Duet with her father
Albania: Olta Boka records new song
In 2008 Olta Boka represented Albania at the Eurovision Song Contest with her song Zemrën e lamë peng. The young singer managed to qualify in the final after two bad years for Albania. After her participation in Belgrade, Olta's fame rose in her home country. Last year she released two ballads and won many prizes.
This year, she decided to record a duet with her father Reshit Boka. It is a folk song called Tak tak, ja bën tek porta, typically from the middle part of Albania. Olta and Rashit officially presented their song in the popular folk festival Maratona e këngës popullore.
Rashit Boka is a guitarist and a famous folk singer in Albania. In an interview with the local newspaper Shekulli, Olta stated that she has a very special relationship with her father. He was the one who led Olta to the music career and has followed her every step of the way.

I like her song in 2008.... she was one of my favourites
But this song is completly different than 2008
Albania from year to year has to good song
Her entry was by a mile the best entry for Albania up to date..... Really liked it and voted for it lots of times....
@ eurosong
its on the new album of the artist, so i think it is
ofc its rather stolen then covered, but in balkan things work different haha
I really hope to see her again representing Albania. Zemren e lame peng is the best Albanian entry.
@ Lailay
Indeed, its bad sound quality but the song is nice.
Her father looks like one of those you find in the Karaoke at the cruise-ships sailing around
He sings OK, though. The song is OK and Olta is still the wonderful performer she were in 2008 in Belgrade
Nice article
Hopefully we'll get to see Olta back in Festivali i Këngës as a contestant again soon; that would be great!
@ arben, you don't know me. so maybe I am.
btw that kind of cover is not really released.
@eurosong4ever
but youre no albanian star, theres the difference
It reminds me of a Rednex song actually. Like something Rednex & Ro-Mania would do, lol.
Auto-tune? Or just bad sound quality? Anyway, the song has a nice melody and I like it, but maybe a bit too much dunk-dunk? lol. I hope Olta comes back to FiK this year and I wouldn't mind a duet with her father either.
well done girl! your country must proud of you.
good luck in the future.
@arben, that's not a cover of dum tek tek. it's just the karaoke of the original version of dum tek tek with his voice in it. I can make that you too. lol
New albanian cover of turkish 2009 entry "dum tek tek" released, too!

I hope she'll have a huge success with her new song!
Amazing beautiful Olta. She had the best Albanian song at ESC so far.
I hope she wil return to festival i kenges.
Oh wow. She recorded a new song?!
I can't wait for the news about her going for a walk!
Nice catchy song
Best of Luck to them both
it is nice when singers do a family duo.
she became older and looks more professional than in 2008. however, I like her esc-entry more than this. well, still a nice song.
