Dutch Eurovision plans revealed on Thursday

Broadcaster TROS will reveal the Dutch plans regarding the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 this Thursday during the radio programme Trous Gouden Uren. The programme, which is hosted by Daniël Dekker, will be aired between 10:00 and 12:00 CET.

The Netherlands have not qualified for the Eurovision Song Contest final since 2004. In 2010, Sieneke placed 14th in the second semi final with her song Ik ben verliefd, Sha la lie. The song was written by Pierre Kartner and performed by six different acts in the national final.

I found songs of that band 3Js and some are okayish and some are more than HORROR! :O They are not promising at all! :S

Why they don't ask Glennis Grace again? :( She participated then when the Netherlands didn't have any chance! Now it's different and she can easily do well, maybe she is still interested to take part! Her 2010 single "Als je mij weer aankijkt" is more than AMAZING seriously! (L) ;)

NL has not been in the final since 2004 ? Wow !
That's why Turkey has been in every final so far .
So unfair !

@ Axel

I've watched a clip of 3Js in YouTube ('Net alsof', with more than 300,000 replays) and I think they could be a very good proposal, if you like folk-pop.
At least their image is quite modern and not sounds dated. With the right song, I can see them qualifying without problems.

If I should take a look over all their entries, there is hell'a'lot middle of the road-songs! :O My favourites are:

1974
1990
1992
2001

In the bottom I find:
1973
1997
1998
2000
2009
2010

The rest is pretty ok.
Eventhough the songs I picked as the best ones is very impressive, the songs in the bottom are slightly worse. As mentioned, I hope for something original and modern. Folkloristic is not in for me since I don't have the best memories from this years entry :P But if that's the way for them, go on, I don't know anything yet! :)

I hope the Netherlands pull out all the stops this year, they deserve to do well after a number of disappointing results!

The best singer that The Netherlands could send is Sharon den Adel, but obvioulsy, it won't happen in this world!

Connie Breukhoven is THE glamour diva of the Netherlands. She married Hans Breukhoven (Mr. Free Record Shop), adopted lots of children, but recently divorced.

I really love the Dutch songs from the 80s/90s, I remember a school trip to Holland in 82, we all fell in love with the singers from the "Nederlande top 40"! cause that was the only thing we could watch/listen to!, we loved Anita Meyer, Doris D etc but our favourite (especially us 14 yr old boys!) was the following (for different reasons I guess, looking back!), Vanessa to ESC 2011!! (or whatever happened to her?! would love to know 28 years or so later!..

I've got no hopes at all. It can get worse, always, the TROS proved that last year. And now they admitted that they don't give a shit about the results as long as they can send whatever they can please their followers with.

SOMEONE SAVE US!!!

@ Liberato

Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland have confirmed participation, so hit your head against the wall.

@ w s

I think TROS has a more clear idea about which kind of entries want to send to ESC than NOS had. In my opinion, Sieneke was more original and more appealing to the audience than Hind, the Toppers etc.

No we will not pull out. TROS has a contract with NOS to organize the contest the next few years. Don't know exactly how long, but we definitely don't withdraw.
