Ready to Schlager
Sweden: Marie Serneholt sets eyes on Melodifestivalen 2011
Marie Serneholt has tried once more to win the golden ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2009 when she was invited by SVT as one of the four Melodifestivalen wildcards. Her song Disconnect me did not make it to the final, coming second last in the semi but still she states it was a great experience and she is keeping four fingers crossed to be able to do it again. Marie will be looking at songs and is not quite sure yet whether she will bid with a ballad or an uptempo song. She will be looking at already existing as well as custom made songs and hopes to find one that feels "just right" until the end of August.
Marie is currently cast in the leading role of the Swedish version of Grease together with Melodifestivalen 2007 finalist Sebastian Karlsson. Recently, she moved in with her boyfriend and two-time Melodifestivalen participant Mans Zelmerlöw (2007, 2009).

I love her since she was an A-teen member, I hope she can take part in the next MF, and finally make it to the final. Go Marie, Jag älskar dig så mycket!
well Sweden will quite surely send Schlager and until cheering eurofans support it , it wont change ....
I really like Marie - couldn't understand how "Disconnect Me" failed so totally...
I hope she goes for a ballad - a song like her "Oxygen" suits her best in my opinion...
good luck to marie serneholt...
Pfff mf10 I meant
and btw "disconnect me" was one of the worst songs from mf09 along with Joback and Pernilla.
Yeahr!!! Marie to ESC!!!
She is such a great Singer
& I still think, Sweden would do best with Schlager. Nobody can write better Schlager than the Swedish & the Experiments last Years didn't work good. I'm sure, that Timoteij (they are called like me
, Eric Saade, Måns Zelmerlöw, Sofia or Alcazar would have done much better between all that boring Ballads in ESC. Only because Charlotte didn't win in 2008...come on! 2008 there were other great Schlager, no Wonder, that they can't win all together. The Same in Melodifestivalen: People can't decide, which Schlager is the best & in the End another Style wins, because it had no Rivals.
Go Marie!!!
Maire had a bland song but it deserved to go as far as the second chance contest.
However Sweden have better singers - Sanna Nielsen or Caroline Af Ugglas are the 2 people I think could win for Sweden next year.
Sweden has much better acts. Invite Erik Hassle, Robyn, Salem (again) and Mando Diao!
Wellll.... I don't doubt in her talent, because she CAN sing, it's just depending on what she's going to sing. Trust me, I liked her entry in 2009, but was it original? No... I believe with the right song, this could go well, or else, look at Malena and Charlotte...
Oh nooooooooooooooooooooo, nooooooooooooooooo, nooooooooo, terrible.
bad news. This year's bad result scaring them into sending schlager again... that's what I fear. Bad rumour #2 this week.
Not bad at all. Best of Luck to her
and Best of Luck to Sweden with Melodifestivalen 2011
if she intends on coming back with something as bland and boring as "disconnect me" then don't bother love
Great, yet another blonde from Sweden :/
I could almost guess what the song will sound like.
Please send something different this year.
Yea, Sweden can make a good result with schlager, but i think there are different options as well. I think if Sweden would send Caroline Af Ugglas or Pain of Salvation, they would be highly in the rank.
@ws.. whatever sweden sends people complain its schlager.. but the truth is that sweden has made their best results when sending schlagers.
"Hero" was schlager in my opinion. Not the traditional dansband type. But still schlager.
Yeah great Marie!!! With a great uptempo song you can get it!!!
I haven't seen "Disconnect me" clip before, i like it very much.
Marie Serneholt for ESC? I would prever Pain Of Salvation, Agnes, Darin or even Mans.
I think in Melodifestivalen Swedes have many great songs every year, but they choose not so correctly unfortunately.
@axel.. when did sweden send a schlager the last time.. in 2007 rock, in 2008 pop/disvo 2009 opera/disco and 2010 a ballad.
in 2006 we sent a schlager and did well.....
schlagers is what sweden need to start sending to eurovision again....
good luck to marie. shes a sweetheart.
i love almost all swedish song in the contest
i dont know why, but this country is amazing. songs people cities everthing
)
i love to go Sweden for Eurovision
good luck Sweden
I hope Sweden learns from their last disastrous results and start looking at some other other musical direction as the Swedish schlager is dying outside Sweden .....
