Macedonia Oslo Mayor

A special present for the Mayor

FYR Macedonia: A gift to the City of Oslo

At the opening ceremony for the Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo, the Mayor of Oslo was presented a very special gift by the delegation of the FYR Macedonia.

The Head of Delegation for Macedonia, Ms. Gordana Andrashevska handed a special present to Mr. Fabian Stang the Mayor of Oslo.

Speaking of about this presentation Ms Andrashevska  said this is a gift given as a token of gratitude and high appreciation for the efforts the City of Oslo makes for the Eurovision Song Contest and in good memory from Macedonia. The present is a Butterfly, a special filigree hand made product of Macedonia, which represents a broach from Macedonia from the 19th Century.  The Butterfly has a symbolic meaning connected with the content of this year's Macedonian entry.

The Mayor, Mr. Stag expressed his satisfaction and thankfulness to the delegation for the special present and wished good luck and success to the Macedonian delegation.

This years entry FYR Macedonia is Jas ja imam silata  and will be performed by Gjoko Taneski in the first semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest.

@ Antonij

Even before the split of Yugoslavia
the ILLEGAL USAGE of the "M" word
was nothing but a ... COPY in ALL ASPECTS!!!!

Before Tito (6) STOLE the "M" word FROM GREECE, the truth is that :

V.A.R.D.A.R.S.K.A. was territory's REAL name ... (again!) VARDARSKA

and its inhabitants VARDARSKANS .... OF YUGOSLAVIA

Their language was and is SLAVIC ... (again!) SLAVIC

Now, also known as FYROM, as territory from the former YugoSLAV republic

SO, YOU MUST BE JOKING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BECAUSE there is NO such thing as macedonian language
OR ethnicity because THAT is only a 20th century ... "invention"
in a stubborn effort of people like you trying to ... manipulate the TRUTH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Despite yours and others stubborn efforts,
nothing can OR will ever beat the

ORIGINAL MACEDONIA ....

and the TRUE history of MACEDONIA is GREEK
the language spoken was also GREEK and
THE WORD (Macedonia) was, is and will always be GREEK!!!

So, finally, let it go and CHANGE the NAME back to

YOUR ORIGINAL NAME = V.A.R.D.A.R.S.K.A.

Dimitris, check my profile, I have been a member here for several years, probably before you. I haven't posted in a while because of all the filthy racism that exists from people that support modern greece's attempt at genocide.

I came to read an article about the Macedonian entry a couple of days ago, and I was taken aback by the filth that came out of people's mouths.

Those people who come into a Macedonian thread and use the fyr acronym are basically supporting a racist insult against ethnic Macedonians. If you are going to be filthy racists, you should at least stick to your own threads, and not post on Macedonian threads at all.

Spreading hate and racism is shameful. If people want to keep racist politics out of discussions, keep the majority of these greeks out of the Macedonian threads. That's the least that can be done.

I will repeat.. acquaint yourself with international law, history and genetic science before you come here telling me who I am and trying to change it. Also, look at the history of your own country before you point fingers at us.

@ dimitris
@ oxi allo karvuno

For the "eager" reporter that Katerina Souliotis is,
she has NEVER done Greece any favours at the ESC ...
She single-handedly manages to jeopardize
our entries with her lame antics and rude manners,
especially last year ... Why do they
send her to report ???????? Bad reporter.

dimitri

I don't think it has to do with Lena's behaviour. It's just that someone has to teach Soulioti some manners. Every year the same old story: she's being rude to every participant especially those who she thinks are a threat to the greek entry. Remember her attitude towards Rybak last year? :)

It's a problem Katerina Souliotis(star channel reporter)had with the german delegation.I guess she was too eager-persistent to interview Lena. However,it is true that Lena was rather cold and unfriendly.I don't know why...

If some of you eurofans are not very well informed about the ''Macedonia'' issue it does not mean that us (Greeks) we are obsessed or anything else you post here. It is more like a self-defense to the nationalistic propaganda of FYR Macedonia and the open support that Western politics give to them.........In other words our ''obsess'' (as you see it) it comes as a natural opposition to the aforementioned coalition (FYROM-Western politics)..............

And come on. Wasn't ESC all about politics even in the past? :P

The facts you presented now are accurate. But you may not know that in their school maps theri country is spreaded within Greece and constists of Thessaloniki and my home town as well...Plus, Macedonia(apart from drama) is also a greek word (not slavic at all)which means "Tall" because ancient macedonians were-as a race- taller than the average ancient greek...And how come we see" new" members in here that never visit the site in order to discuss about Esc but when political issues come to the table they are always here? ;)
Tonight is the 1st semi so i didn't want to talk about things like that in here but people should only talk when they know ...The only greek or macedonian in FYROM is a part of their country's name. They have the right to exist of course!Lol!But not by appropriating another country's history...

It's not Greek propaganda! But FYROM'S cheap propaganda.People like you and antonij l only appear in here in order to propmote your country's black propaganda...How come you only appear in this thread? ;)
I think that you people must be going through a living hell :( Trying to be something you are not (macedonian aka greek)in your whole life. You are a slavic nation and that's a good thing. Why don't you like or accept your own identity and your so called "macedonian" slavic dialect?Really it is beyond me... :D

I didn't give any arguments Dimitris. I know Macedonia was a Greek kingdom. And that kingdom was situated in part of present day Greece, present day Bulgaria and the Republic of Macedonia.
I know about the tower of Thessaloniki on the bank note, and some other incidents. But where I disagree is that the country is a threat to Greece. Especially since Greece is a member of NATO.

Fact is that the Republic of Macedonia is an independent country, and also that the name dispute is not important enough for the international community in the long run. I expect that in a few years the new name of the country will be North Macedonia, or something like that.

greek propaganda is realy very strong....but everytime we talk about they are upset! It's widely known that only the truth hurts. (I don't know if one say that in english but it's the case here in france)...Only the truth hurts. So, the only real independant Macedonia is the Republic of Macedonia. Tonight you will find this country like the FYR Macedonia....
FYR but still MACEDONIA.
And she will be in the final...
By the way, my personal favorite is Greece... So you see I don't have anything againts Greece or Greeks....Be cool!!!! By by to everyone and don't forget to vote tonight.
Personnaly I'll vote like this: Macedonia 2 SMS and Greece 1 SMS.

Okay my pants just dropped from this piece of news...not to mention how disturbing it is every time people refer to that Slavic country with the name of Macedonia. The only Macedonia on the map is a region in Greece.

@dino, you asked about ethnicity. Perhaps you should learn what ethnicity actually is. Experience tells me that most citizens of modern Greece are not taught much about it for obvious reasons.

@ T K, I apologise for having judged your comment prematurely.

@ Whatever the original, stop spamming threads with nonsense. We can get a parrot to do the same job, and at least we will have a chance to ask the parrot to actually think about what he's doing.

@ everyone:
enjoy yourselves, and please remember that using fyrom is offensive and racist. please check out my first few posts in this thread , where I have directed readers to investigate the legality of this name dispute, and the historical validity of modern greece's claims. Now, if you'll excuse me i'm off to bed.

Dino

I might, but in November, when the weather is really ghastly in Germany. It will be either Cyprus, Malta (my Maltese friends keep nagging that I haven't been there since 2008) or Tel Aviv. I haven't made up my mind yet ...
