Average viewership, 5.7 million
Spain: Viewing figures peak at 8 million
These figures clearly surpass last year's Eurovision viewership in Spain, when an average of 5.1 million were watching TVE1 on the Eurovision night, but stay far behind 2008, when 9.3 million saw the Belgrade edition because of the Chikilicuatre effect.
Daniel Diges' second performance (the first one was disturbed by Jimmy Jump) was watched by 8 million, while the interest remained high during the voting part of the show, being watched by 7.1 million (48.5%).
The 2002 edition of the Eurovision Song Contest remains the absolute leader in Spain. That year, the country was represented by Rosa López, bringing the competition an average viewership of 12.7 million and a market share of 80.4%.

You're totall y wrong, hater. The special program about ESC immediately before it obtained ratings of almost 5 milion people, so don't invent things.
There was expectation in Spain for watching DD's performance, by far more than last year for watching Soraya (who is quite annoying for many people here).
Spain gave amazing peformance . I also liked the dolls and clowns dancing around him .
It was so funny .
Daniel will have always a space in my heart! Love everything about him and his performance was brilliant.
Thank you Daniel!!!
Daniel Diges is now big in... Youtube.
Scary...
oh I read 8 millions only for Digges second performance. Poor ratings in the beginning. of course everyone in spain tuned in to watch what had happened. jimmy jump jezzz he favoured this awful song :-)
I just looooved the spanish entry!
And the jimmy jump incident made it even better! (i thought he was a part of the coregraphy in the first place
). It was hillarious!

Don't worry about it. If an irish person had done something like that. I would be embarressed for my country. I wouldn't be blaming Norwegian security. I know what I'm talking about because in the 2004 olympic games a "dancing priest" from Ireland (the man is seriously crazy, I suppose I should feel sorry for him) disrupted the marathon and cost a brazilian athlete his medal. no one blamed security for that.
Exactly ... I was in Athens then and ... NO ONE BLAMED SECURITY FOR ... THAT.
And, God knows, Greece spent ...BILLIONS on security alone !!!!!!!!!!!!
(billions that Greece could have ...SAVED, by the way) ...
Especially since pre-911 Sydney did NOT have to pay anything remotely near to that EXCESSIVELY HIGH amount Greece had to pay !!!!!!!!!!!!
And, FYI, security was ... imposed to Greece ----by ALL COUNTRIES----- because they were ALL ... freaked out that a terrorist attack would happen!!!!!!!
And, of course, did NOT.
Besides, that "crazy priest" has pulled that ... stunt before in Formula 1 car races, etc. He is "known" for this.
Aww, I was hoping Diges created an even bigger interest than that. I hope he will return one day.
Sara
Yes I want up tempo song, but not like Rybak with violins, I wanna smth different!
And I hope Mira will write song, coz she doesn't want to participate again!
She should write for Shackles!

anyway better to "share the good moments" and not waste any more time on him and his pathetic antics..at least he got a night in jail and a 1,800 euro fine..enough about him!
great show! although thankfully Aexander sang last year for you and won and not this time round! ooh a bit painful to my poor ears!! time to go! p xx
paul
No one is blaming the guy (and he was even from your own country?!?). If that guy hadn't been there doing his "stunt" Daniel wouldn't have been affected either (cause no Norwegian jumped on the stage).
Anyway....enough about him.
I didn't expected so impressive ratings, the third best ratings from last decade. However, the other channels didn't schedule any decent program and no sportive events took place at the same time.
TVE will be again present at Germany, because the broadcasters is happy with this year ratings (even the NF's) and the big amount of visits to the Eurovision section of its website. And now, without commercial income, extra earning in televote and web ads it's something TVE can't resist.
In addition, director of TVE told that the online preselection will be changed for avoiding freak acts.
@ paul cl
The best we can do is not paying more attention to that gilipollas of Jump.
@ ki.var
Please, throw yourself with your childish and patethic paranoias thru your balcony.

I don't think deep down, people really blame NRK for the incident, he will do whatever he wants no matter security there is, but I understand the viewpioint of Spanish viewers: imagine you had been watching Didrik and suddenly an "extra" appeared from nowhere! wouldn't you be pissed off too? (what if that crazy man had waited one more song), and you were a Spanish viewer, like me, who had been waiting for months to see DD sing...then that!, I say that as a hypothetical situation so maybe you can see the frustration in some of the comments!, but I also understand your point of view completely, as always! p xx
Of course, I also said that I understood it. But it is the extent of what certain people have written in here I think its totally unfair. I actually also think Didrik was affected and got really nervous since he was performing right after and heard about the insidence (but that said, I would've been happy to see him perform one more time...).

