Interest Belgian media is growing

Nuno Resende to wear Flemish costume

Nuno Resende is preparing for the semifinal of the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. The costume has been tried on and the Belgian media has finally started showing interest in their singer for Kyiv.
Representing the French speaking community of Belgium, Nuno will be wearing a Flemish costume. Two different outfits will be taken to Kyiv. Both are designed by Flemish fashion designer Jan Welvaert (pictured) and combine black and red with a baroque touch. Little by little the Belgian media is getting more interested in the Belgian representative. Last night Nuno appeared in the daily showbiz programme De Rode Loper on Flemish channel één. Tomorrow Nuno is one of the guests in the Radio 2 programme Niets is zeker, which will be aired on 7th May. With only a few promotion events on his agenda, Nuno has been singing his song Le grand soir mainly on request of friends and visitors of his karaoke restaurant in Brussels. "They often get emotional when hearing my song and that touches me so much." Nuno also showed his knowledge of the Dutch language. Although it is the sixth language he learned, he is doing his best to improve his skills, with a positive result. Chart success for his Eurovision Song Contest entry has been modest so far: two weeks in the Walloon Ultratop with the 23rd spot as highest ranking. In Flanders, Nuno did not succeed yet in reaching the Ultratop 50. Nevertheless Le grand soir has been in the Flemish Ultratip chart, the ranking of songs ready to enter the Ultratop 50, for three weeks. Nuno Resende will be taking part in the semifinal of the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest on 19th May in Kyiv.
