Eurovision history to repeat itself?
Belgium to win in Norway again?
Tom Dice's simple song Me and my guitar is now a clear favourite with the bookies of the ten songs that qualified from Tuesday night's semi final. Only Azerbaijan, Armenia, Germany, Israel and Sweden have lower odds, and of those, only Germany is assured a place in Saturday's final. The others must all pass tonight's semi final.
Belgium's qualification on Tuesday was the first time that the country has qualified for the final since the introduction of semi finals in 2004. In that year, Belgium were already in the final after reaching second place in 2003 but finished in 22nd place with Xandee. In 2005, Nuno Resende finished 22nd in the semi final, in 2006, European superstar Kate Ryan could only finish 12th in the semi final. The KMGs, Ishtar and Patrick Ouchène (Elvis) all failed to take the country back to the final.
Belgium's only Eurovision Song Contest victory was secured in 1986 by Sandra Kim with the uptempo hit J'aim la vie. She remains the youngest Eurovision Song Contest winner of all times, aged just 12 years old (not 13 as publicised at the time). Her victory came in Bergen, Norway after Bobbysocks' won the title for Norway the year before. Tom Dice will be hoping that history repeats itself this Saturday.

I can't believe I'm actually reading this. Belgium is finally considered to win it all! I could definitely see our country winning now we reached the final. The song had a great winner-quality when Tom performed it on Tuesday. During the more quieter bits the crowd was going wild, and it even went on from there. So I could easily imagine him being the top contender from semifinal 1. I suspect the public loves the song and personality of Tom, and that's the perfect mix to win the contest.
And wouldn't it be cool to win it in Norway again, for the second time. Sandra Kim needs to be released from her burden. I feel it's time to award Belgium its next victory. We stood too long in everyone's shadow. It's our time now! With the perfect song... Me And My Guitar
Hmmmm yeah Lena is my big head ache this year. I like the song but she only sings and i have heard from others she is not that good LIVE ok, so not deal for Tom he is better!!! And yes Cyprus.... and Turkey is nice but again i rather Tom a thowsand times. I really really want him to win, shame i cannot vote
It's between Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Germany I think
Belgium will have a problem because of Cyprus...
Belgium is in 7th position, just like Iceland last year, maybe they can repeat the 2nd place... I'd be happy for them

@Lina
And who is this already winner? I think we have the same song in mind
No matter what keep playing your guitar, it will save us from fake winners
I would love to have Eurovision in the west again
Belgium were Amazing hosts too!
I wouldn't mind if he did.
Good luck, Belgium!
He cant win not beacuse if his song, his song is just PERFECT ! But beacuse the game already have a winner before to start , with few words ESC this year was fixed long time ago !
I hated this song before but after the performance it really caught me and now it's one of my favourites.
Every winner ... is a deserved winner, even >OPA< ... if it´s happen! ;-)
This one is the anti-Safura, isn't it? No fire, no pyro, no dancers, no distractions - just one guy singing and playing guitar.
I figure it'll finish in the top 5, but it would be pretty cool if it won.
Tom i love your song, you are a real musician in this contest so you obviously deserve to win!!! i love your guitar too sounds so beautiful. Your simplicity as human will take you far, keep going boy of the guitar!!!
lol Croatia will win or Germany..
Unlike sweden, this would be a worthy winner!
SWEDEN WOULD BE THE MOST DESERVING WINNER!!!
i wouldn't mind if he wins. He's talented.
Unlike sweden, this would be a worthy winner! But Safura will win anyway.
Hopefully this will at least come top 5. In terms of sheer quality, not much else beats it this year.
Belgium is my winner for 2010 and that's all that matters to me. Tom probably won't win....or even make the top 10 in fact, but i'm very pleased to see that he could bring Belgium out of the wilderness and back to the grand final.
Yes but things will be clearer after the second semi.Belgium will do really good in the final but i wouldn't like this song to win...It's an honest little song but too personal i.m.o...
No way..............
it will not win... but congratulations to Belguim with the qualification
i don't think safura winning is the example of the taste of hardly impressed audience
Then you shouldn't use her as an example. I don't.
this song will end in final 4..
I would love to see this win
I have my Belgian flag ready for Saturday night and I will be voting. 12 points from the UK
It would be perfect if Belgium won
The Belgium song is imho opinion one of the best this year (currently my No.3). I don't think it'll be the winner but I hope it'll finish in Top10.
Belgium is my 4th favourite song this year, but I would not mind it wins. Such a lovely song. Good luck!
