Tango king selected
Marko Maunuksela first Finnish candidate for 2011
Marko Maunuksela took already part in the Tango Festival last year, losing then to Amadeus Lundström. Marko Maunuksela is born 18 January, 1974 in Alajärvi. He has performed in musical theatre and even had a hit single Lintu ja pesäpuu in January 2010.
According to the rules of the Finnish Eurovision selection he will now be offered a place in the qualifying heats in 2011, but he may yet decline the offer.
YLE has previously announced that the Finnish national final will return to Turku in 2011. The former capital of Finland will also be an European Capital of Culture in 2011. The final will be held at the Holiday Club Caribia on 12 February. The 10 artists will be selected in three weekly studio heats, starting on Friday 14 January, 2010.
Songs can still be submitted to an open selection until the end of August.
Watch Marko perform a Finnish version of the Finnish Eurovision Song Contest entry of 2004, Hulluna tangoon in last year's Tango Festival semi-final:

you never know suddenly it rains when you expect the heat.
thanks,i dont eat seafood. I hope i can avoid it totally when i go to Spain this september
i have heard that they were eating a lot seafoods in the south
... you mean, to find the next best danish ESC-entry or to make you rich, Roselil ;-)))
I could cook some calamaris for us!
@Bennyfried
Pls catch Paul and send him to Denmark
Finland should return to the successful Rock/Hard Rock/Metal, cause they have amazing acts!
Marko was pretty ok, nothing less or more. I think they should dig up Kwan who competed in 2009
They were great and even greater than Waldo's People wich was one of my big favourites last year
Or give Lordi their glorius return
Just kidding, they seem to do well because of their victory and should build further on that!
I know where to find *Paul* and I live in Hannover - I could catch him for ESC 2011 and he would have to listen to a lot of music then ,-))

I don't like rock at all, but I loved "Leave me alone" song a lot! I voted it and I think it was underrated!

Marko's got a great voice, and it's very cool how a musical style so closely related with Argentina has become so popular on the other side of the world...but I love it when Finland sends rock to Eurovision!
(Did anyone else like Hanna Pakarinen as much as I did?)
He sounds interesting but I'm still hoping for more badass Heavy Metal from Finland! Or Amadeus again!

Well you should respect other opinions and other ppl should respect yours about football and teams! You can't speak like that, I'm not nasty if I have different opinion and different attitude than you!
P.S. You still have Marija Šerifović's pic! lol
I like last year's winner's voice much more. Amadeus was great. Marko is a bit plain and replaceable.
spain won and i like that
, but however the judge wasnt fair, we all saw that, but i wanted spain to win, it will be interesting if paul predict for eurovision too
God's Sake ,has good sense gone out the window. This is about Finland, but we get to talking about footbal.Because of the nasty nasty comments made here I am also going to talk football.
Spain so deserved to win the world cup.Holland fouled up all the time ,De Jong and Van Bommel if anywhere else would have been charged with assault. So Holland if you are proud of that, then shame on you.If Germany were that good (and they were, but no-one likes sore losers),then they would have beaten Spain. As for the comments re-boring games if the result is 1-0.So many times have games been won with a higher score ,but the gameplay has been poor. Now for my nationality and reasoning(as so many require it here) I am British (English Dad,Scottish Mum,Welsh Gran) with a French aunt and a Dutch uncle. These comments re- Spain are really poor it would appear from some of them ,the Dutch belive violence matters more than anything.
And finally re- the article......could you maybe have waited until he decides to enter 2011,as he may not.
Shi* happens....
Well Done Spain
The best team won!!!!!!!!
Why ?
Should we really care???
Well done Spain, the best team won.......
Good night, Marko....from me and Saru - cat.
Ohh yes I understand, thanks once again!
Good night dear Marianna!
It is name of that house. Niemelä is name, torppa = croft
.......I hope you understand
Marianna
Sorry if I'm boring, what does Niemelän torppa mean?
mak ut and Mario
Please calm down with those comments, pleaseeeee...
@ Mario mir,
do you know why Spain oppose the independence of Kosovo? The spanish government fears the independence movements in spain, the one of catalonia for example. A decision driven by selfish nationalistic spanish politians.
Btw what should i digest? Lenas win or maybe the fact that without german money the piigs countries like Spain would collapse? Celebrate your 1:0 team tonight and tomorrow try to deal with 20% unemployment again.
Gl my spanish friend.
Marianna
Thanks, it really is AMAZING!
One day if I visit Helsinki, i will definitely go there...
I think Finnish wood is the best in Europe, wooden huts and houses seems great and quality in Finland! I read smth about Finnish wood earlier!
