Camillo Felgen died

Camillo Felgen, who represented his home country Luxembourg twice, died this Saturday at the age of 84. The popular singer, tv and radio presenter participated at the Eurovision Song Contest 1960 and 1962.
Felgen was a very popular singer in Germany and France in the sixties and seventies, when he had hits with songs like Sag warum or Ich hab Ehrfurcht vor schneeweißen Haaren. He also wrote hits for other singers, including Ich zähle tägliche meine Sorgen or Connie Francis' Schöner fremder Mann and the lyrics to the German versions of the Beatles songs She loves you (Sie liebt dich) and I wanna hold your hand (Gib mir Deine Hand). The singer also became very popular as a radio presenter for Radio Luxemburg. In the seventies, he hosted the successful game show Spiele ohne Grenzen for German tv station ARD. He also owned a small chain of fashion stores. Camillo Felgen finished last at the Eurovision Song Contest 1960 with So laang we's du do bast (As long as you are there), sung in Luxembourgian. In 1962, he was more successful when he sung Petit bonhomme in French. He was rewarded with a third place and a commercial hit. Camillo Felgen died last Saturday, 16 July 2005 in Esch (Alzette).
