... vote for democratic countries.
At the same time as you bash Azerbaijan and Ukraine(?) for polluting the contest with political issues, you are like doing the EXACT thing by asking people to vote based on whether the countries are democratic or not, instead of songs. Double standards pretty much?
I know that this song is nothing to write home about. However, the way Niamh sings it (I pass no judgement on the lyrics because I cannot understand every ESC 10 song's lyrics) simply draws me to 'It's for you'. Her voice is mellow, it reminds me of velvet (silly, I know) and at the same time can become powerful out of the blue. I am not going to be able to vote for Ireland 10 in the second semi, but I am counting on doing that in the final. Go Niamh!
Nice to see her back. She be in the final with help form the juries and from..... U.K. as well
