Good results, but these could've been great results. I'm stunned that Belgium ranked so high with the jury but yet so low in the final results. A big thank you to Romania, or should I say to the Romanian jury. Thanks to them alone we got at least a few points from their country. I'm pleased to see that 'Me And My Guitar' was the professional number two choice. Though I must say it hurts a little that the televoters didn't give it any chance.
I'm not sure if Belgium would've won if it was up to the juries alone. Because for instance, in The Netherlands — one of our few neighbour countries — it was exactly the other way around. There, the televoters loved it and gave it 12 points while the jury completely ignored our song and downgraded it to 6 by giving it not even one point. We're quite upset because of that. I guess there'll be some sweet revenge for us Belgians in the end...
But it's still a fact that with only televoters deciding, we would've even gotten a much lower ranking than sixth. With a jury alone, I have a hunch that we could've at least ended up at the number two spot, if not won cause Germany wasn't exactly that popular in a lot of the jury verdicts.
Nevertheless, it's a great achievement by itself that Tom managed to get a 10 from the Romanian jury, that just proves to me this was a song of great quality. Romania doesn't normally vote for Belgium. But because of these juries maybe we can now get some more points from different countries. It also proves that some juries look at the songs very objectively. But the country still needs to send in the right song. It's as simple as that! And we did just that!
PS These are quite fascinating jury results. It's very interesting to see that the Romanian jury didn't rate Germany's song at all. That means the televoters must have loved it.
Lol....watch what do they make!!!!!!!UKraine if it was televoting would have been 8 points for sure!!!!!Albania also would have 5 points....Germany also 6 or seven....ANd BElgium????????????????OOOOOOO OOO a big zero for the boring sleeping pill!!!!!!!!!!SO what are the ties between ROmania Germany Albania And Ukraine....Please tell me.....!!!Bring out this awful jury system.......They are unfair!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@ Douze points
I might take THAT is a compliment since MY comments may have come off as ... bitchy
!!!
BUT aren't you, in a way, "shooting" the ... messenger? As a matter of fact, I am just a keen ESC ... observer
... and that is ORIGINAL. Thank you.-
Yes, it's ORIGINAL to be a bitch.....
That jury had a real bad taste! G
on 12 pts? WTF?
These results show two things...
1) The mitigation of bias when combining jury and public. Moldova, the very close neighbour, got nothing from jury and obviously won the televote to finish second overall.
2) The benefit of having two performances of the semi and final. Ukraine was the jury's tenth best song in the semi and second best in the final of the second semi final songs, to be third combined.
This benefit of two performances is not always the case. Some songs lose their impact the second time. It shows that for equality, that the 5 pre-qualified songs do get a chance to perform, maybe during the intermission of the semi-finals.
Lower than Ireland , I meant to say at the end
Why are the jury votes so messed up ? ???
Ireland got 8 points from them in semi final 2 , and 0 in the final from the jury?
But Azerbaijan Israel Turkey get points in the final from the jury even tho they scored them lower in semi final 2?
Belgium should have been second .
I think Belgium had won with only the juries

Lena supposed to start again in 2011: http://eurovisiontimes.wordpress.com/
are they crazy?
OK.
It's only about the SONGS ... Really. That is why we are
both here. To talk about the SONGS that we love.
I said the same for Denmark as I did for Azerbaijan's ... SWEDISH entry.
I happen to have STRONG opinions and whoever does OR says something that I disagree with ---- I WILL LET THEM KNOW IT.
MY COMMENTS AND MY SPECIFIC ESC ...OBSERVATION
has absolutely nothing to do with other Greeks,
That is the way I am ....
Confrontational, which, obviously, makes me ORIGINAL
and also means I am not always pleasant BUT I do not mind.
And my age also allows me to be this way ...
Oh, and I suggest you to enjoy the song...You'll feel better...
OK then I should respect your opinion and observation, although still it doesn't sound so innocent to me...
... because it is .... NOT a coincidence.
First of all, leave other Greeks out of this.
BECAUSE THIS MY COMMENT AND MY OBSERVATION.
Secondly, since you have managed to ... twist
MY words around,
again, PLEASE I BEG YOU take it up with Turkey's maNga...
whether or NOT they CHEATED.
it's a shame they ignored Cyprus and Ireland in the final!!
Whatever
I don't think maNga would dare or need to cheat (I am so amazed that you are still using that word), as I said before. There are several words that rhyme with each other and eyes - surprise is one of them, which can be and will be used in several songs...Actually it seems that you were just digging on stg to bash the Turkish song...Hope I am wrong...We have things to say about cheating and Greeks but no need now, I prefer enjoying the songs...
Cheers and HOPPA
My comments were substantial about LYRICS.
Since you STILL seem to have a problem, may I suggest you to take it up with Turkey's maNga instead.
I am a just a keen ...observer!!!!!
Meaning that I notice ESC things ...Greek-style!
ESC things that others do not notice OR who ...ACT
as if they do not ...
Now, I firmly believe that it was ... NOT a coincidence.
.... eyes
.... surprise
Greece's ESC 2009 entry used...
SAME two important ...KEY ...words leading up to chorus in the SAME way
as was in ... Turkey's ESC 2010.
as in "We could be the SAME"
???????
And I do NOT mean the music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For me, CHEATING is a big no-no in every facet
of my life and I cannot accept it nor will I be
pressured by anyone to change my opinion on what
I believe is considered ...cheating, even if it
means this specific ESC topic.
WHICH, BY THE WAY, ALSO BECAME THE REASON WHY MY NAME CHANGED TO ... ORIGINAL
as in Greece ... the Original.
Cheating with two words, interesting...
I used the word ... CHEATED a bit ... as in maNga did in the ESC with another ESC song
because it IS a .... strange ... coincidence
(!!?!)
Can we stop now?
I said what I had to say.
sakis was 7th , manga is 2nd... why manga should copy poor sakis's song? at least they would try copy a winning song.. not a cheap pop..
if u think we could be the same is copy of this is our night, it is possible to say patricia kaas's song is copy of dustin the turkey's song..
Whatever
Of course lyrics BUT NOT WORDS THAT ALL PEOPLE USE and music are the property of the respective authors, artists and record labels. BTW this is our night was not the best Sakis could do, I mean, think he is much more better than that... So I think STEAL OR STOLEN is not the right word to use comparing We Could Be the Same and This Is Our Night
Do we have an agreement here?
Thanks, Gunec.
Just to make point more clear.

http://en.wikipedia.(...)ki/This_Is_Our_Night
Famous Greek-AUSTRALIAN lyrics writer of "This is our night" = impressive career
[urlhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craig_Porteils
... And, as far as I know, LYRICS
and music
are the property of the respective authors, artists
and record labels.
Furthermore, I do not think even ... UK's Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber
would disagree with ...me
on THAT.
top 5 is completely modern songs this year.. this shows that ethno pop era that started with sertab(2003), finished now..
and jurries are not so unfair for countries.. for example romanian jurry gave 0 to Hadise last year but 7 pts to maNga this year.. that means jurries r tend to vote every countries but it all depends song..
on the other hand ethnic songs still works on televoting.. greece and armenia possibly in higher places(5,6) in %100 televoting...
Whatever
You can be sure that Sakis's style is soo different fm maNga's style and I even doubt that maNga boys have ever listened to Sakis's song or even they remember the lyrics.
BTW I love Sakis, he is soo handsome
And I've voted for Yorgo this year, glad I did so
