Malta: Claudia Faniello launches her 1st album
The album includes eleven tracks was released with the collaboration of both local and foreign writers. The runner-up in the 2008 Maltese national final also worked with Mary Susan Applegate (co-writer of The Power of Love) who penned a song in Claudia’s debut album. The German record label Cap Sounds is behind the publishing of this album.
The album includes Faniello’s entry in this year’s Maltese selection. A new version of Samsara, penned by Philip Vella and Gerard James Borg was recorded. Though it is similar to the version performed last February the song sounds stronger with the use of the timpani. Two more tracks are Midas Touch, one of the songs she competed with last year’s Maltese selection and Guardami. The latter is a song which managed to get shortlisted in the Young Category of the Italian prestigous festival Sanremo.

Am I wrong, or has Claudia Faniello ever been representative of anything at the ESC? I can't remember, the Maltese entries seems to be variations of the same song each year, but wait..
*looks it up*
LOL. No, she hasn't. So why is this a news item at ESCtoday?
LMFAO, I thought at first she was the "Vertigo" chick.
Please support the ESC in the voting to decide Norway's most popular entertainment programme:

Maltese,
Is it still good enough for swimming in October in the islands, are there still foreign tourists in October along the Maltese coastline?
I don't think that Claudia is a bad singer, Samsara, Caravaggio, L-imhabba ghamja, Blue sonata were great songs, but so obvious for ESC. With these songs Malta won't reach final. The main problem is with the songwriters I think
So Malta should allow foreign songwriters at least to write songs for Maltese singers. And if it doesn't work, let's try foreign singers as well, for example from Italy.
Oh what great news...
Really this girl has to understand she has nothing remarkable that could make her even be on the esc stage..! all this failures should teach her that some things are just not for some people..! it's not her songs that were that bad..she is blunt..indifferent..anyway malta is a small music market and she may soon succeed in competing to esc..I doubt having any remarkable success though..
I LOVED SAMSARA
@ Nenad
OK, but let her have a decent song first! None of her attempts has been any valuable...
The thing is, why so much promotion of her and not, say, other veteran NF participants? There are more than a few all over Europe...
@ Lev Hadar,
Remember that the 2004 Swedish representative had been trying to represent her country since 1986. She finally realized after 18 years!
So, let Claudia to realize the same dream: to represent her country in the ESC one beautiful day!
I have nothing against Claudia, but what's all this interest by ESCtoday on her and her things? I mean, she's NOT an Eurovision singer, she's just a NF participant who has FAILED not less than five times! We don't really care!
What A STUNNING news!!!!
'Xita-fit dezert', the Maltese hit that represented Malta in OGAE SC Contest 2003, I liked very much.
@ w s
The problem with Malta is the lack of good singers. Obviously, with only 300,000 people they can't be plenty of music stars 100% Maltese. They have a few good singers (Chiara, Ira Losco and others) but that's not enough for securing a continuous and decent representation.
If you watched its last NF, you'd find that it was pretty awful. OK there are countries like UK or Spain with big musical industry producing vomitive NFs because of the lack of interest, but that's something circumstantial that we could revert in a future. But Maltese TV have interest on ESC and they usually try to do its best, but they have no more chance with their singers/songwriters. If they want to be succesful again, there's only an option IMO: allow foreign singers/songwriters for Maltese NF, I'm sure that many Italian acts would be interested in.
Bit hard to judge because of the bad sound quality, but I think it is pretty OK. Now if only Malta would learn from the previous years and send something to eurovision they like, instead of something they think Europe will like.
