20:15 CET, Unser Star für Baku
Live: First elimination round in Germany
The show
The show to be broadcast on Pro 7 will start at 20:15 CET and it will be hosted by Sandra Rieß and Steven Gätjen. Ten acts will perform cover versions of famous songs or own compositions and the two of them who get the lowest number of votes will be eliminated from the competition. A jury consisting of Thomas D, Alina Süggeler and Stefan Raab is going to give advice.
At the beginning of the show, the ten acts are going to introduce themselves before the voting starts. The running order will be determined by the first intermediate result: The person with the lowest number of votes is going to perform first and the person with the highest number of votes is going to perform last. The current results will be displayed throughout the whole voting sequence.
Live
The show has started. The singers announce the songs they are going to perform tonight:
- Katja Petri - Legohouse (Ed Sheeran)
- Rachel Scharnberg - Like a star (Corinne Bailey Rae)
- Umut Anil - Weitergehen (Tim Bendzko)
- Leonie Burgmer - I love your smile (Charlie Winston)
- Ornella de Santis - I want you back (Jackson 5)
- Roman Lob - Easy (The Commodores)
- Céline Huber - How come you don't call me (Alicia Keys)
- Yana Gercke - Roxanne (The Police)
- Sebastian Dey - Amnesie (own composition)
- Shelly Phillips - Fuck you (Cee Lo Green)
1. Rachel Scharnberg - Like a star (Corinne Bailey Rae)
Rachel delivers a flawless and emotional performance of this song, which suits her voice very well. Although she finished first in the last heat she doesn't seem to be one of the favourites of the audience at this moment.
2. Leonie Burgmer - I love your smile (Charlie Winston)
Once again, Leonie can't deny certain similarities with Lena. Nevertheless, her performance is very charming and authentic.
3. Sebastian Dey - Amnesie
Sebastian is performing an own composition tonight. Amnesie is a classic, a little hectic, guitar pop song. His voice sounds a bit nasal tonight but overall his vocals are enjoyable. He seems to feel at ease on stage after he had been trying a bit too hard to last week.
4. Katja Petri - Lego house (Ed Sheeran)
Katja is playing the guitar again. Her voice sounds crystal clear tonight and she once again can prove that she was born a musician.
5. Umut Anil - Weitergehen (Tim Bendzko)
Singing in German seems to suit Umut very well. Vocally he shows the same flaws as last week but he seems to capture the audience with his emotional approach to the song.
6. Céline Huber - How come you don't call me (Alicia Keys)
Céline chose an R&B song for tonight. She is 100% into the song and she grooves with the band. She seems to be more secure on stage this week and she delivers a very strong and confident performance.
7. Ornella de Santis - I want you back (Jackson 5)
Ornella is back with her unique voice and a surprising choice of song. The audience reacts very positively.
8. Shelly Phillips - Fuck you (Cee Lo Green)
Shelly finished first in the first heat. Tonight she is performing a song which seems to be perfect for her. She is dancing and entertaining the audience with her charming and unique style.
9. Yana Gercke - Roxanne (The Police)
Last week, Yana performed a recent hit but tonight she chose a classic. The rock style works well with her voice and she delivers a confident performance with much attitude. Very strong reaction from the audience.
10. Roman Lob - Easy (The Commodores)
Another classic tonight. Roman obviously knows which style of song suits him well and he delivers another flawless performance.
Rachel and Leonie have been eliminated from the competition.

I love the voting system because it is the only element that makes the shows worth watching. but that is why I at the same time hate it because I planned to ignore them.
of course it will be roman or yana whoever thinks the opposite is far away from being smart but some people have different aims and their comments always have hidden messages they talk very different when it is about their nation and too different when it is about others, what a shame . i want roman for baku, good luck to him:)
Skip that f****** voting system ... I really start to hate it!
Oh my :O ! In the last 3 seconds Leonie was eliminated over Katja :) ! It should be Umut and Leonie to be eliminated though..This one will be a clear race between Roman, Yana and Shelly in the end imo but Roman will most probably emerge as a winner..
This voting system is awful. I hope Germany won't end up sending Umut to Baku.
The results will be like a russian roulette.8 of them are so close.
Happy Birthday Mina and Paschalis :) !
Lol.Happy birthday to both of you then!
someone more with todays birthday??? Congratulations to all of you :-D
Paschali, happy birthday to you, too :D
@mina I keep forgetting we have the same birthday! Happy birthday to us :D
Umut,Leonie and Shelly were my least favorites. But i guess,Rachel will be out followed by someone else who will be disqualified at the very end of the voting
Please let Umut be eliminated, he was the worst tonight..
Happy Birthday, Mina !
@dimitris, Well the song was not that good but the guy is sooo positive he really has something special. I would be happy if Germany sends him to Baku
Ok, I think I see why Roman is the favourite here..I don't know if he has the best voice but he has stage awareness something the rest lack..
After what I heard tonight I think Roman is the best singer and would probably the best choice for Germany
Roman: I didn't like his song choice.
Yana and Roman are both overrated. None of them are great singers and Roman has a very weak voice.
Dimitri, yes, it is. Thank you :-) For Baku, either Yana or Roman. I'll be happy with either one.
Come on Germany, send Roman and bring ESC back in 2013
Happy birthday Mina!
Rooomaaaan :)
Mina,It's your birthday,today?Happy Birthday!
And i really dislike Yana she looks so fake to me.
Ah, now I see why I like her so much. We share the same birthday :D
Yana has an excellent voice, by far my favourite till now !
