Kemal Shahin in UK BigBrother!
Never showed up in Kyiv as accredited journalist for esctoday.com. Never answered his mobile phone when we tried to find out why and thus, gave us enough reasons to be worried! Tonight, everything became clear; esctoday.com editor Kemal Shahin features in the sixth UK edition of BigBrother!
19-year old Kemal joined the esctoday.com team in 2003, after Sertab's victory in Riga. In 2004 he joined the team in Istanbul to cover the Eurovision Song Contest. During the past year, he has been responsible for the GreenRoom articles (part of the specials section). According to the official BigBrother website of Channel4, Kemal "describes himself as the ultimate Diva with a passion for sex, chocolate and the Eurovision Song Contest". So far, we only knew about the last...
Remarkable is a comment of Kemal on one of the news articles on esctoday.com, written in 2003, at the time that he was not an editor yet: "In this country nobody even cares about Eurovision, it's a waste of time for them, because the British have no culture... they are too engrossed in BigBrother and worried about entering the European Union out of loosing their great power".
"I'll get nominated for being too loud, confrontational and for bitching", he said to Channel4. Kemal is doing an acceptable job at the bookmakers, listed 10/1 for victory at WilliamHill. Do you believe in 'our' Kemal? Click here to bet!
The esctoday.com team wishes Kemal all the best inside the BigBrother house!
