[UPD] Alyosha to sing Sweet people in Eurovision 2010
This completes the participants list for Eurovision 2010. Back in November, singer Vasyl Lazarovich was internally selected by the broadcaster NTU, ruled by a different board back then, to represent Ukraine in Oslo. A national final to select the entry to be performed by him was held some weeks ago, but as a result of the change of government in the country and therefore the new board at NTU, the whole process was invalidated and a new call for songs was launched.
The new national final in Ukraine took place last Saturday, after just two days of auditions and preview airings. 20 acts competed for the ticket to Oslo, among which was Vasyl Lazarovich. Evetually, Alyosha was selected to enter the contest for Ukraine with the song To be free, which was found to have been released some two years ago, therefore making it ineligible to represent Ukraine. The EBU then fined NTU over the entry submission delay and an additional fine for every next day after the deadline with no entry submission.

Typical example is Turkey , no matter what trash they send thanks to turkish diaspora in Europe they always make it to at least top 10 .

Some countries, no matter how bad their song is... they are always in the final and top10.
Final off course..... isn't it obvious ? Some Western European country has to make place for this.... EBU has spoken.

This new song is very good, and from what I've heard ... the rules were broken a bit, but Ukraine paid a fine. Okay, so let's move on. Belarus changed songs, ... don't like their change. But Ukraine's change of songs was for the better.
It isn't my fave this year (so far I think Azerbaidjan, Slovakia and Romania are the best along with many other strong ones) but hey ... this might turn out to be a very very very close competition!
My main disappointment this year however is Russia - the most horrible song I've heard in a long time in this competition.

An amazing entry from Ukraine, which is underrated for some non-understandable reasons, but I'm sure it will be the "Black Horse" in the 2nd semi final.
Therefore, we will get a very strong 2nd semi final this year, especially its first part, which containing Armenia, Israel, Denmark, Sweden, Azerbaijan & Ukraine. Not only I think that all those countries will pass to the Final, but also it seems that all of them will enter the Top 10 in the Final.
UKRAINE should be disqualified for not sending the song on time.
Damn EBU and their thirst of money...

I have listen to it for the first time right now because I thought they might take the piss and change it again lool.
My first thoughts: It's as though this song was influend by Pink... its an ok song has potential but not strong enough.
So much for third time lucky... the Ukranian entries have got progressively worse!!
Ukraine will pass to the final beacuse of televoting, but in semifinal will take 9 or 10 place. In final will be out from top 10 like last year, and maybe will take worst place.
Courageous (or obliged? That's what they had available...) choice for Ukraine... But no chance to win and maybe even hard to get to the final. Funny year: no real favourites indeed and many songs that could either be eliminated in the semifinal or even win (like Israel, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, even Netherlands, or Spain - that obviously can not be eliminated in semifinal...). And many other songs that will surely get to the final but have not the sound of victory... (Turkey, Armenia, Belarus) And finally some few songs that will never pass to the final in my opinion (Lithuania, Slovenia, FInland, Bulgaria, Switzerland - that doesn't mean I don't like them, Switzerland is still in my top ten, but has very few chances to pass). Azerbaijan has one of the most catchy and contemporary songs, but I think it's even "too" modern for Eurovision audience, and most of all the girl has not a perfect live performance, though this I'm sure she will be in top 5. I think that in spite of what we are saying since some weeks ago, at the end we've got many nice songs and it will be a very charming contest!

Thats because there are big disporas of ukrainians in Russia and many russian in Ukraine.

Ukraine has always given 12 points to Russia, Russia has always given not more than 8 points to Ukraine. Cuz Russians for some reason always hate Ukrainians. I visited both countries. You can basically feel in in the air.
It's so stupid Russia sent Dima Bilan twice... So not extraordinary... Don't you have more singers in Russia???
I think EBU should just DSQ Russia for that.
It's so stupid of the broadcaster to change the song/decision/rules just because the new board didn't personally like the choice.
It was the broadcaster's choice to select internally, they did, they had a final, a song was chosen. It's so stupid to change things that had already been done because they didn't like it.
What a farse. I am not supporting Ukraine this year even if I like the song. This song is not better at all and the fact that she ALSO entered a song that had been released before is just so stupid. How is this better than an "unfair" internal selection of someone they knew personally - Vasyl??? Instead we get someone who couldn't read or follow rules and tried to cheat.
I like her voice - in STUDIO, but live she was just meh... I like the song, but I do not like how Ukraine has dealt with things this year. So, my conclusion = I like the song, but it's not getting a vote from me.
