Belgian final on 20th March
Belgium: Nuno Resende vs Tiffany Cieply
On 20th March, Belgium's French speaking broadcaster RTBF will hold the national final in which the Belgian representative for Kiev will be selected. The national final will be a battle between two singers: Nuno Resende and Tiffany Cieply.
Nuno Resende
Nuno Guilherme de Figueiredo Resende was born on 25th June 1973 in Porto (Portugal) and moved to Belgium with his family when he was 12. Nuno is fluent in Portuguese, French and English, and he also speaks some Spanish, Dutch and Italian.
Nuno Resende started his career in 1997. Spotted by a Swedish producer, he went to Sweden to record an album of 13 songs in English. The album however was never released. The same year he participated in Pour la gloire, a talent contest on RTBF won by Mélanie Cohl (Belgium 1998 - Dis oui).
Nuno became the lead singer of the group La Teuf which recorded singles such as Envie de faire la teuf, A cause du sexe and Te quiero, ti amo, I love you, je t'aime. In 2000 La Teuf finished 6th in the Belgian national final with the song Soldat d'amour.
Tiffany Cieply
Tiffany Cieply is 17 years old. Since the age of 10 Tiffany has been playing in theatre plays, musicals and movies and starred in several commercials. At the age of 12 she composed her first song. Tiffany looks up to stars such as Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, Millie Jackson and Céline Dion.
Last year, Tiffany gave several conncerts in Belgium and France. She recorded three songs entitled Ton ombre qui court, Lost paradise and I die and appeared in several RTBF programmes.
Final on 20th March
In the final on 20th March, Nuno Resende and Tiffany Cieply will both perform one song. The televoting audience will decide who will represent Belgium at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev. As RTBF earlier informed us, both songs will be in a completely different style. The song titles have not yet been made public.
For the occasion, RTBF will take the time to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest and several special guests will make their appearance.
