Zdob si Zdub to represent Moldova

For the first time in its history, Moldova selected a song for the Eurovision Song Contest. 15 songs appeared at the start of the show hosted by Aurica Vasilica and Valeriu Myrza. Zdob si Zdub won the national final and will represent Moldova at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Bunica bate toba.
These are the results of Moldova's national final: 1. Zdob si Zdub - Bunica bate toba 2. Nelly Ciobanu - One more time 3. Millenium - Tablou pe sticla 4. Adrian Ursu - Lacrimi si durere 5. In Quadro - I'm begging you 6. Cuzencov Sergiu - Steaua ta 7. Luchin Vadim Lou - Yellow roses 8. Gandul Matei - Am sa vin 9. Nona Marian - Ma cheama dragostea 10. Alexa - Un sarut 11. Alternosfera - O mie cinci sute 15. Johnny Alici - Evolution 15. Iana Stefan - La iubire nu voi renunta 15. Cezara - Pentru tine 15. Edict - Vino bade 50% professional jury and 50% televoting was used to select the Moldovan representative for the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. Zdob si Zdub won the televoting and finished second in the vote of the professional jury that was won by Millenium. Zdob si Zdub, which means "hit the drum", was formed in 1994. Since then the line-up of the band has constantly been changing. Today the band exists of Roman Yagupov, Mihai Gincu, Sviatoslav Starus, Pugaci Anatol, Victor Dandes, Valeriu Mazilu and Cosparmac Victor. Zdob si Zdub will represent Moldova in the semifinal of the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest on 19th May in Kiev.
