Chiara satisfied with first rehearsal

The Maltese singer for the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest, Chiara, is really satisfied with her first rehearsal in the Palats Sportu, Kyiv. According to OGAE Malta's website, Chiara feels "confident on stage". The delegation is particulary satisfied with the sound quality.
Chiara's performance of Angel takes place against a blue background, which reminds to the sky and the clear blue water of the Maltese islands. Chiara was wearing a black outfit during her first performance, but she will definately not be wearing this during the final preformance Saturday. It seems that she will most likely be wearing a long crimson dress embedded with precious stones, which reminds to the dress she wore in the Maltese national final. Everyone was waiting to see whether she has recovered from the problems she had with her voice, which problems were announced a couple of days before she left Malta for Kyiv. All worries were gone as soon as she started singing. Her voice is strong and clear, two crucial points for a ballad singer. The head of Maltese delegation, Grace Borg, introduced the press conference by thanking the organisers of this year's Eurovision Song Contest for the great organisation. Chiara confirmed that she is really happy with the first rehearsal. She announced that she was very anxious before she went on stage but after testing the stage she felt great. "I even tested my shoes and am ok now". Chiara is looking forward to have a good performance, "for everyone to be happy". She said that in 1998 right after the result she felt very bad; "It felt like someone took away something which was already mine", she said. Looking back at the situation she now feels satisfied with her third place back then. Asked about the nickname attached to her during the promotional tour, The Voice, Chiara remarked that she is really flattered of being called as such. "As far as I know, only one person in the music history was called The Voice and that's Frank Sinatra. Being compared to such a great music icon gives me goosebumps", Chiara said.
