Making fun of yesteryear's fashion is so 90s...
silvia night should be on this list.
Karl
Yes!!
But next year UK outfit was great and funny too - "Flying the flag"!
Helen & Joseph (Malta 1972)
this IS something!!!!!!
@ Melisa
"blue shows up as gray on black and white television"
Any color other than black and white shows as gray on black and white television
Ahh... wacky dresses. Without them in the ESC the contest would be boring.
The best outfit in ESC ever had girls from UK in 2006 - "Teenage life'"
You have to remember in 1969 and 1970, Spain did NOT have color television yet, so Salome, and Julio Iglesias had to wear something that showed up nicely on black and white, and blue shows up as gray on black and white television.
DAVID
Yes Ich troje were 11th in semi final! I will never forget that!
And Annet Artani!
Turkey - Sibel Tuzun qualified only with diaspora and in final she got ONLY diaspora points, without them she will be 0 pointer! The same goes for Armenia - Andre!!!
Also Lithuania, I can't believe they got so high position with that shit!
Instead of them The Netherlands - Treble should have qualified!
Ich Troje were robbed of a final place as well.I loved their whole performance in 2006,even if 2003's was better.Their costumes go with the song as far as i'm concerned.Brilliant!Salome was brilliant in 69,the outfit was awful, but then so were most outfits in the 60's.
@ paschalis,it would appear western nations didn't vote for anything that year, twas as if they had their phones cut off,or could only dial to certain numbers if you get my drift.
And 2 of them are utter HORROR!!
Betina Soriat and Raab! Gosh they are so awful with their SC outfits!
And her make up, WTF, is she a drag queen?
Ohhh sorry, it's really insulting for them!
OMG OMG OMG Ich Troje 2006 one of the best EVER!!!!

And Salome from Spain!
Others are quite bad and amateurish!
I wonder if Verka from Ukraine or Gisela and her Bronze headwear from Andorra will be on the list ?
Ohhh Malta JESC 2010 is so good, I can't stop listening it these days!
"Knock, knock...boom, boom" FTW!!!
And Malta please send her to ESC in Germany as well!!!

Still expect Dschingis Khan somewhere here!
Maybe Wig Wam too. As I said last day, I'm on foreign soil when it comes to fashion and outfits
MacKellar's attire...
We're going down the road of the unusual. I would just like to say two things: MacKellar's works well, he might have been the first to go for an ethnic look.
And now, a big round of applause for the most energetic and enthusiastic performance in the history of ESC. I simply love it, she had the nerve to choose that suit and she pulled it off. I never get tired of watching her. Viva Salomé!
Some underwear under Kenneth McKellar kilt?
Laka should be on here somewhere; i'm sure
Oh yes, Salome! Of course. What a dress! Perfectly matches with the song and her figure. One of the best outfits ever.
I heard somewhere that is presented in a museum in Spain nowadays?
I don't think the eastern bloc is to blame for Austria's failure in 2007. Western countries didn't vote for it either. It was just bad on stage, that's the problem.
*am still annoyed at the Eastern Block/Diaspora voting, stopping Eric Pailaya from getting to final.Mind you I suppose a lot of them wouldn't know what the Red Ribbon meant!
Ooops and forgot to mention the Kenneth McKeller placing.Should I as a proud Kilt wearing Scotsman be offended at the way he is included in the list? Answers on a postcard please(can I sue ESC today for racism?)The fact is ,Kenneth McKeller's song was far worse than his wearing of national dress (it most certainly is not an OUTFIT!)
Right had my moan now.
@w s
armenia's stage was not kitschy, it was authentic representing an important symbol of armenian culture.
moreover, it it also about songs. ;-)
with regards to it, the biggest mistake was to sing main parts in english which destroyed the song.
otherwise it would've done extremely well, perhaps close to lane moje's success.
on the other hand I am happy not using the own language got punished.
Looking at my own country i think Kirsten & Søren 1988, Gustav & Birthe 1957, Bamses venner 1980, Thomas Lægård 1997 and DQ 2007 could easily be on this list.
Whata great piece of Eurovision history. Thanks esctoday! You've made me smile!
