Jessy Matador number 1 of the French Top 100
This is actually the first time a French entry tops the official charts. Of course, the record market changed a lot since a few years and comparisons are not easy to do. Last time a French entry entered the Top 10, it was in 2001, with Natasha St-Pier. Je n'ai que mon âme reached number 2. Same 2nd place 11 years before with Joëlle Ursull's White and black blues, who managed to remain into the Top 10 nearly all summer long.
Since then, most French entries entered the Top 100 but never managed to place that good... due to bad results and lack of airplay after the contest (as well as before...). In the 90's, France's contenders didn't do that well neither, except Joëlle Ursull. Amina, in spite of her 2nd place at the contest, placed around the 30th position. Patrick Fiori's Mama Corsica remained only two weeks and peaked at number 40. In the 80's, none of the French entries reached the national Top 50.
And what about before? It has to be said that the official sales list only existed since 1984 in France. All charts published before were not at all connected with real sales, but with airplay and radio station's choices. Regarding Marie Myriam's Grand Prix, for instance, no objective placing can be given. Still, we know for sure that the single sold more than 1.4 millions copies only in France, which would have placed the song on top spot of any official list for a long period at the time. Before 1992, gold status was reached at more than 500,000 copies of a CD single (or 7") in France. It regularly decreased. Since 2009, 150,000 is the number of copies to be purchased.

I love it. its on the radio all day in cyprus and will definitely be playing all day long on the beach. If you ask me, this is europes hymn this year! no props nothing on stage..it was great

Well 30 days is too little! They can't argue properly in those 30 days, I know believe me, coz our VIP Big Brother last 30 days and it's not so interesting! But VIP farm - 100 days..uuuuuuuuuuuu...after 50th day - it becomes HELL!

I remember we had 2 farm seasons years ago and a celebrity farm but the latter lasted only for 30 days or something!

100 days! Today is 88th day!
In previous season was our singer Bebi Dol who represented Yugoslavia in 1991 ESC!
But I heard that in Germany Farm lasts 200 days and that after 150 it turns into hell, they are arguing like crazy, almost fighting! It's GREAT! I wanna our Farm to last 200 days, currently tey are quite arguing, end is close!

No, I know it's a bit strange, but I stopped watching movies completely! Yes I did!
Yes Norway had the most seasons of Farmen in the World, Sweden invented that show and I thank them a lot for that coz it's so interesting! But they had 5 seasons and you had 6 seasons!
Marija Serifovic was 35 days in the Farm, but then she walked coz she had concert and she had to go out of it! Pity coz she was the best, other ppl are wannabes and .......censored...but still it's interesting coz they are arguing a lot and making drama and funny things! I liked one rapper a lot, but he is also out! 
WOW Jessy is sucesfull, YAY, I like him and his song, and his other non ESC songs! Allez Jessy!!! 
This trash is the paradigma of one of the two black holes of ESC 2010: the horrible choreographies we had to suffer this year. Especially this and the Azeri one were really non-stop-puking.
The other black hole were vocals. Good vocals were on vacation this year...
France pleasee bring your old style back to ESC. I would love to listen to more chansons..

Yesterday, I watched this Song on "Get the Clip" in german VIVA Programm. That's a show, were the Viewers decide, wich Song will be played next (I think, it exists in most other Countries, too). That's so great!

Yes I have told you about that we have "Farmen", you must have forgot it I didn't know we had a world record though. Btw. how did Marija do in Serbia, did she win?
You watch a Brasilian soap, I watch an Australian soap (Home & Away). LOL! I'm so hooked that I have to record it each day when I'm at work Don't you watch any movies? (on TV or dvd)? 
Btw. Allez ola olé is at # 5 this week on VG-chart top 20 in Norway (last week it was at #18).
