Jimmy Jump, France and Hardchorus

World Cup essence in Eurovision

The French hymn of the national football team on the Eurovision stage, the Hardchorus Song Contest and the last incident with Jimmy Jump interrupting the Spanish participants while performing on stage, are clear facts that most of the World Cup involved, are paying a look at the Eurovision Song Contest.

Few days ago, Jimmy Jump declared that he would pay a visit to Oslo and "shall try to sing a little song". And he finally made it. This is the second time happenning to the Eurovision Song Contest stage back in 1964, and the lucky country that was to be interrupted was Spain, again. However, due to a mistake, the incident occured right before the Belgian entry. Jimmy Jump is a well known sports activist, while he overcomes all the security systems of a sport event, such as the final of Euro 2004 football cup.

This year, he expanded his "career" by causing a scene on the Eurovision stage, while the Spanish representative Daniel Diges was performing Algo pequeñito.

Meanwhile, the Hardchorus Song Contest, organized by Puma, has only four official participants, but day by day even more participations appear. The most recognised one was by Ukraine while Ani Lorak took part in this project, and the supporters of the Ukrainian national football team, were singing Shady Lady.

Above all, the French broadcaster decided this year to send Jessy Matador to perform Allez! Ola! Olé, the official hymn of the French national football team for the Worldcup event, taking place in South Africa this June. Considering that the Eurovision is a cultural event that takes place every May and in most cased it is characterized by not very flattering comments, the fact that the musical contest attracted the eyes of those directly involved with sports competition, is a proof that Eurovision is "a mean of promoting various considerations", in this case the World Cup.

This year, the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 took place in Oslo, and Germany was the winner with the song Satellite performed by Lena Meyer-Landrut.

JJ must be a stupid... but He helped Spain with his appearance. If He hadn't appeared, the song would have finished with no surprises... 24th oe 25th... as always finishes Spain.

I agree with all of you who say the spanish song was benefited by Jimmy Jump. At least, He has been a patriot, and didn't hurt anyone... hehehhehe He just wanted to "share the moment"...
I agree too He would be 24th or 25th if JJ hadn't appeared on stage.

@ Daniel from the Block
"Spain should have been disqualified ...they had in a moment more then 6 people on the stage .."

He was not part of the act!

@Sara
As I mentioned in other thread , what happened happened, though it's a pity of course and security is still an issue..
what I hate is the fact that ESC today icluded this idiot and his video in this "World Cup essence of ESC" when he has neither anything to do with ESC (apart from disrupting a singer who has spent months rehearsing) nor the World Cup, bad journalism and bad taste ESC, less media attention for that moron please! we had enough already in Spanish media..

I have read the comments from this rost member and it really gets me mad. Who are you to talk about what really happened and the security and be so disrespectul to the host country. They would've never let an armed man in...for goodness sake. Try to think a bit before you write all those hatred comments...

Pau PV
But Norway has surprised me, in a bad way.

Gosh! You seriously don't think they would've let him in if he was armed, do you? If they don't know the man (he is famous in Spain, but not in Norway), maybe someone should have warned NRK then (if they knew he was going to do this in advane). Don't make a bigger deal of it than it was. This guy have the ability to get unnoticed into big events obviously (it isn't the first time)..and you don't know how he got on the stage either (or what really happened), so its ridicilous to blame Norway and NRK for it and say Norway did a lousy job as host (the way you do). If this is all you got out of this years Eurovision (and can't see what great show it was), then you can't be a real ESC fan.

I think last position and sing again helped Spain to took 15th position :P

But i like his song and I voted for him twice :P

He'd be highter :)

How proud I am of the show Saturday. I don't care that a lot of you have been doing nothing but critizing. (6) NRK did an amazing job, the stage looked great and the hosts did a wonderful job.The Europe-share-the-moment theme was also great (they wanted to show that Europe can be united) . The interval act was one of the best I've ever seen in Eurovision. Well done :) After reading all the comments on youtube and other forums (all positive about the show) warmed my heart (since people in here have been so negative). Madcon will get a huge hit over Europe with their song "Glow" (I'm pretty sure).
As a Norwegian I'm a bit sad for Didrik though..he was clearly nervous, poor little thing.. (he looked so sweet though..hehe)..Only 20th was a bit disappointing. Usually the host country get some votes just for hosting...hmm (not even our neighbours supported us). It was no year for ballads thats for sure. Cyprus and Ireland also deserved a better result.

Congratulations to Germany!
I was really happy Belgium came 6th (and I think Tom deserved even a better place) :)

I feel a bit sad cause its all ready over. :( What shall we do the next 6-7 months..hehe?
Good luck to everyone in Germany 2011 :) I have no doubt its gonna be great! :D

@Jan Jan loves The Armenian Muscari

Thank you! :) Congrats to your country also for the 7th place! :) ;)

Really great show on Saturday, congrats Norway. And great winning song. Like everyone I'm shocked because I didn't imagine that a big4 country could win again after all those disaster-years.
Just like Alexander last year, Lena has already invaded the top of many i-tunes charts in Europe. Her song and personality bring modernity to Eurovision. No Abba-song wins this time. Well done !
The French entry is also doing VERY well in all European i-tunes charts !! It's nice to see the french entry becoming a huge commercial success, I recognize it, as well as the fact that I really enjoyed his live performance. But still I regret that there was absolutely no media cover for Eurovision in France before the contest, due to the fact that Jessy was completely unknown. And the TV audience in France dropped a lot, as expected (only 20 % for Eurovision with Jessy, compared to around 32 % last year with Patricia Kaas).

Spain ended up 15th thanks to what happened. I myself felt sorry for the guy and hated the song and the stage presentation, so, I guess a lot of people voted for him only because that happened. Otherwise he would have ended up bottom. It was just a bad song.
Congratulations Germany! Great JOB there!!!

At the end I think the globals fear for a weak contest have all vanished away. We watched one of the most beautiful show in the contest's history, with a very very high amount of beautiful songs (nearly each country performed a better song than 2009). Hosts were perfect, never screaming for capturing attention (maybe the votes' time could have been a bit more "shaking", but it was ok just the same). The interval act was one of the best since Israel 1999. Western countries showed that it's possibile to win the contest simply choosing the "right" song - without special effects or ethnical reminders- and the right singer with a strong personality. I'm sure that Germany has passion and tools to prepare a marvellous contest next year, and that it will be a very good way to pull back in it those countries (in primis Austria and Luxembourg, then Hungary, Czech Rep., Monaco, San Marino, and - fingers crossed - Italy too) still missing. So we eurofans should really be PROUD of our beloved musical show. It had to be a great celebration of music and love, and it waas even better than expected. I can say, I do love ESC!

Congratulations to Germany!
Doesn't matter with or without "mechanisms" Lena won, after all! :)
I believe ESC 2011 will be the greatest ever!
And one remark: Have we ever thought how great is that ESC thing? I mean...people from so many countries, enjoying music and celebrating for so many days! It's really the biggest festival in the world! No fanatism in the arena just happy (or sad! hehehe) faces and so many flags waving in the air!
That's why ESC is amazing!
And we love it so so so much!
Hope to see you next year in Hamburg? Hanover? Berlin?
Ok, wherever!

spain did NOT lose points because of the stage invasion, if anything they gined sympathy votes . these things happen at many events, you dont see football matches starting from the beginning after someone runs on the pitch, daniel obviously wasnt that put off because he could have stopped singing until the man was taken offstage, but like a professional he carried on and well done to him, but to claim he lost points is ridiculous
