Stars to feed Latvia

Latvian musicians support the charity

A great number of well known Latvian musicians have joined forces to support the event Stars to feed Latvia. The aim of the event is to provide monthly stock of groceries to the families, who owing to recession, loss of work and lack of income cannot afford the basic food for everyday survival.

To promote the goal and draw the attention to the event, Latvian musicians have recorded the song Vai tu mani dzirdi (Can you hear me?) which is penned by Uldis Marhilēvičs and Guntars Račs (lyricist of Latvian Eurovision Song Contest  entries such as What for?, I hear your heart, and Dziesma par laimi).

Among the musicians participating in the recording of the song, there are several Latvian Eurovision artists - Aisha who is going to represent the country at ESC 2010 in Oslo, Intars Busulis (ESC 2009), Lauris Reiniks (FLY, ESC 2003), Andris Erglis (Bonaparti.lv, ESC 2007), Kaza (ESC 2005), Ivo Fomins (ESC 2004), Kristina Zaharova (the runner up at Irish National final 2009), Liene Šomase (Eirodziesma 2007) and Normunds Rutulis (Eirodziesma 2003), as well as Olga Rajecka, Igors Novikovs, Musiqq.

The song is already being aired on the Latvian radio stations and the video is broadcast on TV, but the event to help the families is ongoing.

Why don't they send this to Oslo instead of the monotone What For? It's a million times better! :D

Terrible news from Latvia about the consequences of the financial crisis for the poorest of the poor. My respect goes to all people involved in this charity project.

Even though I can't understand it, I think it is so much better than band aid and live aid put together. I even think it's better than the help for Haiti single, the American one and the British one!!!