I was hoping to get a chance to tell you how much I enjoyed the 3 shows. It certainly was the best ESC in many years (even though my country did not do well). Normally I don't pay too much attention to the presenters, often they can be really annoying, or have no personality at all. This year was different. Haddy, Nadia and Erik were great! I really enjoed the interval act. I'm a hardened old cynic but it made me smile, a simple idea, but really well done. I lile the way people families were included, the wjole think felt much more human. At work today, people that never pay too much notice to ESC were talking about how much they enjoyed it too. I hope that all those people who were complaining last week have shut up.
Best wishes, Seamus.
Hi Seamus
I think both Niahm and Didrik (our countries) got poorer results than I think they deserved. Obviously it was no year for ballads.
I am happy to hear that you an your colleagues enjoyed the show, the hosts and everything
Thanks so much for that
For some people there's always something to complain about of course...and now it is that "Jump" guy issue and complaints about bad security (who has taken over as the main thing to be remembered). Thats sad, cause I think saturday's show was really great and I am proud of NRK for doing a really good job
Marko
I'm pretty sure we're going to attend next year, so don't worry about that.
Didrik was asked if he would participate again, and he said...."you never know"
Next year, however, I hope we will send a more up-tempo song again.
cute performance

But it was so obvious from day 1 that Ireland tried to win ESC 1993 again, but we have 2010 now. I love Niamh both as a person and a singer, and that's why I said from the very beginning that I wished she hadn't tried again. The result she got was inevitable, and she wouldn't have fared much better either had her vocals been flawless.
Paul Cl
To begin with, Spain's Daniel
gave a wonderful 1st performance!!!!
So, the incident with Jimmy Jump was NOT that big a deal NOR did I even notice ...
and the 2nd performance was NOT why Spain got one of the best placings in years!!!!!
Spain did really well because a GOOD SONG represented the country, this year !!!!!!!
By the way, I have already mentioned NRK's ... seriously BIG MISTAKES elsewhere for which NRK ... ARE TO BE BLAMED !!!!!!
@ Mapko,
Yes, I spotted Verka, you know most "comedy" entries in the ESC are a disaster, and don't "translate" very well. bust I really loved Lasha Tumbai. I even have it on my ipod, it always makes me laugh!.
I feel sorry for Niamh, everyone in Ireland was hopeful that 2010 was going to be a good year for us, but it wasn't to be.

When I saw JimmyJump getting into stage I thought that it was planned GIMMICK because neither Daniel nor the dancers seemed to be surprised, bothered or frightened at all. At the end, many people has watched the performance of Daniel Diges because of the infamous invasion. Without any doubt, is has been the most viewed Spanish performace per years, decades...
Thats Nice
I thought Daniel's performance was cute
The way this site was inflating the lad in early stages I really thought he would do remarkably well.
Seamus Cork
You liked families?
I like them too, but the best one was Ukrainian family with Verka Serduchka!
hahahahahahaahaha!
But I'm sad coz of Niamh Kavanagh, I voted her!
I wish old good beginning of 90s when Ireland won many times with AMAZING entries are back!
But ESC is changing, what can we do?

Regardless if he is known around Europe or not (people who knew he was going to do this didn't warned them so they are equally to blame). I'm just so sad that certain people write such mean things about Norway in here now (most spanish people though, cause they think it had an affect of the result, which it hadn't). People are talking about bombs, terrorists and stuff. Gosh, are they craz?. They don't even know exactly what happened. The security guys can't exactly follow each person in the arena. He did it in a couple of seconds (and he is obviously an expert in doing this unnoticed), so how could they possibly react any sooner than they did. People in the arena didn't even notice. He had a valid ticket and he was thoroughly searched as all the audience was. Just because of this insidence they call Norway bad hosts a.s.o. I find it totally discusting....
@TTT
you just got a Meg Ryan moment ! (You got mail!)
@Sara
in fact he's not only known in Spain but Europe-wide, he has disrupted all kinds of European sporting events in the past..besides, a friend of mine knows him through the "media network" and says he's a really sad person with some kind of total anti-Spain deranged madness obsession! (so like he should get some treatment somewhere)
@Marko
where in my comment did I suggest that what happened made DD come 15th? put your reading glasss on sometimes..
love to my favourite euro trio! pcl x

But 'Satellite' isn't a Raab song. It was composed by Julie Frost and John Gordon.
