Eurovision songs invade Swiss charts

Ten songs that competed in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 have entered the Swiss single charts this week. Among them is the Swiss entry Il pleut de l'or, which hd not charted before. Winning song Satellite is currently at number one.

Satellite had entered the Swiss single charts shortly after the German national final and after eleven weeks in the top ten, it made the top this week following the victory by Lena Meyer-Landrut in Oslo. It is therefore the first Eurovision Song Contest winning song to reach the top of the Swiss charts since 1982, the last time Germany had won with Ein bißchen Frieden

Ten songs have newly entered the Swiss single charts this week:

  • In a moment like this (Denmark) - No. 12
  • Drip drop (Azerbaijan) - No. 22
  • Me and my guitar (Belgium) - No. 32
  • Playing with fire (Romania) - No. 51
  • Apricot stone (Armenia)- No. 54
  • We could be the same (Turkey) - No. 56
  • This is my life (Sweden) - No. 62
  • Je ne sais quoi (Iceland) - No. 64
  • Il pleut de l'or (Switzerland) - No. 65
  • Sweet people (Ukraine) - No. 73

Michael von der Heide represented Switzerland in the second semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest with Il pleut de l'or but finished last with two points in total. However, Il pleut de l'or is his first song ever to reach the Swiss single charts after 12 years in the music business.

Swiss singer from 2006 (member of Six4One) - Claudia D'Addio is such an AMAZING singer! i would like to see her participating for Switzerland in ESC as solo singer!
Emel Aykanat who read votes for Switzerland twice is also great, she will be good choice! She is Turkish-Swiss singer and she made few AMAZING songs with DJ Bobo earlier!

Lys Assia claimed she wants to represent Switzerland next year. It would be lovely...but maybe also pathetic.
DJ Bobo should try again, with the new system and a song from this century.

I liked Il pluet de l'or it didnt deserve last place !

Switzerland have to stop the "we only want someone with a chart hit" to sing for them because its clearly not working. Look for new talent, have a NF ?

Well, I guess this means that Switzerland will be coming back next year. :) 'Il' pleut de l'or' is a good song that lost some of its shine with the stage presenation chosen, imo, and with Michael's and his backing singers' less than perfect vocals.

OH "Apricot Stone" is among them :O Thanks Switzerland for 0 points :D ;)

I'm sorry but, as soon as I heard the first seconds of Michael's performance on the Telenor stage, I did know that he was a candidate for the last position...

Dull song with no appeal at all.

The song "Il pleut de l'or" ending up with only 2 ponts was a big injustice :(

Nice to see maNga's 'We Could Be The Same' in the Swiss charts, too! ;)

Five of his albums entered the album charts and one of them entered the top ten.

If he is so weak, how come they selected him to represent a country? :S

says a lot about Michael von der Heide's career if it's his first charted single of a 12 year music career - considering Switzerland's tiny population !!!
